Some how when I go to select the Source folder, WinBuilder gives an Error. File install.wim could not be found.

Yes! I’ve been wondering about this. I still have a usb drive with Hiren’s Win10PE, which hasn’t been updated for some time. Now I know how to create my own PE with some of my favorite tools. Thank you making this video!

i seen a few tools floating around youtube & amazon lately. have a look at the IODD 2541 that seems a little nifty tool tbh. its around £70. thinking about investing in one for myself. could be the next video on here.. haha, keep up the work! top man top videos. peace!

Hi Brian, hope you can help me. I accidentally formatted my external HD (2%) using Etcher! i have paid for a years subscription with Easeus Data recovery software, I am at a dilemma what to do now, I have checked the drive and it has no bad clusters, it cannot see the drive in explorer I have done as you tutorial shows. (by the way excellent narrative) So I have tried to recover data, the program is reading the external drive Showing " More Files " I believe that I save the results to my HDD Do I format the external drive and copy over these results or how do I restore Lost Files/more files? please give much appreciated advise.

Hi @Britec09 is there anyway to create ISO file from installed window with all installed application... Actually am still using 1809 version and sometimes update ruined it and am having hard time to deal with it..like installing windows drivers and all application.

at the point "select win10 source folder" i got an error: install.wim is missing, then at the point "open custom folder" i dont have that .txt file, nor those directories...win10 2004-19041.423.iso and win10xpe v.2 from your weblink, and i have to add an RAID driver for my M.2 RAID...

There is no need to copy the Windows 10 files from the ISO to a seperate folder. You can just mount the ISO to a new drive and point the WinXPE program to that. Saves time and space

right, when your win7, 8, 10 doesn't boot anymore and you can't fix it with the original installCD/repair there is nothing that can bring back your OS.

Hi again. I built my WinPE (finally) and on login I get the following error message: "The procedure entry point NtLoadKey3 could not be located in the dynamic link library X:\Windows\System32\wow64.dll." Do you know a fix to this? Thanks!

👍 Read that Win10XPE doesn't work correctly with Window's latest or any version 20H2. Something concerning programmer's error at Microsoft with mismatched files. I dunno for sure, but I'm desperate to recover lost directories and files from a non-bootable machine power interruption during Windows System Restore. Ugh!

Nice that the small windows 10 is using open-shell which I use all the time as a start menu replacement. Why don't they give that option in windows 10 proper LOL

Do a system file check. Open cmd as administrator. At the cmd prompt type sfc /scannow and leave it to scan yr windows file integrity. Hope that helps.

If anyone gets the install.wim not found, you must have version 19.03 ISO then copy the install.wim file to the root of the folder where you put your windows files and it worked.

If people are using this software, I'm pretty sure you don't have to explain three times what unchecking and checking a box does

Is their a one usb fix for a laptop I can't open. I have no means other than my phone to get the software repair for windows 10. ???

Just last week I made a recovery drive using the Dell recovery tool, it said a USB drive with at least 8GB free. Going with that info I would suggest a 32GB or larger USB, especially if you want to add your own programs to the project.

AOMEI caused the error. Removed portable app. .ISO file created successfully.

It said it support windows 1809 or earlier. Does it mean it won't work if we use later version windows?

They can't guarantee that it will work - they didn't tested it on newer versions. Wait for a new version of this tool.

When I run Win10XPE and try to add the win10 files, from the ISO, I always get this error: install.wim image was not found in the Windows 10 source folder. Select the root of the Windows 10 source folder.

I think they used the ISO downloaded from their website, it is not the original from Microsoft, I had downloaded from Microsoft and it is showing an error "Install.wim image was not found" but if I use the one from their website my Sophos antivirus prevents an exploit attack to my computer, which means the file used in the video is not the original downloaded from Microsoft.

You can put lipstick and ear rings on a pig, but that won't change much. Pig remains a pig. That's how I feel about Win 10. When product sucks no amount of tools will make things better.

Same for me. It would seem you have to click the link in the Winbuilder app and download the ISO from that website.

@@bunkermagnus Same here and I know I just got the latest ISO from microsoft for Win10 less than a week ago. Downloading it again from his website now, but if it works it makes me wonder if his copy is legit

I've given this the better part of a day now and this simply doesn't boot, UEFI, NON UEFI, Win 10 2004 or 1903, different USB sticks, different image writers...same error every boot: "An unexpected I/O error has occured: 0x00000e9

Update : it's not working on new windows10 version. it will ask you about the install.wim what I did is to download the windows from Techbench (the link is in the Win10xpe) I downloaded the same version Britec09 is using on this video. (Win10_2004). and it all works fine.

I reboot my laptop and tested it. and there's a new error. it booted just fine but I only got the most basic things loaded. and I'm getting an error Procedure entry point Ntloadkey3 couldn't be found... dynamic link x://......System32/wow64.dll. (sorry couldn't remember the whole error but those are the important part I remember). I'm looking into doing the whole set up thing again.

After the latest updates on win 10 my pc got really slow but usually after one restart it will work great idk what's really going on with it

Try to disable Search Indexer. That also may be an autodefrager bug. You may disable it as well. Google how to do that :-)

Rubbish.......I cannot get the files firstly to Mount...as I have no option for that. The when trying to extract into xpe it tells me that the file is not present. Ive given up after 3 hours.

Doesn't work. Unnecessary jumping around. No image can be found.

You lost me at "turn off your virus checker". Some Indian offshore support guy asked me the same thing last week...

They should explain why. It's smart to be careful and suspicious when a stranger tells you "just disable your only protection from whatever I might do". In this case it's because of a few of the tools that you'll be moving from one place to another. Stuff like the password hacking tools set off your anti-virus and cause it to quarantine some of the apps and files you need to move in order to use them. You just temporarily disable your security during the download of things like this or my favorite "Medicat" and during transfer or install. If you're really worried then try it on an older computer you don't care much about if you have one. Then you can try it out with less stress and even scan things afterwards if you want.

so basically we can create a customized windows 10?
