I finally found this video after searching. I remember watching this years ago. Now I found it. I've been going through some weird identity crisis type of thing and my ex leaving me hasnt be helping me and other stuff I've been hearing isnt helping either but this video makes me think beyond why people act a certain why. Most important why I act the way I do and why my indentify is changing and I wish sometimes people would put themselves in my shoes but they don't and it hurts. I was try to put myself in others shoes in order to feel empathy. Thank you Andy for this video it really enlightens me. I wish we could philosophize sometime.

thanks Andy, I really needed that perspective right now in my life. people do things I don't understand, but you're right when you say they have their own reasons for whatever they do. Accepting that takes time.

I am so happy that you are finally taking time to make a video like this. I've only seen one version of Andy. I like this one. It shows that there is a real person inside there somewhere.

I love it when you take time to put these extremely deep videos up... most people don't delve into this sort of mentality once in their lives, much less on a more fluent basis. Also it goes well as a nice contrast to prove to the world that you don't have to be stupid and ignorant to be goofy and lewd... I myself have always been an avid advocate of intelligence not having to bind one to a life of mediocre seriousness and boredom.

I really liked this and I think that you're right. I'm a big fan of yours. I have been for a long time. You're really funny and you're a great comedian, but I really think this says a lot about you and I think I may be an even bigger fan now than before. This is the real side of you that no one really gets to see, and I enjoyed the chance to see it. Thank you so much, for sharing :)

Great vid Andy, what your talking about is simply called compassion, which can be in short supply in societies who are so caught up in trying to get ahead, ironically because of the reality tunnel they have formed but in essence is nothing more than an evolutionary tendency. People want to judge and detach themselves from others in an instant because of some level they think acceptance will hold them back, or interfere with the fragile nature of their own reality tunnel (ego).

I also watching a commentary Wilson has on KZread on Quantum Mechanics. I found a memorable line from Wilson's blog a few days before he died: "I look forward without dogmatic optimism but without dread. I love you all and I deeply implore you to keep the lasagna flying. Please pardon my levity, I don't see how to take death seriously. It seems absurd." Lastly, he was one of my favorite marijuana advocates of the legalization echelon; he was a prime example of how it drastically enhances life.

That's why they say first impressions are the most important. We're all wired to sum up quick assessments of another person and form fast judgements. It takes patience and tolerance to get past this gut-instinct, and be able to appreciate people for their own individuality.

When taking reality into consideration it's always important to interject the question "Who am I?" in there at some point, because the answer is so obvious that almost everyone overlooks it. It's not a riddle, it just doesn't have any words because there's no symbol for something that isn't a symbol itself. It's like the Alan Watts saying "Don't mistake the noise for the word 'but the noise is the word' I couldn't have said it any better," and thus the ego was hallucinated into being.

You limit someone elses humanity to make dealing with them easier and less stressful. Not knowing, insecurity, causes a great deal of stress so we cut corners by having simple and finite views of people around us.

It's not about justification......it's the fact that we see someone do something or say something and we immediately react and make a judgement about that person, like, why would that person do that, he must be this.....we can't really know the person's motives, in their reality there was a reason for their actions, we have to acknowledge that instead of quickly making it about us "how dare he do "blank" what an asshole".....
