Agree, honestly just following the sequence where Meg and Apollo go face down the foe from the very first book, Nero, and his threat to do something that the historical figure is know fir(starting the Great Fire of Rome) felt poetic. I also very much remember when Nero’s immortality was traded in the most funny way possible. But, even after he was defeated, the fight with Python, and missing his first shot was a great depiction of the entire series. A joking, but serious task

100% agree with you on The House of Hades, I loved the parts of Percy and Annabeth in Tartarus. Whenever it would go aways for them I would just keep reading till it went back❤
it always make me so sad how people don't like The Lost Hero because Percy is not in it. I went into the book thinking it was another whole series apart from PJO, i never expected Percy or anyone from that world to be in it and i think that's why i liked it so much more than most people. Also i love Jason's character and doesn't deserve the hate he gets 😭😭

I just didn't like the dynamic between Piper, Jason and Leo. each of them was individually interesting, but the 3 of them as a trio really didn't fit. Thats why it got way better in Mark of Athena because Piper and Annabeth have a nice dynamic, Jason and Percy have a great dynamic, and Leo and Frank have one of the best dynamics ever.

Unpopular opinion but i had no trouble connecting with Jason, Piper and Leo. I did miss Percy but i absolutely loved The lost Hero
My other favorite reviewer of the Percy Jackson books made the point that unlike other young adult couples in YA books, when Percy and Annabeth fall into Tartarus, rather than fight with each other, they immediately say; "Ok, we are going to get through this, together." She also pointed out how Percy struggled the most with his anger in the House of Hades, (See where he uses his water powers to manipulate poison in somebody). As I was writing this, I just realized how Rick Riorden can turn a dramatic scary situation into something completely bizarre and it totally works. (See Annabeth saying, 'lets get a picture of you with your favorite child'.

Wait, there are graphic novels of the books?!?! Well, I know what I'll be doing this week!
I love Titan’s Curse. It truly started Percy Jackson for me. Zoe’s transformation from being skeptical of Percy to saying she was honored he held Riptide is definitely one of my favorite moments in the book.
I swear The Burning Maze gives me PTSD
I didn't even read the lost hero until i ended the heros of Olympus series and I still understanded everything. This tells a lot
Early! The quality is literally getting better each vid! Keep it up Morgan!!
0:09 lol even when he’s making a PJ video, he just can’t help but dress like Harry Potter😂
Could you make video breaking down the contents of every prophecy in all of the Riordan verse, foreshadowing of lines and the eventual conclusions. I think it would be very compelling
While it hurts to hear The Lost Hero as low as it is it makes sense. The Lost Hero was actually my introduction to Riordan's book series, as I had only heard of Percy Jackson but never read the books until after I finished the Heroes of Olympus and I read all of the Heroes of Olympus books except for the Son of Neptune as the library I got them from always had it out of stock. I did manage to read PJO and rereading HoO all in chronological order 6 years ago and I loved it so while I get it's low spot it's my first book so maybe it holds a greater meaning to me I guess.
I actually did stop reading Rick Riordan after the 2nd TOA, I hated it, and making me stop was a real challenge cause I was obsessed with Heroes of Olympus (the House of Hades is also my favourite of his by a considerable margin because of the Percy/Annabeth stuff too), I do put quite a considerable gap between all the original 5 and HOO that you don't have though.

@@limitlesscord7319 I was anxious the entire time I was reading BM because of that, I had to step away from the book and do a couple laps around my house, but I would definitely say that the 2nd half of the TOA series was stronger since we actually saw Apollo starting to change into a better person.
2:35 trust me, I read the LH BEFORE any of the main series (it was the first I found in the library), and I loved it. It's just the shock of it not having Percy
I almost completely agree with your rankings. The only main differences are that I have no nostalgia for The Lightning Thief, so I would rank it much lower. And I had an easier time adjusting to not having Percy in a book and can say The Lost Hero does the classic adventure formula better than practically every other book in the series. Every single encounter is interesting and well paced, with a fun antagonist.
Out of all the Camp Half-Blood Series The Titans Cruse is my all time favorite Percy Jackson book!

Yeah, Titan’s Curse and Battle of the Labyrinth were the first Riordan books I’ve read. I was introduced to the films but those books are what got me into this series. It might’ve a messy way to be introduced but that’s fine by me.
Although I don't agree with all of your rankings, I enjoyed the reasoning behind them and am glad you're still making new percy jackson stuff. Always a good day when you post thanks for the great videos!
My favorite book is The last olympian, it is just magical to me, it was the first I read when I was eleven, after that I bought all the others
Thank you, Morgan. Thank you for making Rick Riordan content. I’ve read the books when I was younger…admittedly because of the movies (I had bad tastes but it introduced me to the series). I’ve read almost all the books Riordan has made for this world and I’m glad for it. It’s nice to see another KZreadr online talking about this series. Please do more Riordan content.

Been watching your videos for so long! Love your work
In the olympians series it’s titans curse #1. For Heros mark of Athena is #1. For trials of Apollo, it’s probably the tower of Nero. The Shakespeare arrows sacrifice was so sad. Also will you be doing a review on the trials of Apollo, chalice of the gods and the sun and the star?
Loves the video, would LOVE to see more videos like this for some of the other franchises you talk about!
I’m glad that in the TOA that Piper and Jason break up. I thought they work way better as friends than as lovers. I wished I got to see more of their friendship though. Jason’s sacrifice is so heartbreaking. I loved his character. I loved how he got glasses, and him being Thalia’s brother. His and Leo’s friendship was so good as well!
Finally a new percy jackson vid can you do more pls?
Great video keep it up you're doing amazing things 😁👍
Any book that shows off how powerful everyone is or their wholesome and cute dynamics are always the best ones.
My ranking is from worst to best (Only from the Lightning Thief to Blood of Olympus, reread 3 times) 11. The Blood of Olympus (Honestly, weakest. I absolutely love it, don't get me wrong, but still, I think the ending is a bit weak for me) 10. The Lost Hero (Again, I absolutely love it, but just wasn't as good as the other ones) 9. The Sea of Monsters (A fun book but definetly the weakest in PJO) 8. The Chalice of the Gods (Just a fun adventure book too, nothing really special. Still love the return to the sort of light feeling, and the same vibes that HOO lacks sometimes) 7. The Lightning Thief (A good start but other ones are better) 6. The Son of Neptune (VERY good, I absolutely love it, but still, again, better options out there) 5. The Battle of the Labyrinth (I love this book, Percabeth moments are absolutely neat, and the Labyrinth def is one of the best plots in the series) 4. The House of Hades (Tartarus plotline is the strongest plot point in the Heroes of Olympus. However, doesn't beat the Mark of Athena for me) 3. The Mark of Athena (Annabeth is 100% my favorite character, and seeing her POV for the first time makes this book pretty high for me. I absolutely love MoA) 2. The Last Olympian (Perfect way to end PJO, I loved the climax and just in general, I just love this book) 1. The Titan's Curse (By far the best book in the series. I could write a whole essay on why I love this book. The plot is just THAT good!!!)

Honestly I love that you have Titan's Curse this high. I think it's criminally underrated. My ranking would be: 1. Last Olympian 2. House of Hades 3. Titan's Curse 4. Mark of Athena 5. Tyrant's Tomb 6. Burning Maze 7. Blood of Olympus 8. Lost Hero 9. Tower of Nero 10. Battle of the Labyrinth 11. Chalice of the Gods 12. Sea of Monsters 13. Son of Neptune 14. Hidden Oracle 15. YESSSSS I LOVEEEEEEEEEEE PJO!!! TYSM FOR DOING THIS!!!
I’m reading the blood of Olympus rn, and I keep remembering when I read the lightning thief. I never knew it would be one of my favorite series of all time.
The lost hero is so real, I skipped it and went straight to the son of Neptune cause I refused to read without Percy for awhile
Haven’t seen any Percy Jackson books so I’m very confused with a lot of these plot points lmao
You should do more videos about the life of some characters. That would be cool to see!
I've just read the PHO series and HOO series. I'm going ahead. But uptil now, I absolutely love The Son Of Neptune. I think that the final battle when Percy, Hazel and Frank return and get into the battle is done great and one if the best battles if not the best.
Going from the last Percy Jackson book, to the first of the Heroes of Olympus was very confusing.
Looking dapper my friend 😄👌
I think overall my ranking would be very similar. Just a few swaps from neighboring ranks. But I mostly agree with the ranking done here. Glad to have *almost finished the entire series, your videos on Percy Jackson made me finally pick up the series and as you said I didn't look back. They are really fantastic books!
What I personally love most about Son of Neptune is that it really put in perspective how powerful Percy had become throughout the books. The way you see other people talk about him is so interesting (Like Nico saying he was dangerous to his enemies or Hazel comparing him to a god). And I remember reading a line that was something like "The other cohorts laughed, like 'Oh look, another loser for the fifth cohort'" and then when they mentioned the war games I was like "Oh, he's gonna show them SO bad" and I was right, scenes like that are personally sooooooooooooo satisfying to read. Also the Nico cameo came as such a surprise but I really loved it!
Great video my ranking is this is after many re reads 1 The House of Hades 2 The Titian’s Curse 3 The Last Olympian 4 The Burning Maze 5 The Tower of Nero 6 The Lighting Thief 7 The Tyrants Tomb 8 The Son of Neptune 9 The Burning Maze 10 The Battle of the Labyrinth 11 The Chalice of the Gods 12 The Sun and the Star 13 The Blood of Olympus 14 The Lost Hero 15 The Hidden Oracle 16 The Sea of Monsters 17 The Dark Prophecy

As soon as i started the lost hero i immediately thought "Is percy talking about this jason dude? "

I don’t care what anyone says, Mark of Athena is the best book in the PJO universe, and you can’t change my mind.

The battle of the Labyrinth will always be my favourite, Calypso, Daedalus and the Labyrinth section is just amazing
Can you do more on the sun and the star please, i love your videos
Gotta love the Percy Jackson content
The Son of Neptune has to be my favorite, seeing the already established goat, secure his position of power in a different camp in one book instead of 5 is fantastic. Its jam packed with just straight up dubs, like the Frank vs Alcyoneus fight, etc. It also was a great book to demonstrate Percy's matured power, he was at his peak of power in this book. Finally, the mystery of Hazel's backstory was peak.
A great video and I mostly agree with the ranking!

It is really interesting for me personally. My brother read Percy Jackson A LONG TIME AGO and I tried it as well but stopped about 4 chapters into the first book because I simply couldn't adjust to the writing style. But then we got the Series recently and the good part about that was that the writing-style of the book no longer mattered (as well as the fact that he wrote the Screenplay with way more experience than the early books) and I honestly enjoyed the series and surprisingly the dialogues in particular a lot. That prompted me to start the series again as AudioBooks and I did enjoy some parts of the first book, though I still personally prefer the series (again, I did get used to the writing-style a bit but it really isn't my favorite). I found the series improved A LOT with the third book personally and then again quite a bit with book 4. But then something special happened. HE CHANGED HIS WRITING-STYLE for the next series. That coupled with the scale of Heroes of Olympus made every single book of Heroes of Olympus for me personally better than any other book that came before it. This series also introduced a lot of my favorite characters but also made older characters a lot more special for me than they were before (believe it or not in the book-series itself, I was not that connected to Percy to be honest but he got way more interesting for me with every Heroes of Olympus book). After that, unfortunately the writing-style changed again but back more to a Percy Jackson Style of writing only with a character I could connect with even less (a selfish god) and I know that is his character arc but honestly I couldn't get into it that well. It got a bit better with book 2 but in book 3 the other big problem of this being a bit too over-the-top came into play as well (I know Heroes of Olympus is also over-the-top a lot but I think because we slowly get introduced to that part of the story with your heroes growing into that challenge it felt a bit more coherent to me). I right now took a break from Apollo after book 3 (a bit forced because the Person I heard the AudioBooks from is still working on the last two). I did however skip to "Sun and Star" because there was already the AudioBook out for that and because Nico is one of my personal favorites (and I wanted to learn more about Will) and I was so happy that it went back to more of a Heroes Of Olympus writing-style What is so interesting is that these are basically 3 series that are all VERY different in how much I enjoy them. I can't rank them all RIGHT NOW in order but more generally: 1. Mark of Athena, House of Hades, Blood of Olympus 2. The Lost Hero, The Son of Neptune, The Sun and The Star --- as already stated there is quite a gab here for me --- 3. Battle of the Labyrinth, The Last Olympian 4. Titan's Curse 5. The Lightning Thief The other once are somewhere below that I think but I can't rank them well anymore. When it comes to favorite characters I personally have: 1. Nico, Leo, 2. Hazel, Frank, Percy, Annabeth, Will (though I need to hear more about him still) 3. Reyna, Piper, Jason (yep, also here very much Heroes of Olympus focused) So as final thoughts as I said before I think a big reason why the "Percy Jackson" saga (first 5 books) aren't as high as for others is because of the writing-style that didn't work for me and I honestly can't say if the story and characters would work better enough for me that it and Heroes of Olympus could be on equal ground with a different writing-style but that is basically what the Series is for so I guess/hope we will see (I hope they actually get 5 seasons because that is a serious long production-cycle). I however find it personally sad that we will probably not get a series for Heroes of Olympus. For one because I don't think they are going to continue after 5 seasons but also because I actually don't think this would work as well in Live-Action. I personally really want to see an animated series based on Heroes of Olympus with a more distinct art-style as I think the more over-the-top style of that story would work well with animation (maybe a blend of western and eastern animation like we see a lot right now, for example in series for with Arcane) First of all this comment is LONG (sorry) but I really wanted to explain myself here. I also know this is probably not the most popular opinion but I thought it would be interesting to some people how I (somebody only hearing the books after the series) would think about it.
Where can i get the Percy Jackson books

my favorite books to read was also titan's curse and the last Olympians even though it's been years since the original book series I still remember the stories so well. and that's saying something to his writing it's incredible

I only read the first 5 books before life ended up getting in the way. The Titan's Curse took so long for me to read because i kept losing the book. Sometimes for days at a time. It got to the point that if any of my teachers saw the book, they'd immediately have it brought to me and it became a running joke among me, my friends and teachers that the book would outright vanish. There would be times i never took it out of my bag during a part of the day, yet it vanished and would end up in one of the classes i had. I swear that book was legitimately cursed. I never had this problem with any of the other 4 books. Just that one. I read through Sea of Monsters without issues, and once I finished the Titan's Curse and got to the Battle of the Labyrinth, i didn't lose the books again. Anytime i had the Titan's Curse in my possession, i read as much as possible in order to finish it so i would stop losing it
Please do a video on the Life Of Jason Grace from the HOO and Trials of Apollo series’s
Completely agree. The Titans curse is my favorite, the House of Hades is the best book Rick has ever written, and The Last Olympian is one of the best nonfiction climax’s of all time. Every time I reread them it feels like I’m reading them for the first time.
Actually never read the Percy Jackson books before but I hope they are in my local library so I know why my sister loves it so much 😂
As someone with The last Olympian as the favourite of the original series and House of Hades as the fav of the HoO series, this makes me happy
Morgan have you read DOTD by Rick Riordan ( full name is Daughter of the deep) It’s his first not mythology based book and it’s pretty good Also you should read Aru Shah by Roshani Chowkshi, her first book even has Rick Riordan Compliment her
I would like to see a theory video, like you did for some of the hunger games theorys. I would like see your opinions on some of percy jackson theories. Or like a ship ranking Canon or non Canon, also would like too see your opinion on Canon and noncanon ships.
When I started reading hero’s of Olympus (after the original series ofc) I was living with a pretty much bipolar emotionally abusive man that my mom was dating, it was a very hard time because sometimes he was great but other times he was a cold person. Anyway when I read the hero’s of Olympus books it was like I could escape, so the those books will always have a very special place in my heart. It took me about 1 month to read everyone and it was one of the best months of my life, staying up until 10 at night with my cat sleeping next to me reading those books. On a side note besides very few instances he did a good job ranking them
Me still freaking out about Haymitch and he post again😊😊😊😊😊
