The story of how he was cast is actually a very interesting one. He was by far the oldest person auditioning and the producers liked him but told his agent that he was too old. This was passed on to him who replied "How can the most interesting person in the world be young?" this was relayed to the producers who bought the argument and cast him. By the way if you read his biography Johnathan Goldsmith may in reality may really be the most interesting man in the world, he has lead an incredible life!

This is the most cleverly written ad series. He is supposed to be the most interesting man in the world but he doesn’t push the product. He hints at it subtly by saying ‘I DON’T always drink beer, but when I do I PREFER Dos Equis’. 😊

Let's not lose sight of the announcer who is a huge (unsung) contributor to the larger-than-life impact of these commercials.

Watching this purely for nostalgia. Funny how those once “annoying” TV ads interrupting your show can pop into your mind from time to time. This one was quite good

These ads have legitimately good advice in them😂

When he’s on a commercial airliner the pilot asks is he ready for take off

When he does push-ups, he's not lifting himself up, he's pushing the Earth down. He once challenged the sun to a staring contest. The sun blinked first. He doesn't need to swim; oceans part to give him passage. If he spills a drink, the floor feels honored and refuses to get wet. Grizzly bears cuddle with their cubs and tell them tales of the time they met him in the woods. Tornadoes watch out for him. And remember... he doesn’t always tell tales, but when he does, legends are born. He is... the most interesting man in the world!

He bowls overhand. Still gets me.

If there's something you don't do very well, don't do that thing. Exquisite ad campaign. Surely there's a movie to be made out of this gem?

I dont even actually drink but this campaign made me try some. One of the most successful campaigns for sure!
