    Way to go, SILAS ALLRED!!! I've been waiting for Silas to really break out in the NCAAs. It was just a matter of time. That doesn't really mean much. DeSanto defeated Spencer Lee, Nick Suriano, RBY, and Seth Gross--yes, I know he beat Lee in high school. The point is that these guys wrestle each other so much that they're bound to trade wins and losses. The few exceptions are the elite of the elite, which Lee is a part of; RBY is not that. He could finish with three titles, but he was never a dominant wrestler.

    Christmas and New Year's Day for wrestlers are the Conference tournaments (especially Big 10s) and NCAAs. I love the matches this time of year when the wrestlers are at their sharpest. We see kids transcending themselves and moving to the next level with big upsets and we see others collapsing into a heap of broccoli because the pressure finally gets to them. Fantastic tournament. One area where I feel that the hosts made an error: they needed another mat all the way around - especially for the finals. Cronin needs to just bully Lee, if he can. Upper body lock him like Marinelli used to do. No way he'll beat Lee in a straight up match, he's got to make it quick and brutal. I think Lee would be shocked if somebody approached him like that. Lee would probably still win, but at least Cronin would have a chance.

    Karcth from Ohio State look like he had a bad wheel I knew Dean was going to do do well in the postseason because he peaked and stepped it up at the end of the year of which I noticed and called out in the comment section several weeks ago biggest mistake was the badger coaching staff allowing Gomez to wrestle and that’s not hindsight I put it in writing two days before he wrestle don’t let him go out there. Save him for when it matters the NCAA big show but kris Bonow’s been making some bonehead calls all year one win in the badger conference doesn’t cut it with five all Americans

  • @hovertrout1

    @hovertrout1

    Agreed that’s why I see transfers as being his downfall if they depart and coupled with 2 poor seasons in a row…Bono is a motivator that is all and solid recruiter but those are asst coach traits. They need technique and strategy improvers and they seem beyond his capabilities. He preaches effort etc, that only goes do far and is outdone by technique and tact from superior coaches.
