In just 8 minutes, my perception of reality was shattered. Mind-blown.
This is an excellent video. For me of the best I've ever seen on youtube... Thanks!
I finally found a reliable way to alternate between the two rotation directions of the dancer in the Kinetic Depth Effect. Focus only on the trajectory of the foot she is standing on. Imagine her knee is swaying left and right. When the knee is about to reach it's left-most position, look at the image as a whole. You should see her rotating clockwise (from above). A less reliable method is closing your eyes and imagining the dancer spinning in either direction and opening your eyes when her legs overlap. This is obviously hard to do because your are blocking the only sensory input provided with this illusion by closing your eyes. You rely on your sense of time.

You're talking about the green dot, huh? It is crazy how it can be so incredibly vivid lol
idk why but as a beginner amateur artist idk its because of the tutorials or just perspective studies I didn't get "fooled" by the poggendorf illusion and the ponzo illusion(and a few others). Im fairly sure artists actually doing a "poggendorf illusion" during lineart is something that some guides suggest avoiding so yeah. Or its just an outlier thats not based on anything

This is actually the closest thing to explaining paint this channel has done
Love to have them summed up, good times ❤

this was amazing
0:17 Woohoo that was awesome
This video was pretty fun :)
Earliest I’ve been to one of these, great video!
slowly becoming one of my fav channels, although some are irrelevant its quite fun to learn
Its interesting how some of these have different effects on some people. knowing more about them, or other thimgs ,may have effects. ones that stood out for me was the 'Mach bands' I found the colors more different BEFORE they touched. however, im well aware and have experienced the effect in some eye tests. in the color constancy, the only color outside of red/black/white was the blue water (and the mountain's lower part also looked blue)
5:44 Because it's afterimage + phi phenomenom.
For the flashed face distortion effect. I found that the longer you stare at the cross. The more distorted the faces become and it can sometimes give creepy vibes if stared long enough.
5:10 This trick caused me way too much misery when I had to recreate Snake in programming class omfg. I can't believe it took me so long to realize you just have to move the last part first.
Up coming big channel. I just really hope you start branching out your content WHILE making this stuff, very intriguing.
The lilac chaser works so well for me and I am obsessed with it
Optical illusions have always been so fascinating to me
I love your videos! You should do astrology, like explain all the zodiacs.
thanks for finally providing only illusions that actually work, you're the first person that only shows working illusions.
“Look at this afterimage” Me: ok staring KZread: you know what would make this illusion 10000x better? Yes exactly. An advert
Can you make the alignment chart explained? (Lawful good, Neutral good, Chaotic Evil, etc)
flashed face distortion effect is actually the basis for the episode "real sleep" from the series local58, and if you follow the instructions on screen during that segment it will actually make people unrecognizable in your dreams for a bit.
Interestingly, on the Silencing effect, I can still see the balls changing color. It's certainly less noticeable, but they appear to be flashing back and forth a bit more quickly than they were when still. I love love _love_ the rotating snake illusion. It's used in a lot of celtic art, too.

the last one in flashed face distortion effect was terrifying on the left
Flashed face distortion effect mainly happens as the images on two eyes being different and while focusing on the cross , due the blind spot in eyes , our brain can't reform the images from two eyes and thus they look deformed. I don't remember where I read it but it was in a biology book when I studied in school.
2:14 This is much more prominent if you're near sighted like myself. Just stand up, walk a few feet back, and flip your glasses on and off to watch the face change! Alternatively, if you have good enough peripheral vision, put a finger in front of your face to focus on it to get the same effect.
Lilac disc is the coolest omg
4:15 Its like I can see the outline of the non-existante bright triangle before it was shown, that's insane!
A video about optical illusions soon after a video about different kinds of torture. I see what you're doing. You ain't slick. lmao
@ultimaxkom8728
2 ай бұрын
That's actually slick.
Some effects happen because we have two eyes. One eye is enough for somewhat 2D visual information, but you need two eyes to see two different angles that are combined to form one composite 3D image. So the expectation for the "Flashed Face Distortion Effect" would be that it has something to do with going "cross-eyed" or similar to a minor degree, or that's how I would explain it. The "Magic Eye" illusions are a great example of this type of stuff (and I can never get them to work because I process visual information extremely flat)
this is an awesome video suggestion: you give a few more seconds to each and attempt to explain the effect in more detail. some illusions pique interest and a need for research that this video should provide if it truly wants to educate
appreciate the videos
6:22 I do not see it
I got myself hypnotised by the illusions shown in this video
This is my new favorite KZreadr 1+ sub
No clue if "Quick2Get" here on youtube is trying to copy your style, given the fact they are using the same thumbnail, formal and even channel description as you, or it's just a coincidence...I did check, your first available video was 3 months ago, while theirs is 2 months ago. Pretty sure these channels are just mass produced by a company, thankfully they're not too terrible.
The video: This image will make things around you look like their breathing Me with AIWS: Look what they need to mimic a fraction of my power
I think the vertical-horizontal illusion happens between we instinctually assume the vertical line is overlapping the horizontal one instead of being ontop Making us believe the vertical one is the width of the horizontal one taller
6:26 no? it doesnt even look any different..
When I was a kid growing up in Florida, I used to experience the after image one a lot upon stepping inside. I would be practically blinded because most of my vision would turn purple/blue.

I love this thanks
it took me so long to figure out the sander illusion, i even held up a ruler to my screen to make sure there wasnt any trickery. the reason it works is because the diagonal in the smaller parallelogram connects the corners that are farther away from each other, while the bigger one connects the corners that are closer together. i dont see anything to do with an "illusion of depth"
You had my interest, but now you have my attention...
There's also "The Girlfriend Illusion" which seems to happen often in my dreams 😢
The lilac disc was actually crazy
Those distorted faces blew my mind.
The checker shadow illusion is the strongest one for me. I get they’re the same color but unlike the others I can’t FORCE myself to see it even after understanding it
0:39 This one was used in Local 58's "Real Sleep".
The Sander Illusion made me mesure my screen and I still cannot believe it 🤣

wow ur so quirky
IDK what it was but with the lilac chase, i saw an effect of the green disc remove the lilac ones when it went over and after all had disappeared it remade them when it left an empty spot and it repeated. Sorry if thats not the most eloquent explanation.
it's interesting seeing which of these illusions work on me and which don't
HUH, this will actually help my drawing skills
The Lilac Chaser is by far the most impressive.
I would be interested to see what you'd do for stellar object/phenomenons.
The spinning dancer immediately triggered my fight or flight response
It seems like the flashed face distortion effect might be related to hybrid image effect.
With the Cafe Wall one, move your device around (I’m using a phone) and the tiles seem to slide around
Man I get to see trippy things on my birthday
the lilac thing is the most crazy one
1:50 HOLY CRAP THAT SCARED ME SO MUCH
Motion aftereffect can be observed in the real world when you ride a motorcycle for extended periods of time. When you get off, everything will feel like its warping past you for a few minutes.
Aight, that was cool. Now my eyes just need to rest for the next century or two
The EASIEST way to find the illusion with the Kinetic Depth effect is to use your arrow key to fast forward/rewind the video as the woman is spinning. At some point, due to all of the rapid chances of you forwarding and going back, you will see her start to spin in the opposite direction.
