Raditz NEVER expected gohan to have as much power as he did and he wasn’t stronger than Raditz sure, but he had CRAZY potential, he was just SUPER young so ofc, he hadn’t been training prior. Now, ofc since caulifla and kale were much older when they were introduced, anytime the writers tried to show their crazy potential, it just came off as lazy bc they didn’t really do any insane training. Their growth wasn’t believable like how it was for gohan.

Cabba really only deserved his ssj2 transformation. He attained ssj2 because he wanted to protect his team and his universe. He only went ssj because Vegeta hurt his feelings.

Well youre both incorrect. It was knows as having ascended beyond a super saiyan. It was simply coined ssj2 as an simpligied named when goku was having to explain it to buu. It also wasnt necessarily unique to gohan he simply perfected it while the others acieved a suboptimal ascended form prior to the end of the cell games.

@@thedarkness125 Actually we’re both correct and you failed to note that this wasn’t the first level of power that Saiyans developed. Goku, Vegeta, and Trunks ascended past the standard SS transformation with one transformation that increased their strength with a slight speed reduction and another that greatly increased their strength but reduced their speed to the point of it being useless. After both forms were outclassed by Cell, it then became necessary to Goku to master the SS form without any power and stamina drawbacks. Having succeeded, it was Gohan’s hidden power ontop of training that allowed him to reach the level that would eventually be dubbed SS2. I never said it was unique to only him, however he is the only one affected by it both appearance, personality, and plot wise.

It’s technically supposed to because SSJ 2 IS the ideal transformation. It’s better than mastered SSJ which is why Goku was betting on it against Cell. It makes more sense that they’d resort to that form compared to the predecessor because the original concept of it was that it was supposed to be the perfected SSJ form.

Hands down the only time ssj2 looked good was on gohan in cell saga and the bojac ark

KZread fan animations have done better. I know they were on strict budgets and even stricter time schedules but lets not pretend its at all adequate quality from a titanic production house that revenues billions each year and on one of the biggest ips of all time.

He would have still lost. SSJ2 Vegeta during that moment was supposed to be temporarily similar in power to a SSJ3. Super Buu fought a SSJ3 for a WHILE without much struggle, so he would still be much stronger than Vegeta. If anything, MAYBE he could have killed Fat Buu if he got that power up back then, but definitely not Super Buu

Both of which have swapped hands with some of the most powerful villains we have ever seen who could blow the universe away or wipe them from existence. Broly also unlocked multiple grades of super saiyan from one fight and was so strong he could swap hands with goku and vegeta in ssj blue and even forced them to retreat and fuse. yeah thats true, but you if there's too many gifted characters then it feels like they become less special when everyone is special so Caulifla's existence undermines the progress the other characters make by making it look easy without making it cool in anyway shape or form. it just kinda happens and nothing about her changes outside of power and you don't get enough time to appreciate how gifted they are if that was the point since it was such a short scene. Maybe instead write some scenes of her learning techniques in creative ways that only gifted people can do or showcase her ability to learn faster than other characters by granting her more technical moves that almost no one else can do. That would make her natural ability a lot cooler when given more context relative to other characters.

The way the electrical sparks are animated in Super look so pathetic and weak compared to how it looked in DBZ, it almost feels insulting

Blame toei’s shitty treatment of their animators, I like the look when Gohan went 2 when he fought Piccolo. And when Goku went 2 against Gohan in their sparring match.

Dbs Ssj2's hair remains same as Ssj1.. While in Z, the hair got spikier

Trunks’s ssj2 was my favorite in this series, just cause he’d spent so much time using it he perfected it. That’s probably why he developed ssj2 rage on his own. He’d taken the form to it’s absolute peak, and then compressed every ounce of rage he had into it. Something nobody else bothered to do cause there was some other form they wanted to reach.

Who is an expert in battle and many times pushed his limit pass it breaking point. Decides that when facing a God of Destruction and the chips are down to elevate his game to SSJ2.

Forgot how much I disliked the Super anime’s portrayal of Beerus in those movie sagas. In the movie I never got the impression of him being Evil, it just seemed like destroying was his job or like he was a force of nature. When he slaps Bulma back in BoG it just came off as matter of fact retaliation that he does with a straight face. Even in the manga when he destroys that first planet, he only did it because they tried to poison Beerus. Here, he relishes slapping Bulma, and that planet he blows half way is for no reason. Beerus works better as a force of nature, but Super made him seem evil here. Not to mention I think they exaggerated the Vegeta rage bit too much.

It makes perfect sense. SSJ3 is a inherently flawed form that becomes completely obsolete once SSG is introduced. It's Ki and stamina draw is quite substantial. The power difference between SSJ2 and SSJ3 may be huge but it means little because Goku can't hold the from at full power long enough to make it matter.

@therizoon it is. It’s the legendary super saiyan form, but kale doesn’t turn super saiyan 2 until she controls it. Her berserker form is just legendary super saiyan not a super saiyan 2. On that note, when she does go super saiyan 2, it’s a bit of an unusual case. From what I could gather, kale is significantly stronger in legendary but can’t control it because of the massive amount of power she exhibits. In her super saiyan form, she does have control but her body does get taller and more muscular. When she controls her power, what she actually does is she brings down her legendary form’s power just enough so that she can control it.
