Awesome reaction. I'm not sure if you got the background on this song or not. It's full of metaphors for all the emotions Tuomas felt after the band fired their first front woman Tarja Turunen. Nightwish is everything to him, and it was fire her, or the band was going to split apart and he couldn't let that happen.They were childhood friends and went to school together. It crushed him to have to fire her and he went into a deep depression after that. The media and fans turned on him and blamed him for Tarja's firing. Glad you enjoyed it. Knowing the background, I cry every time I hear this song.

@@shadow6269 Annette replaced Tarja in 2005, then Floor replaced Annette in late 2012. The reasoning behind the firings are simi-secret, which is expected. Typically artists don't like to air their differences to the public. Long story short, Tarja's husband was a big part of why she was fired. Annette and the band just grew apart as I understand it. Personality clash or whatever you want to call it. Jukka suffers from insomnia and had to quit touring. He is still with the band and is their CEO and handles all the finances now. Kai from Wintersun now tours with Nightwish and Wintersun as the drummer for both groups I believe. Since about 2015ish I think because I know it's Kai drumming in the 2015 Tempere show and it was still Jukka in the 2013 Waken show. So sometime between those two shows is when Jukka had to stop touring with them.

@Shadow Tarja was the first singer and friends with Tuomas before the band was created. Their artistic and personal relationship soured after she married. Her husband became her manager and increasingly clashed with the other band members and Nightwish management. Tarja was aiming for a solo career and was hoping for a smooth transition to her departure, but the tensions had already reached a breaking point and she was fired quite unceremoniously via an open letter. Annete replaced her. It's not too clear the circunstances that led to her departure, but a series of conflicts with the band arose throught the Imaginaerum World Tour, like her getting pregnant when she knew that a two-year tour was already scheduled and her very bitchy reaction to the band using guest singers for a concert she couldn't do due to sickness. Floor Jansen was asked to replace her mid-tour as an emergency solution and later, invited to be a full time member. Jukka is afected by severe imsonnia so he had to step down from drum duties. It is not known if he ever recover well enough to be back on the kit. Right now, he is still with Nightwish in a managerial capacity.

@@casualcarolinafishing5835 It was not Kai drumming only in the shows. Jukka stepped back in 2014 and Kai is the drummer in the EFMB studio recordings too.. As going to be in the recordings of the new album.

First react channel I've seen that does it right. Takes their time and goes back to listen to parts of the song again. Now this kind of react channel I can get behind.

Props to Tuomas( the keyboard player) for keeping this band together, all these years and for providing us- the unworthy- with these EPIC shows. Props to Tuomas for writing nearly every song performed, for our consumption. May the greatness of Nightwish current line up never fail.. What you are experiencing is a phenomenon. Take in these two concerts- NW from Wacken and NW from Tampere -- enjoy the once in a lifetime journey that is Nightwish..

Annette would be absolutely hated so soon after the break up and she sounded not one bit worthy of NW (which is my opinion). I couldn't bear to listen to Annette. She wasn't Tarja. But Floor I already knew and loved. When I saw Floor was with NW I celebrated SO happy! I had my NW back!!!!!!

Best of musical virtuosity + best of theatre + best of storytelling = Nightwish

i've been digitally screaming this on everyy nightwish reaction video i've watched. that performance is the magnum opus of symphonic metal and one of if not the best of this modern era in general.

I am a hardcore rocker and never heard of Nightwish until yesterday and without your channel probably never would of.....It just amazes me that before yesterday I've never heard of this band, but after I saw your reaction to it, I have noticed all the other people that react to videos are doing Nightwish now.....bro you are the leader and all others are followers, you are genuine, you respect, your real. The same bands tend to get covered on reaction channels because they are bands with the more rabbid fanbases that flood reaction channels with requests. Not putting them down or anything because they do whats gotta be done to get their favorites reacted to.

I agree. He holds the basslines with perfection while singing like a beast over them. He is an alpha version of Geddy Lee! Marco is my favorite part of Nightwish. I hate to single out because this is definitely a band driven by chemistry. Every member as important as any.

It's like modern opera. You can feel emotionally drained by the end of their songs, they are so packed with so much emotion and musicianship.

This is huge huge praise to give. But she is the female version of Freddie Mercury. Simply flawless.

you need remember in 2013 she had just joined the band and had been with them for a few months before that video was done. Now she has been with them for a few years and really feels comfortable in what she is doing. Went and saw them back a few months ago in Austin with my niece who is 6 ft 3 and Floor is taller than my niece and she can rock they went for almost 2 hours at the show. It totally rocked.

I am absolutely a die hard Taraj fan, but holy hell, can Floor sing.

I just went back and listened the original with Anette Olzon. People can bicker over Tarja vs Floor. But when I listen Floor singing Anette's songs, Anette Olzon seems like Iron Maiden's Virtual XI album - best pretending like it never happened and move on...

Floor is a metal head through and through. Don't let her angelic vocals fool you! She's quite the demon when it comes to headbanging. ;) Other Nightwish performances ya just gotta see sometime, that many others have already suggested- From their Wacken 2013 show; Dark Chest of Wonders Storytime Romanticide Ghost River Ever Dream Song of Myself From Tampere; Weak Fantasy Stargazers The Greatest Show on Earth (literally!) Yours is an Empty Hope - Live from the Nightwish Cruise 7 Days to the Wolves - Live at Barona Arena And hopefully soon we'll have some official live videos from the Decades tour that they just concluded a couple of days ago.

I just had to take a screen shot of your comment and say thank you for the list. This is the 2nd Nightwish song I'm going to get to experience after seeing so many recommendations for Ghost Love Score in the comments on his Sound of Silence reaction. Now I have some idea what to watch next. The only Nightwish I'd heard before was Phantom of the Opera many, many years ago as I love anything POTO. However I was not expecting what I got when I watched GLS @ Wacken. There are no words to describe it. X🤟🏻🤞🏻

What I like about Nighwish live perfomances is... just look at how genuinely happy Emppu always looks. He never seems stressed or the tiniest bit worried. Always casually walking around, talking with people, playing guitar and always smiling. You should watch the Nightwish movie "Imaginearum". Really. You should watch it.

I believe your ready to see The Greatest Show On Earth live @Tampere. Be warn though, it will blow you away and appreciate true art.

This band is on a completely different level than most other bands. It's super long, doesn't feel like it,and you never want it to end. Absolutely amazing. Check out The Islander and Greatest Show on Earth!

I think it was more her trying to get the perfect performance of Ghost Love Score and thuis being more focussed on her singing then actual stage presence. If u watch other songs from that show she is way more active and confident on stage.

Thank you Preston, for the awesome Reaction as always!! Nightwish is truly one of a kind with this current singer!!! They had two other singers, one operatic, the other more pop, Floor (their current singer) can and does it all and then some!!! Yes she’s that good!!! I suggest either another Epic song- Greatest Show on Earth-live.... or to see Floor rock out and head bang, go with Romanticide or Storytime, Dark Chest of Wonders from Wacken 2013 live.. the last 3 are shorter songs, but definitely awesome....

That’s a Great Duet for sure... Floor singing Epica’s song as good as she does... craziness!!! I love Epica, but Floor is the Queen. Love this though!!

Marco has been in metal bands since the 80s, Tarot was his first project. If you want to see how well he can sing they did a cover of Pink Floyd's High Hopes in End of an Era, which is so perfect. For a great duet between him and Floor look up Ave Maria, I had a Marcogasim and Floorgasim at the same time.

I am glad to see that you feel Nightwish as deeply as I do. There is something about their sound that resonates within my very being. I see Nightwish as having transcended the Gods when they tapped into the power of the Titan Floor Jansen!

Always loved Nightwish, Tuomas as the genious writer, Marco with hes raspy voice and devilish eyes, Tarja the first vocalist who started up with the band and set a huge milestone in her era. When i see Nightwish today i love them even more. Floor Jansen and the band in general, the feel of it. Its fucking amazing. I fucking love this band. Its one of the best things ive seen ever and prob will be for a long time still. :) Keep up the good work Preston, this channel has started to really grow on me!

Floor is a metal queen, one of the things that makes her amazing. She isnt the girly girl like the previous singers were (those were amazing too) but Floor is a queen and a warrior princess at the same time. Well amazon if you see how tall she is. Btw. as a request for a future reaction. Something of the Band Dimmu Borgir which is another giant in a different metal style. Every album brings you in a new direction. - interdimensional summit would be cool. Older stuff like Morning Palace, or sacriligious scorn can be nice too. (bit harder though)

Nightwish is my favorite band. They have had a few different vocalists over the years. Vocalist changes work out fine though because the band is about the songwriting not a specific vocalist. The keyboardist tuomas hollopain writes all the music and all the lyrics for all the songs (except for a very small handful). He basically being the visionary and writer is the heart of the band. The first 5 albums tarja was the main singer, albums 6 and 7 the singer was Annette, and album 8 and upcoming 9th is floor ( the vocalist you have been reacting to). Ghost love score was a Tasha era song, poet and pendulum is a Annette era song. Marcos ( male vocals and bass on album 4 through upcoming 9th), tuomas (the keyboardist who writes all the music/ lyrics) did male vocals on 1st album, male vocals on 2nd album was a guest spot from another band for 2 songs, no male vocals on 3rd album ( unless you count a few spoken word parts). "Like watching a play" - They actually made a movie, and it's very emotional. Tuomas (the composer behind it all, on the keyboards) is all about images and poetry. And on the latest album he adds themes of science and reason, showing that there is not necessarily a contradiction. It's great.

You are one of the only channels that I laugh out loud to. I absolutely lose my shit when you see metal that's so beautiful and amazing that it just fries your brain for a second and you just try to think of what to say and not be speechless (because of how happy it makes me feel to see someone enjoying this art-form).
