Many of you have told me you can do the crowd shortcut on lap 1! I just learned it, and you have to drift off the ramp instead of tricking, then release an orange mini turbo towards the crowd. From my bit of testing, the shortcut is nearly identical speed to taking the regular path. It's a better line, but with no MT trick and a forced slowdown during the sharp turn, and you miss 2 coins. But it's cool!

ALSO, if you drive to the far right off the glider ramp, you can loop around the rear of the large monument and there’s a group of coins! It doesn’t save time, but it’s such a cool addition!
