To be fair, it's something that happens irl. Hugh Jackman once went to a con as Wolverine and nobody recognized him. Some people even said he was too tall. Henry Cavil once stood under a Superman Poster in Times Square while wearing a Superman shirt and nobody recognized him. TV Tropes has a full page of examples under the trope "Clark Kenting" and many include simple eye colour and hair changes being enough to fool people. In Danny's case there are a few factors that help him out. Apparently going Ghost changes his hair and eye colour and darkens his skin and gives his voice an echo which would make it harder for many people to recognize him. Danny is also a standard looking 14 year old kid with no distinguishing featiures. Danny Phantom is also Ghost. People in Amity Park think Ghosts are "dead" so he wouldn't even have a Secret Idenity in the first place. All these add to make it hard for anyone who doesn't already know Danny super well to put the peaces together.

@@FraserSouris Honestly, one thing is having a famous person in a random place full of people but if you knew Danny's parent's, you would've contact with Danny and if you fought with his ghost form, would be just too hard to not notice similarities especially when you fight the other person frequently Wich is the case so, when you know someone, if you had to fight their "ghost" a little bit older and different voice with different hair, it's not too many differences for you to not raise some flags about it's pretty sure after the second encounter you would know who the person is, even if you're not close friends with the person.

When Danny changes in from of him, Vlad doesn't say "Hey it's Danny Fenton". he says "The Fenton Boy" or "Jack's Son" implying while he knows Danny exists, he hasn't exactly spent enough time with the kid which would mean he wouldn't be able to recognize him in Ghost form. Again, if people couldn't recognize Hugh Jackman or Henry Cavil even if they watched them in movies for hours, it seems reasonable Vlad wouldn't recognize Danny.

@@FraserSouris Henry Cavill wasn't standing directly in front of some fan and Hugh Jackman was in a place where it would've a lot of cosplayers around but, if Henry Cavill or Hugh Jackman were sitting beside you or in a emptier room, you would for sure notice them or at least think they are very similar to the actors, if you fought them, you would know even more, I was able to recognize people in my university that fought only once in my boxing gym so who knows

I still don't get how people in shows get so surprised. "You mean the ghost that looks exactly like our son, sounds exactly like our son, has the same hair style, gets these ghost gadgets that only we created and shows up when our son disappears is actually our son?"

In lucky in love paulina knowing danny identity does not count because that was kitty possession in. Paulina body she does not know or remember who is ghost boy but she does have a interest in him and she been using him and his friends to get the ghost boy and in reality trip she knows the truth and even kisses danny for all the times he help her she gave a favor by kissing him but in phantom planet find the truth for real because unlike reality trip danny was not ready and it was a accident and did not mean show his identity to the world but like i said she find out at the end and be friends danny

The one part of the episode where he is talking to Sam and Tucker and he said "If I want to ask Valerie out, I'm going to have to never tell her I'm Danny Phantom". See? The relationship would not have worked because he would be keeping his identity a secret.

@Jonathan Menzies - I have seen comments on other Danny Phantom related videos, and some people are saying that Sam was being selfish when Danny gave up his ghost powers in Phantom Planet when she said "You're just an everyday not special human again". They misinterpreted her when she said that because what she meant by that is that he was giving up on the ghost fighting and protecting the town from ghosts. Some people have also said that Sam only liked Danny because he had ghost powers.

And also when they say that Sam was only thinking about herself when they thought Danny was in the Fenton Jet when it crashed into the mountain. Danny and Sam are one of my favorite couples alongside a whole list of other couples, and I really hate it when some people say mean or not true things about them.

What about that time when Danny revealed his secret to Jack in that alternate timeline where Danny destroyed the present?

We all want Danny Phantom back, although I don't know if they will continue the series after the last movie, or if it is still non-canon.

If the show were to ever make a comeback for a revival, I’m hoping to see the new seasons would show how Danny tries to adapt to have his secret identity publicly known after becoming a worldwide recognized and respected hero. Unlike how the novel did, since it was sorta short lived and we never see how Danny adapt to that new life in the novel, not to mention it remains debatable if “A Glitch in Time” is officially canon to the show’s storyline due to a few flaws in the continuity connection it makes to most of the past episodes.

Shame we never got a proper reaction from Valerie

Paulina was being possessed by a ghost girl who wanted to make Johnny 13 jealous so I don't think that should count because Paulina herself didn't remember a thing after the ghost left her body

So, if you watch a new show on Amazon Prime Video called "Invincible", the main character, and one of the other superheroes, Atom Eve, explains something really unique, she said "If you don't expect to see a Superhero at school, you don't see a Superhero at school." And I think that logic takes place here as well, with people at school, home or just walking around on the street, they dont expect to see a superhero, in this case, Danny Phantom, then you dont see a superhero, again, in this case, Danny Fenton, which means it takes place in all other superhero TV shows/movies ect.

This is almost Barry Allen and Peter Parker levels of identity disclosure.

Technically the one in 'Lucky in Love' doesn't count since it was revealed later that Paulina was just Kitty possessing her. Who, by this point, knew about Danny and his secret. And as Forfatteren and others have mentioned, the 'Ultimate Enemy' one is missing where Dan or Dark Danny reveals to Jack and Maddie about Danny's secret after Jazz exposes him at the Nasty Burger.

Oh my childhood, one of the most legendary shows on nick.

Man, this was and is still my favorite Nickelodeon show. Danny is so cool. I don't remember much about back when I was little but I think I had a crush on him back then. Really wish it had more seasons...

That was one of my favorite childhood show.

Danny Fenton's life as a ghostly hero got exposed by himself on purpose in the finale. Ben Tennyson's life of possessing the alien changing watch got exposed by a big fan of his in the start of UA. Sunset Shimmer and her main friends' life of magic got exposed by a curious meddler from a rival school in the third movie.

The “Final episode” did a better job at revealing identity than all the others (This is one of the only hero series where the main hero reveal his identity a lot of time)

Probably nickelodeon's best superhero show

That... That ending WAS an Evangelion refference, if I have ever seen one.
