From my observation, Godzilla and Mothra share the mantle quite accurately as "King" and "Queen". Mothra as Queen, shields, protects, and nurtures those under their charge, while Godzilla as King charges the battlefield to deal with the source of the trouble directly. Queen and King, Shield and Sword/Axe/Spear

Shimu caused the ice age, an era that the Earth naturally survived and returned from. But Ghidorah’s presence alone caused hurricanes, storms, lighting and thunderstorms that caused damage to the surrounding area as well as destroying Skull Island. I feel this alone makes him the most powerful titan to ever exist, despite him not being from Earth

@@elford3906 I was thinking about how this movie should have started... Like showing Earth 100,000 years ago. Right away we see Godzilla, Shimo and Mothra battling Ghidorah and Shimo does freeze him, it's a short fight. Then later the trio separate as they have done their duty but it's clear that Shimo is Godzilla's friend. As Shimo goes to his lair, the crazy apes attack her and Skar King shows up, managing to take part of a crystal from her and use it to command her. Then we see Godzilla and Mothra come by his lair and even call out to her and since she doesn't respond, they follow a trail of ice to where the apes are and then Godzilla and Mothra are ambushed by the ape army and a reluctant Shimo forceyd to attack his allies. Then Godzilla and Mothra trap them in the pit because they can't fight an army. Flash forward to today and the movie begins.

I know this always ends up being a giant debate in the fandom, but…. You’re not wrong. Godzilla would have defeated King Ghidorah in the ocean. It’s his natural habitat. However KG would have won in Boston if it wasn’t for the people interfering(including the orca) and Mothra coming to his aide. Not to mention the plot armor. It is Godzilla’s story. Not likely going to die or lose for long.

Yeah until that point Godzilla really didn't bother humans too much but when we basically said oops, sorry, friendly fire. We meant to kill the three headed one. The only reason Godzilla had to go through humans was for radioactive mass.

i know i'm late to this but i would have really liked to see godzilla and mothra share more screen time in kotm. if i remember correctly they never actually directly interacted with one another. it would have been really cool to have just one scene showing how godzilla actually respects mothra and treats her as an equal instead of their only interaction being mothra webbing up ghidora so godzilla can tackle ghidora through a building, and mothra dying to make godzilla go full thermo atomic mode. i hope she is in gxk and we get a little more of that, bc i find their relationship to be really cool, but criminally underdeveloped on screen. shes a bamf, and zilla knows it.

I wonder if scar king and shimo even heard ghidorahs alpha call? Because maybe being inside the hollow earth blocks it somehow. Or maybe ghidorahs call made scar king want to break how of the hollow earth and challenge ghidorah for rule of all. With shimo at his side he could probably take on ghidorah and win. Dream match up, shimo and rodan and scar king vs ghidorah and mechagodzilla, and the male muto. I think thats a pretty close match up.

I mean personally I think it could be either variants, I think Godzilla is an alpha from combat since he has nothing special ( other than nuclear power but that was the bomb ) while Mothra clearly fits the Natural alpha criteria. Either could be correct

So for me i think that each group of titans could have more than one alpha even, since you need more than one alpha to have fights for leadership. Like Kong an scar kong/king for instance both could be said to be rival alphas, and one choose to fallow while the other choose to reject the call of Ghidorah. In the same way that if Godzilla had made the call kong might have choose to fallow it while Scar king/kong would choose to reject fallowing it. I would say that a alpha is just some of the top most potent members within a specific group of titans which fight over the leadership, just as the top alphas of each titan groups fight for the crown.

Man, the Monsterverse is so fascinating!

I wouldn't consider Shimo to be an Alpha. I watched the New Empire movie and when she was free from Scar King's control she was wonder what to do now until Godzilla roar at her which I would intrepid as a command to freeze the ape that used you as a slave. If she was an Alpha she would just simply ignore that roar and high tail back to hollow earth, but she obey the command. Also she allow Kong another Alpha to ride her back to the other Kong and even allow him to stroke her which is another sign that she's not an Alpha.

I don’t think so especially with both the axe and the beast glove he can easily take rodan out long is very physically strong only bieng surprised by gojirra ghidora and shimo in terms of physical raw power so with the beast glove amping it and allowing him to actually hit rodan that bird is losing in three hits long just has better feats rodan list to four blows from mothra not that mothra is weak but she isn’t even top 5 in terms of power and rodan lost pretty bad

Rodan is a POWERFUL titan, he can cause earthquakes just from a weakly thrust of his wings. The only reason he got demolished is because he wasn't in it's primal form, he was an adult but he wasn't fully evolved and was full of fear because of that. He knew he wasn't that strong. He could've been a good contestant of Godzilla, kong, shimo or any other titan if he was entirely evolved. He could've probably sent Godzilla flying miles back from a thrust of his wings if he was in his prime.

You forgot the two most powerful Titans: Jet Jaguar and King Caesar.

Rodan doesn’t count as an alpha because as we’ve seen in the 2019 movie, he’s easily swayed and constantly switches sides and just follows alpha titans. He has no strong will of his own like for example kong and mothra, who completely ignored Ghidorah’s alpha call and had wills strong enough to resist it. The fight in boston made it awfully clear too. He was the only non alpha titan out of all four of them and it showed. He got his ass handed to him by two alpha titans in one movie. First one is Ghidorah, then Mothra won against him even though he had the advantage of jumping her and catching her by surprise.

I feel like the title of Alpha is best explained like a shiny Pokemon, like each of the Pokemon are similar with different stats and think of the Alpha being like a shiny, rare and random, but in the monsterverse sense, each of the species has once of theirs be a potential alpha, with Godzilla being a special case. The titans all have jobs, Scylla and Shimo can cool the planet, Behemoth can help Forrest’s grow, I’m guessing even Tiamat could like cause flash floods to put out Forrest fires, and Rodan could even help cause fires in case there is a section of dead Forrest that is dying due to disease or something. And the Gojira have less of an impact on nature and are more meant to keep the others ones in check, keep the metaphorical machine of nature working. However I’m guessing they had the same sort of Genetic thing the other titans have that I explained, meaning Godzilla would be the ultimate one, the Alpha of the Alphas

My two questions have always been: How does the Monsterverse Gidorah species know about other titans being on the planet or are titans apart of every planet in the Monsterverse? I believe that Shimo and Ghidorah are both S tier titans in the monsterverse. Godzilla, MechaGodzilla, and Kong are all A tier titans. Scar King and the M.U.T.O.s are both B tier titans. Rodan, Scylla, Behemoth, Tiamat, Mega Skull Crawler, Warbat, and Mothra are all C tier titans. And then Suko, Doug, Skull Crawler, and Wart Dog are all D tier titans. And then the Hell Hawks are F tier titans.

Oh my, you could not be more wrong about Mothra. She is S Class. She is the one who through her vast intellect and telepathic abilities, manipulates Godzilla and now maybe even Kong, to take down her opponents. She wields power in a distinctly feminine way and gets big bruisers to do her dirty work for her.

@allankolenovsky7028 so your argument is that Mothra is an S tier because she has the ability to influence Godzilla and maybe a little bit Kong. Okay, well, my counter argument to that is that Godzilla nor Kong are S tier titans themselves. The only way that Godzilla can defeat Ghidorah is by turning into Fire Godzilla. Not even a supercharged Godzilla was able to defeat Ghidorah. And also, the only way that Godzilla stood any chance against Shimo, is if he becomes evolved Godzilla. Therefore, Godzilla has to power up significantly just to defeat these true S tier titans. Also, Mothra has already gone up against an S tier titan, she went up against Ghidorah and he one shot killed her.

@@studentdriver3237 You are VASTLY underestimating just how potent her intelligence and telepathic abilities are. You also seem to be focusing solely on physical prowess as a sole measure for power. If we could go back to the start of the 17th Century, I'd be very much interested in seeing how you would faire telling Queen Elizabeth that she is not powerful because she is physically weak. Mothra sacrificed herself to save Godzilla in KOTM because the idiot humans reduced her options down to one by preventing Godzilla from getting the kill-shot on Ghidora when he had him in the water. And yes, Godzilla would have ended it all right then and there when he had Ghidora in the water. Shimo was never really the problem. Skar King was because he could control Shimo. Without any means of controlling Shimo, Mothra could have easily pacified her. Kong did just that all by himself by....being Kong (he's one really big and REALLY nice monkey). Now he has a big happy puppy.

I have a theory on the alpha titans. I would categorize them by Alpha Elites and Same species Alphas. • Alpha Elites would be the Alphas who can rule other species. They must be able to Enforce their rule even if they defeat an alpha titan. We can categorize this type of Alpha into 2 other categories -Born Alpha- Titans who were born into alpha status. They're commonly apex titans. Has an alpha call. Examples -Godzilla -Mothra -Combat Alphas- Titans who earn their alpha status by combat. They could get their alpha status by subjugating other titans or defeating an alpha. They're an alpha who are alpha only by respect or fear. Though defeating an alpha doesn't always automatically means that the titans who belonged to the defeated alpha would transfer to the new alpha, they must subjugate their new subjects before becoming an alpha Examples -Titanus Kongs ( Kong and skar king ) -Tiamat ( If she defeated Godzilla and subjugated the other titans ) • Same species titan. Titans who are titans in their species. Same species titans can be an alpha elite if they become a combat alpha. Doesn't have an alpha call. Examples -Muto/Muto prime -Skull crawlers/Ramarak

Ghidorah did not do the most damage shimo did by freezing the entire earth

Considering there are lot of Godzilla sub species,I think there might be stronger species of Shimo that might actually be the one that freeze Ghidorah in the past

I believe Rodan is an alpha titan... although he lost to Ghidorah, he attempted to fight one on one without hesitation after Ghidorah presented himself...only after defeat as well as perceived death of Godzilla did he bow...also in Godzilla vs Kong, there was a mention of Rodan being defeated by Godzilla showing that there was a challenge...

At the time yes but know both Godzilla and shimo rain over him Godzilla is stated to be 20x stronger than his nuke amped form/gvk self so he would just scale above ghidora and shimo is the one who froze ghidora so that’s that he’s still too three do

After godzilla x kong, KONG AND GODZILLA are two true alpha's. Plus kong really got his whole ape kingdom AND SHIMO as his pet. SHIMO was never a alpha infact she's just a very powerful beta, now it looks like she'll be with kong for a while kong being the sole king of hollow earth and godzilla and mothra as the king and queen on surface.

So. I think the general rule of “Who is an Alpha Titan” should really follow under one guideline: Did they follow the call of Ghidorah? As far as we know, only 3 Titans did not: Godzilla, Mothra, and Kong. We can’t quite count Skar King yet because we don’t know if Ghidorah’s call reached the Hollow Earth. But we could potentially count Shimo because she is being dubbed “Mother of all Titans” However, an argument could be made that she’s not because Skar King has control over her. Whether it’s mind control or it could even be that Skar King once beat Shimo in a fight. We hopefully will find out in GxK, so we technically can’t count Shimo just yet. Personally I do believe the Shimo IS an Alpha Titan being mind controlled somehow, while Skar King got his Alpha Status BECAUSE of Shimo. But if we also want to talk about who is the TRUE Alpha, then right now it’s Godzilla. In the present of the Monsterverse, there has only been 1 Alpha of Alpha’s, and that’s Godzilla. Even counting Ghidorah’s short reign.

Thus the symbiotic relationship they have. Typical King and Queen like. Mothra is most definitely an Alpha as well. She is actually more powerful then she seems. Godzilla would have had gehdora battling in the ocean had the humans not intervene with the oxygen destroyer weapon gehdora doesn't need oxygen as Godzilla does gehdora has an edge both on land & in the sky but gehdora doesn't move well in the ocean gehdora has traveled through space where there is no oxygen that's why gehdora wasn't affected much with the oxygen destroyah if you watch the ocean battle closely Godzilla was moments away from victory

Godzilla was overpowered and might have been ended by Shimu when she froze Godzilla and was coming close to possibly smash Godzilla. But Mothra interrupted Shimu's ice blast and Godzilla was able to break free.

How come in the hallow earth scar king and Shimo looked small but when they came to earth they was much bigger ?

I wouldn't consider MUTO prime an alpha tier kaiju. He was beating Godzilla because it is a literal anti Godzilla monster. It has his every counter built directly into it. This makes it insanely strong while fighting Godzilla specifically. One of the many MUTO abilities is to weaken, or fully shut off his atomic breath. That's why it was so weak looking in the first movie. They essentially drain his power by being next to him. I can't say it would fair as well against other titans that actually have the title. Godzilla and mothra beat Ghidorah before. I bet MUTO prime couldn't no matter who was on his team.
