The only problem with the display cabinet is that the variants are hidden behind each other. It's just a personal thing, but I like to see them side by side. I was lucky though, I had my collection completed before I had the cabinet made, so I could specify the measurements to accommodate the variants. The only problem is that I can't get any more without making the whole thing look cramped! It looks like the vinyl caped Jawa will have to go all on his little own. Awww. Good thing I don't have one, then. That's what I tell myself, anyway!😂

There is a cabinet that has variants in their own slot, so you can get that cabinet as well. I think I mention the maker of that cabinet on episode 7. I stilll enjoy displaying them in the cabinet I have because I can just add a plank if I get another variant. Thanks for watching Mopar!

Looking forward to your Empire video already. Drew (Collector Displays) is a rad dude. So many great display offerings. But what figures did they never make which should have been in Wave 2? The Wolf's Head guy from the Cantina. The Bartender. Walrus Man's Buddy wanted in many systems, but I guess not in the Kenner system. Sand Trooper. Rebel Captain of Leia's ship. Long Nose Spy Guy. The Cantina Band... can you imagine if they came with instruments which converted into weapons?!? And why didn't Walrus Man's arm come off so you could recreate the Kenobi Samurai scene? Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, both with weapons so you can recreate their death scene as a spectacular and brave assault into the overpowering force of Storm Troopers amassed outside, which is obviously what happened cause we know Owen Lars didn't go out like a punk and Beru was a terror when you threatened her family, they ran headfirst into those troopers knowing it was the end, but they had faced the same many times with the Sand People.

It kills me I had all the originals back when I was a kid. The Vader hard case. 2 soft cases. Endor set, AT-AT, Falcon, The Death Star Tower. The stormtrooper gun that ran on a D sized battery. All I have left is the original Cloud City Pod, most of the Falcon. 2 Han Solo Empire Strikes Back Figures. Hammerhead and Bosk. All the originals, but loose. ALL my others just got lost or thrown away before anyone knew they would be woth so much. Oh, I still have an original Snowspeeder, but missing pieces. The rest of my collection are from 95 until present day. I only kept a few since 95 in their packages since I like to take them out & display them, but I do still keep their packaging in many many bins. Edit. I forgot. I had the trash compactor with the sponges and the little creature inside.

There were differences in the art and the ads in the back. Those subtle differences are the difference in price and value in a collectors eyes. There are a lot of books and reference websites that break these down. The new book from ReadFive designs does a great job explaining those differences.

I love the Droid Factory R2D2 with the third leg! Would be great to have one. I got a third leg from Stan Solo that I display inside my first R2D2. It doesn't fit as tightly as I'd like and will fall out if you pick him up, but it displays nicely if I stick it on a stand peg and then place R2 on top of it. Hard to find a loose R2D2 that doesn't have any paint missing or damaged sticker. Mine from my childhood both have some sticker damage, especially the first one, while the sensor scope one is in a little bit better shape. I'm surprised that my first R2 is in as good of shape as he is, what with all the adventures I put him through as a kid. He went almost everywhere with me in my coat or pants pocket for many years. My first R2 is special to me because he was the second Star Wars figure that I ever got. My grandma gave him to me for helping her set up a new vegetable garden plot back when he came out. I was only five at the time, but I worked hard on that garden, doing everything that I was capable of doing to help. C3PO is my very first Star Wars action figure. My grandma got him for me for my birthday the year he was released. I'll never forget the epic quest we went on searching for one with movable limbs! I think we bought and took back at least three of them to Kmart before we found one that you could move the limbs on without feeling like you would break it before they moved. I guess those other ones were overpainted or something. By the time I got Removable Limbs C3PO for Christmas when the ESB line came out, my first C3PO was anything but too stiff. He had become a bit floppy and had paint wear from his many adventures because he went everywhere with me like my R2 did. My Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi figures from this set all have gotten new capes and lightsabers thanks to Stan Solo. I lost their lightsabers long ago in a sandbox far, far away very likely. They look great in their replacement capes and sabers. The original capes got ruined from being removed so often so that I could put Darth Vader in his TIE Fighter and Obi Wan in the Sandspeeder. They all have a little paint wear but are otherwise in good shape considering how much I played with them. I never had a first run Princess Leia as a kid. Got one finally about six years ago. She's incomplete and doesn't have a cloak or blaster, but she's otherwise in great shape. My first Leia was the Bespin outfit one from the ESB line. I guess I liked the maroon outfit better than the white one. :) The Stormtroopers are the only figures that I ever had more than two of as a kid. I had three of them at one point - one from each movie. I lost my first one in a dirt pile somewhere long ago, but I still have the other two. One of them miraculously still has his original blaster. Those little black blaster pistols got lost very easily, didn't they? I have two Obi Wans because I got a white haired Obi Wan from my grandma for Christmas and a gray haired one from my great aunt for Christmas that same year. :) After Empire Strikes Back came out, I pretended that the white haired Obi Wan was his ghost and the gray haired one was for times when I pretended that the action I was enacting took place before ESB. I so wish that I had a vinyl caped Jawa now. When I was a kid, nobody got me one and I never picked one out as a reward. I guess I wasn't impressed with the vinyl cape compared to the cloth cape one. By the time we got Jawas in the stores in the little towns near my grandpa's ranch, both kinds of Jawas were released. Too bad I didn't pick up both of them back then, but that's how it goes. Would cost me quite a bit to get one now. I love Jawas! My favorite alien race other than whatever race Yoda is. We still don't know do we? It's interesting how they changed Snaggletooth so much. I never had one as a kid, but I got a red one at a convention a few years back. I will probably never get a blue one as they are crazy expensive now, almost as unobtainable at my budget as a vinyl cape Jawa. I didn't get very many of the aliens as a kid, maybe because they weren't main characters and my family figured I'd rather have those. I did get Greedo and Hammerhead though because I've always liked how unique they were, especially Hammerhead. He may not have been in the movies long, but he sure made an impact on me with his strange design. One of my favorite action figures of all time, actually, because of how well he stands up and holds his blaster as well as looking so weird in a good way. A well designed figure. Later, in the Power of the Force 2 line, they one-upped the original by giving him screen accurate costume and a unique blaster. Have you seen the blaster for the POTF2 Hammerhead? It's enormous! Pilot Luke was my favorite Luke Skywalker figure. Got him along with my first X-Wing Fighter at a yard sale when I was a kid. The X-Wing was very broken with wings that wouldn't lock in attack position, no blasters on their tips and no canopy, but I was five and didn't mind. I kept Luke from falling out by wrapping a rubber band over the cockpit opening. :) I've gotten a POTF2 X-Wing since then for display, but I'll always remember my first one fondly. Someone offered me way more than I thought it was worth several years ago because he wanted it for making a custom ship, otherwise, I'd still have it. That Pilot Luke took a real beating and is in pretty rough shape too, but he's great. Sometimes, the wear and tear on them gives them a certain charm. Oh man, waiting for the mail away Boba Fett was a real lesson in patience, wasn't it? The anticipation was unbelievable. It was a smart move on Kenner's part because I think it contributed some to his already high popularity. I just loved my Fett and flew him all over the place, both in my hand and trying launching him in the air many different ways. Poor figure really took a beating. Many years ago, when I first started displaying my action figures rather than always keeping them in their carrying case when I wasn't playing with them, I got to thinking that he looked pretty rough. I had just started painting RPG miniatures a little before that and got the idea that I could make him look better. I repainted my Boba Fett by hand. He came out looking very good, but I suppose I've totally ruined him as far as most collectors would be concerned. I suppose you could call him my first 'custom' figure. I've custom painted a few other really rough beater condition loose figures since then including a Death Star Droid, Gonk Droid and a Stormtrooper. It's good fun. I paint them a little differently than they originally appeared, so they can't be confused with original paint jobs - that and it's really tough to match paint anyway. Even my Boba Fett's green and red parts of his armor are not the same shades as the originals. The odd thing was, as much as I loved Boba Fett, my favorite bounty hunter design when I was a kid was actually IG-88. I was fascinated by robots already before the Star Wars movies came out, so I really liked IG-88. One of the things that fascinated me about him was that he didn't look like he could be an actor in suit because he was so thin and jointed so differently. He really looked like he'd have to be a real robot in order to function right. I sure loved it in The Mandalorian when they finally had an IG droid in action, even if it was a different one. 88 only got to stand there in one scene in ESB, probably because the puppet for him could barely move. He is still super cool though. Drew's cases are indeed amazing! If I ever decide to put my figures in a case rather than having them scattered around on different shelves all around the house, I'll definitely get one of his cases. I love this video!

The cards that have mail away offers are sometimes considered more valuable in the eyes of certain collectors because not every card had those offers on them. The offers were for a limited time only, like for a year or less. The next time they made a version of that same character, the card for it wouldn't have the offer on it. Some collectors also will pay a little more for a card with these offers on them because so often, we kids back in the day would take Kenner up on their offers and cut the UPC or bar codes off the cards and mail them in to get the figures being offered. To find a card with such offers on it but the UPC codes still intact is somewhat rare. I know that I never passed up on these offers so I don't think that I have any cards from my childhood that don't have the UPC cut off. @@alexj1188

They've gone insane in price because of how few of the original ones there still are in good shape. Most kids, including me, didn't buy one back in the day because we were more impressed with the cloth caped ones, so Kenner quit making the vinyl ones. Now, you can get 'bootleg' or 'reproduction' vinyl capes for them that are much cheaper. Making sure that you have an authentic vinyl cape on that Jawa, or any action figure for that matter, today is not easy. Best way to guess that it might not be authentic is if it is in pristine condition with no tears, stretch marks, stains, etc.

I think that Leia (oh, and the girl that came with the guy in the Fisher Price Adventure People's scuba diving action set before Star Wars was even a thing) were the only action figures of a girl character that I had until many, many years later when I got my first Batgirl and Poision Ivy action figures when the Animated Series came out.
