Regarding the Symbiote suits, I've viewed Peter's first suit as more of the symbiote trying to replicate the style of his Spider-Man suit. Things like Harry's armored suit or the tux shows the symbiote can shapeshift into whatever seems appropriate for a job, and the fact Harry got the white chest spider after the symbiote touched Peter shows it's aware of design philosophies. Peter's black suit could've been the symbiote trying to make an equivalent to Harry's suit with how armored it looks, and the second suit ditching the armored look in favor of a more organic look happens once Peter starts to lose control to Venom. The same could apply to Harry: when he's in full control, he has an armored look, but it's once the symbiote takes full control that he becomes Venom. I'm not saying this because I like the black suit, but just because I thought it was worth mentioning.

I think the main black suit is good but Jesus the Symbiote Surge suit is gorgeous. It looks so scary and alive. Exactly what I would imagine Peter wearing if he was under the control of the symbiote.

Bro 100% what I was thinking and saying. It made more sense to me why the Black Suit has a armored look being that’s it was agent venom first too. But what you said is genius of the symboite being aware. So dope but I do love the black suit insomniac made, it’s so good. I know ppl don’t like the armor look but I do keeping in mind that it’s like an agent venom version of the black suit

I agree that Spider-Man life story suit deserves to be at the bottom of the list, although I will say the one saving grace of it (besides being a reference to a Comic) is that there’s an orange variant so I can pretend we’re looking into an alternate reality were Spider-Man is an escaped convict in a prison jumpsuit. I just find that funny.

The kumo suit is specifically designed to look more like a festival outfit, the designer talked about her process in an interview prior to the launch of the game and I recommend checking it out, it’s got some cool info for that suit and the Brooklyn 2099 suit.

Very weird reasoning. A lot of the placements feel based on what it isn't as oppose to what is here and the idea of "why would this Spider-Man where this suit" could be applied to literaly all of them except for the story suits. Also ArachKnight is a Moon Knight/Spider-Man mix from the comics and I appreciate inclusions like Life Story and Secret/Civil War cause these very specific one off suits can get their chance in a game. After Insomniac who know when something like this can happen again to these lesser known suits

I love how creepy and veiny the symbiote suit looks. It really makes Peter look a lot scarier and more animalistic which reflects how he acts under the influence of this suit. The menacing eyes the huge and jagged symbol and just what happens while he wears the suit makes me love the suit even more.

I feel like it’s gonna be a tradition with the Insomniac games where Peter gets an “Anti” suit to fight the main villain Also I’d love to see the Japanese Toei Spider-Man suit, it’ll also be funnier when you Web Yank an enemy he just yells “Spidah String!” When the suit is equipped And the New Blue Suit is a Fantastic Four suit

Seeing The Amazing Spider-Man 2 suit and Spider-Man 3 Black Suit is pretty cool

I do actually like the original Advanced suit more than the Advanced 2.0 but I still enjoyed the 2.0 design a lot. However, my biggest issue with both suits is that I feel they would look better if they still had boots. Partly why I like the first Advanced suit more is because there’s some red webbing sections on his legs so that it's not all just blue from the waist down. It's also why prefer the red trunks on Superman's costume (or having a thick red belt to simulate the breakage in color that the trunks provided). But if either of the Advanced suits still had the classic Spider-Man boot design I would like them even more than I already do.

I get the Life Story game suit ranking, but damn, Pup, read it, it's what if Spider-Man aged in real time which is something that I think you'd like

I find the way this list is put together to be quite strange. Some of the suits you base it purely off of its looks and how much *YOU* like it, but then you get to the no way home red and gold suit and you put it higher up on the list even tho you’re not keen on it but say it’s higher bases on how relevant it is. It’s like two different lists merging into one. This is your top suit list, no? No need to worry how relevant certain suits may be. It’s how much *YOU* like them. Video was well put together tho, man! Enjoyed it.

I love the lenses on the amazing suit 2. So big and expressive. I wished they let us wear it while taking off the black suit cutscene.

I really like the hybrid suit, I just wish when you activate the spider arms that they matched the hot toys version. Where it’s basically just the Infinity War Arms just all gold. Glad they included both Ben Reilly’s Scarlet Spider suits but I hoped Kaine’s would return as well. I also wouldn’t have minded if they included Andrew’s Vigilante suit.

Two of my 10/10 suits for me (I have a lot of them in this game) is the Red, Black and white version of the canon suit and the Iron Spider suit. They just look like they fit perfectly in this game in my opinion.

The Advanced Suit Mk. I was designed by Dr. Octavius, so it makes sense that he would resign it to be more tactical and add tech lines to it. The Advanced Suit Mk. II is brighter and doesn’t have tons of tech lines, and is more streamlined, which looks like something Peter would design, akin to the Classic Suit.

52:17 I don’t really understand the criteria here. If you’re putting a specific suit on top, not because of the default suit itself, but because of one of the many color variants it has. Then I feel it’s only fair not to judge the bottom ranked suits as just the default, but also if there’s a color scheme that you actually like. For instance, if you complain that “I don’t like purple and gold on Spider-Man” so you rate the suit low, that’s kinda irrelevant since you can wear a variation of the suit that ISN’T those colors. I’m not saying you can’t rate the Classic Suit top because of one of its color options, since it is apart of that specific suit, but if you’re going to do that, you kinda have to account for the other variants of suits you rated low. Especially since you admitted that when it comes to a “Red and Blue, Classic looking suit” you’d pick others over the Classic Suit, but specifically because you like one of its different colors, you picked that one as the best. All I’m saying is the lack of consistent criteria. If you love a suit because of it’s variants, you can’t also dislike a suit, but don’t also consider IT’S variants. Either consider all variants, or don’t bring variants into the equation for any of them, and just judge based on the defaults. Now, if you did look at the overall design of each suit and also none of the color variations caught your eye either to make you like it more, and then rated it the way you did, I would take back this comment. You’re just judging the design itself, not necessarily its colors. Perhaps you said that at one point and I didn’t catch it. In which case, I’m sorry. But it just feels weird not ranking most suits based on a color option, then making an exception for the top suit, when that didn’t seem to be a criteria for any other suit (except the ones that didn’t have variants like the Movie suits) That’s just me.

If Delilah's appearance in the spiderbot sidequest and what we know about the Crunched hell that was Across the Spiderverse's development are any sign is that probably the movie was still getting constant revisions while Insomniac was still in development so that would explain while there's no Across the Spiderverse suits avilable. Maybe in future DLC

When I first saw it, I thought the Secret Wars Civil War suit was going to be something Pete wore in game to test out the Web Wings, and what made me think that is this is the ONLY suit with unique Web Wings.

The Comics Iron Spider suit is my second favorite in the game because it makes those iron arm abilities actually fit Peter. Plus Insomniac went the extra mile to have the arms change color and model to match that suit. My only gripe is that it doesn't have unique web wings where he's using the repulsers on his hands and feet, making him look like he's flying like Iron Man since well...he can do that in the comics

I like half of the suit's on this, list because some of them we haven't seen in spider-man games before an it felt amazing for both peter an miles wearing different heroes costumes or making their own versions of suits based on other heroes in marvel comics.

For me, Advanced Suit 2.0 is number #1. I fell in love with the white spider logo and the red and blue really pops both in day and night.

The 2099 suit was intended to be red and black. However, when Shattered Dimensions happened it made Miguel’s suit blue, so all future portrayals made his suit blue. This is why I like Insomniac naming it the Black 2099 suit, as well as allow you to use a more accurate version in the black and red recolor.

I think after the hissyfit Spider-Man fans made to get the Raimi suit in 5 years ago it makes total sense why they included all the movie suits and I really appreciate that even if I’m not gonna wear some of them

The classic symbioit suit has the best styles.

The old spider-man movies had multiple suits also. Raimi had Human Spider, Classic, and Black. Amazing had the Vigilante suit, the Amazing Suit, and it's Classic Suit.

I don’t personally love the MCU Iron Spider suit, but you have to remember that A LOT of younger Spider-Man have grown up with it as a staple suit. It appeared in 5 movies, which is more than any other cinematic Spider-Man suit to date. Not only would a lot of people be upset if it wasn’t included, but imo it looks better in this game universe than the films itself

I remember how in my comment on Pup’s most recent Spidey suit ranking video, I put the MCU Upgraded suit at #1 and later edited it to include the main Insomniac suits, O’Hara’s movie suits, and Tom’s Civil War test suit mainly so I could talk about the Advanced Suit 2.0 and put that at #2, but now that the game is out, I’m slightly going back on it, after 4 years, the MCU Upgraded suit has been dethroned as my favorite Spider-Man suit by the Advanced Suit 2.0, that for me is absolute perfection

I feel like it was a massive missed opportunity that there wasn't a black and white shader for Superior. In the comics Otto did have the venom symbiote for a time.

From one Classic Suit stan to another… I agree that the Classic Suit in SM 2 is absolutely amazing, but the red and navy blue, almost black version of it was JAW DROPPING!! Although I love Spider-Man being more red and blue, being more of a Mark Bagley, Erik Larson fan (which made the big McFarlene style eyes in the Anti Venom suit absolutely stunning to me). That said, the early Lee and Ditko comic run is one of the best runs Spider-Man ever had, and the Ditko esque Red and Black (or Navy Blue) style was probably one of my most used suits because Ditko is a solid 3rd place in my top five Spider-Man artist. Only thing that would have made me more hype would have been seeing an actual Ditko style suit with the Ditko shaped lenses and spider logo, with a blue spider style option for those wanting to go less Amazing Spider-Man and more Amazing Fantasy #15

The advance suit 2.0 is absolutely amazing but if almost all the live action suits weren't in the game It would be in my top 10

I have a theory that Spider-Verse’s Miguel and Hobie r gonna show up in some DLC. That’s why there suits aren’t available plus it would make since bc Insomniac’s Peter shows up in Across The Spider-Verse and DLC could be a way of explaining why he’s there

You're right, Kumo is indeed Japanese for spider.

I thought I was the only one that was straight up foaming from the mouth at the dark blue classic suit. I spent most of the game ignoring it because I thought it was just black and red, which I personally don’t like as Spider-Man’s color scheme but when I finally threw it on, I didn’t take it off willingly for the rest of the game. Absolutely gorgeous rendition.

To be fair, the spider-man from secret wars actually doesn't wear his spider masks since he revealed is secret identity.

I’m not a fan of taking the black webbing off of the stark suit in this game. They just made the suit look like an empty basketball with no lining.

I like how the Anti-Venom suit's eyes look like the Todd McFarlane eyes

The new blue suit is from a recent run where spider man joined the fantastic 4 and that was his suit, I do love the red version though a lot better. Also, the life story suit is significant for Peter and miles because in life story, everything that happened to spider man pre reboots and what not, panned out as that, Peter’s married to Mary Jane, old, and recruits miles as a partner, and in turn sacrifices his life to a world ending threat in space, old and fulfilled, which IMO expresses what Peter and MJ want in the game. Plus, I highly recommend reading it, good story, comicstorian made a video about it👌

I definitely recommend reading Life Story, it's an interesting elseworlds take on the character. I'm not a fan of some choices in the story, but it's still a good story.

I just realized. Y’all who were haters for disliking the new black suit for its armor, think of it this way. The agent venom suit that Harry wore was made with armor for protection, then when it merged with Peter, it still kept the armor aspect from Harry because that was its most recent host. Then later on when it becomes the symbiote suit, it’s been on him long enough to actually become a suit because it’s completely bonded with Peter. Then that’s why venom had no armor because Peter was its most recent host at that time.

for future reference its a lot more entertaining for you to record gameplay in the suits you're talking about instead of just showing us a still and then completely unrelated footage.

i think all the mcu suits are there to make the game more accessible to newer fans. some people have only seen the spider-man movies and those are more recent and recognizable to a more casual fan which makes having all the movie suits make sense.

I agree with your top 3 for sure, that Navy blue classic suit is perfection, while TASM2 and New Blue are perfect lighter blue suits

For me my favorite suit for Peter is the Scarlett 3 suit though I like classic symbiote suit better than black suit and symbiote suit but i like anti venom suit better than white with black accent variant of classic symbiote suit. Favorite Miles suit is either upgraded classic with white and red accent variant option or the white variant option of the mysterio suit. Still wish both spider men had a sort of no suit where we ignore the fact their faces would be exposed and we just swing around as either Peter or Miles out of costume.

Just a reminder, we didn’t get a normal Spider-Verse Peter Parker in this game… but, we got the inside out suit?

CP the Civil War Spider-Man suit was supposed to be a mixture of the Falcon and Spiderman.

Ultimately the MCU Spider-Man isn't that bad, he only has six suits in five movies. Homemade, Stark, Iron Spider, Stealth, Upgrade, and New Red and Blue. All the "other suits" are just the upgrade suit with different stuff on it.

I think the Arachoknight suit is a Moon Knight reference, rather than an assassin’s creed crossover

I actually predicted that all the movie suits (including the nonessential MCU ones) would return for this game, and I was right for the most part. Only one I got wrong for the movie suits was the spider verse suit, and that still confuses me.

Ok pup two things I need to explain as a fan of the comics just to put more spiderman knowledge from one fan to another the arachknight suit is from infinity warps where a bunch of marvel heroes are fused together and Arachknight is the combination of Spiderman and Moon Knight and the new blue suit is a fantastic 4 suit

I think MCU Iron Spider fits in pretty well (even if I don’t care for it’s design more than the comic version) since Peter’s combat has a huge focus on the spider arms since they’re his first set of abilities.

Given how similar the MCU suits are, you'd think they could just use the style system to have the Stark suit, Upgraded suit, Iron Spider suit and Hybrid suit in one slot. Maybe give the new MCU it's own slot since it's the most different. And even though it would be neat to have Spider-Punk, Peter should not be the one wearing it. Don't think blackface is a good look for Parker. Although it would be a nice unintentional reference to that time he accused JJ of being racist.

They add Cape physics into this game. Uses it only for 3 suits. I need my 2099 web cape.

The mcu iron spider suit reasoning is interesting. I love the iron spider suit I’m glad it’s in the game. You said you don’t think anyone would be happy with the suit being in the game but I am and I’m sure many others are I just don’t get why the want of others would have to do with your ranking.
