Every MAN should carry this flashlight (Streamlight ProTac 1L-1AA review)

A tactical flashlight is one of the BEST EDC tools you can carry, I use it almost every day, and if SHTF using this to blind someone is a superpower.
It also makes every other tool you use way more effective. Whether it is a fist, a knife, or a gun.
This Streamlight ProTac 1L-1AA is the one I still recommend the most, and for less than 40 bucks you should pick up a few.
Link= amzn.to/31yDD8X
Surefire Stiletto Pro If you want a brighter light that is also rechargeable, this this is the best edc pocket light. 1000 lumens, rechargeable, dual buttons, and sits even better in the pocket.
Link= amzn.to/3FD5T0j
Talking to Surefire though, these may be TOO powerful. I have already had to send mine back 2x to get replaced/fixed after the LED burned out. So the Streamlight is still the one I recommend for most.

    Yes indeed, I agree. I had the 1l-1AA and it was ok but not for my likening in EDC. The 2lX was too cool to pass up so i got 2. Also if you like the 2lX and just by chance in need of a head lamp, try the Pro Tac Headlamp USB. That thing throws out 1k lumens...I am not sure of the model number but if you get on their website im sure you will find the one im talking about.

    I don't understand why people are such fans of Streamlight and Surefire. You really pay for the name and they aren't bright at all. Most importantly they have the worst battery capacity in the industry. It's like buying a Lamborghini and getting a Kia honestly. CR123 and RCR123 really need to die so these companies will stop using them. I personally prefer Fenix, Nitecore, Thrunite, Acebeam and Klarus(they're getting better than they used to be). They have every feature that SF and SL has and aren't plagued by horrible battery life and poor brightness and are at a much better price point. Surefire and Streamlight are just stuck in the past and need to get with the times especially for the premium price tag. But you know what they say about opinions. That is just mine.

    Stacy Keen I'm familiar with most of the ones you listed. Some don't have the buttons on the bottom, others don't have a default high only mode, and this is the only light that can also run off a AA and still blind someone. Once you factor in these reasons THIS light is currently the best right now. Best = tactical/ offensive and defensive low light tactics. Know lots people who carry other lights, and for others reasons they are better for their specific situations. Also these are only 35-40 bucks!

    Stephen Grosch I'm sorry but your claim that it's the only one single AA tactical light that can spew that much light with a rear switch is empirically untrue. while I will agree that it is at a good price point, some of these are at a better one. Yes, Surefire used to be the best and because of that they ride that name but they have still put out lackluster products in the past 5 years. these are just a handful. I could keep going if I wanted to. I know high lumen is not the defining feature of a tactical light but these are just a response to your original claim that there's no comparable products with output and rear clicky switch. Like I said, they ride their name, so obviously people are prone to brand recognition so it's no surprise that "many people stand by them", but it's a logical fallacy to say that popularity is any indication of quality or reliability. they do make some ok lights but there's no amount of vindicating evidence available to justify their prices compared to others with better options and features, higher reliably and superior build quality. I've taught low-light for years, know guys who design them, got a tour at SF when I swung by...I know a bit about this stuff. Checked every one of those lights, some are awesome, surprised the PK knight wasn't on (I almost bought one a bit ago, PK was also a very nice at SF during tour) But none of them covered all the aspects of what I said. Keen Beams surefire progress became stagnant starting in the early 2000's. They got spoiled with all the us govt contracts they acquired. And that when smaller companies saw the need or the regular consumers and developed less expensive better brightness and battery life LED flashlights. For my enforcement section our hands down choice for headlight and flashlights are tried and true fenix brand lights. Since they are issued and batteries are free to us because the aa batteries are inexpensive and if we need to replace broken or lost lights it's not a big deal breaker since they are inexpensive. Our fenix headlights run on 2 aaa batts for 300 lumens and our handhelds are rechargeable usb at 1000 lumens for 2.5 hrs or 80 lumens for ever it seems before requiring a recharge. Thank you fenix!
