    I live in India where it’s dusty. So I got these rubber inserts that go in the disc tray and the unused USB ports to block dust. Plus a full cover for when the Series X is fully powered down. Works pretty well. Thanks for the cleaning tutorial 🙏

    Isopropyl alchohol(preferably 90% of higher) is great for lifting stickers. It disolves the adhesive, allowing you to easily lify the sticker. When the alcohol evaporates(quickly), it leaves behind 100% of the original adhesive. This allows you to re-adhere the sticker as if it had never been removed.

    I recently cleaned out a PS3 slim I was given after seeing your videos. The slim was easy enough with its modular design. Three security screws made it a little difficult. Still I like it when manufacturers make it easier for us basic folks to look after our stuff. Like this video I unplugged the power supply, fan etc. The fan and heat sink definitely needed a clean. I found a soft old paint brush helpful and some cotton swabs.

    I cleaned out my console earlier this year after I had a shutdown playing Resident Evil 2. Owner since launch, I indeed had a very dirty Xbox. Bought the necessary tools, followed a guide and had almost no issue cleaning it, with the most troubling thing being taking off the base plate. I had to brute for my T6 as I didn't have a flathead small enough to to fit. Its not hard at all, and there's almost zero risk if you are on a clean and flat surface. Trust your ability to be careful being the best advice here.

It is easier on the fan bearings than wiping with a paper towel or toothbrush which puts a lot of friction on the hub of the fan. Shaving brushes are also incredibly good for cleaning small toys and die-cast model cars.

    If they're going to make a slim or Pro version of the Xbox or PS5, I think 1 feature they should implement is making it more modular and easily accessible in terms of getting to some of the core components. That way it will make cleaning regularly easier. For PS5 they should have 2 expandable NVMe slots.

    I’ve never cleaned any of my consoles. From PlayStation 1 to XBox Series X. I’ve had all PS consoles and all generation of XBox. Each lasting me about 8 years. Except for most recent consoles of course. I wouldn’t suggest this unless you’re experiencing issues with your fan. Also do not use compressed air. It has a type of coolant in it which can ruin components of your console.

  • @TheeThunderGod
    @TheeThunderGod11 ай бұрын

    I would use a small light vacuum. Compressed air only moves dust, doesn't remove it and can actually push it deeper into the console or further into the heatsink fins. Wipe extra loose dust, dont blow it around with air cuz that aint "cleaning", thats just relocating dust.

    If your console is really dirty and or taking it apart grab Isopropyl alcohol wipes. I use them when taking PCs apart and it's easier than trying to get bottles of the stuff. Especially if it's hard to find as bottles of the stuff aren't allowed on planes. If you order online were it needs to be put on a plane at some point. They won't deliver it to you.

    There’s a fairly easy way to remove the stand too and get in to it that way. Unfortunately I can’t remember what it is, but I would have seen it on either a similar video or in the comments.

    My best tip to know it's alive, put your ear on top of the console so you can hear it turn on? And put your hand on the fan to feel the air?
