Every Jackie Chan Role (Before He Was Famous) (1962-1977)
This is EVERY cameo and small role Jackie Chan did before he became famous with the two 1978 films (Drunken Master and Snake In The Eagles Shadow).
Using mostly IMDB (and other sources) I tracked down every single movie he did starting with 1962 all the way up to 1977 and searched through all of the movies to find Jackie, there were a couple films that I'm guessing he doesn't actually appear in but is credited as playing a role like (Supermen Of The Orient (which he was a choreographer), Bruce And Shaolin Kung Fu 2, and A Touch Of Zen). He may very well be in those movies but I don't think he's close enough to the camera to be recognized.
I only intended to make this JUST Chan apearences but couldn't resist the few times you also see his other peeking opera school mates, if it was quick I pointed them out a few times (Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao, and Yuen Wah).
With that said it was hard to not give props to Mars as well (appeared with Chan many times before later joining his Stunt team) so I also pointed him out a few times.
The clips I chose to show for each movie were mostly edited and chopped down for the purposes of just getting a feel of Jackie Chans presence in the scene and also to try my best to keep this video just under an hour, for some acting roles if the scene and cameo appearance was short enough then I more or less left it untouched (Enter The Dragon, None But The Brave, ect.) but if he had a big role (Cub Tiger, or The Heroine) then I chopped it down to just show a few of the best highlights because if I showed everything then this video would be over 2 hours!
After reading his autobiography "I Am Jackie Chan" the chapters where he talks about working on all the films before he got famous always made me curious as to what he looked like or did on camera, and after going through all that trouble of finding him I decided to make a video out of it.
So now this can be used as a visual representation of his early years!
Hope you enjoy the video!

This video made me realise that even if Jackie hadnt become insanely popular in '78, he still wouldve had a pretty good career as an actor/stunt director. You can see his reputation begin to rise from '74- '76, and even though his early starring vehicles were faliures he was still getting large supporting roles in films like Hand of Death and Killer Meteors. Im sure being Sammo's buddy helped. He probably wouldve had a similar career to his classmate Yuen Biao, if hadnt blown up with Snake in the Eagle's Shadow. The Three Brothers films may still have even happened, just with Sammo as the main star instead of Jackie.

no doubt jackie would have a long career in china or hong kong or taiwan as a supporting actor/stunt choreographer/director. funny thing about yuen biao was he wasn't really interested in being a star he was more than ok with being stunt coordinator/director.

Idk... He was just extras in all of this movies... He got own chance cos of Bruce death when industry started try find another familiar one "Bruce". Yes, he could be famous coordinator like Yuen Woo-ping but seriously, who knows except nerds about this man when movie go to cinemas? And very own style of Jackie build at western silence cinema icons could be not discover and wasted in this way... His friend and agent told him that if Jackie did not became stuntman and action actor he could be very good thief :P

hatsoff your great effort to pick up every Jackie's scenes!
What an incredible video, very professional. Few Jackie Chan fans are dedicated to looking for old films from the 70s in which he plays small roles. It's rare to find dedicated people like this. I leave my congratulations. How could I contact you to recommend an upcoming video of short appearances from films from the 80s, 90s, 2000s?
He was famous pretty early in Asia.
Thank you so very much for uploading this video
THANK YOU, this is an amazing compilation. Thank you so much for your effort (it must've taken you so long) and for the video, very precious. I didn't even know he had that much roles, and the quality of all your clips is actually very good. And you even put the list with his movies !!! Thank you so much again !!

I wonder why 😅
The fact Jackie stood in as a henchman to becoming a action hero is commendable- hard to believe he started at 8 years old and is 70 now
Thanks for this great Jackie special
JC's birth year is 1954. That means he started early in the movies, when he was 8 years old! Now he's already 70 years old!
Great compilation. Was it ever solved what movie he is talking about in both his autobiographies where he did a somersault from a balcony as a stand in for the lead?
This is the best video on all KZread!!
And now he become most famous actor all the time

Closest you’ll get is Tucker and Chan, since Tucker knew both of them personally
It’s actually amazing that you managed to collect all of these because most of these are pretty hard to find in this day and age! Also, did you find these on the Internet or did you have to buy physical DVDs and blu-rays?
