@@user-qc2kt5kd3i Given the reason San Marino are so poor is because they have such a tiny pool of players to choose from, ask yourself this - if the town you live in has a population similar to that of San Marino's (around 33,000), are you one of the best eleven (or even twenty two) players there? If so then you might have a chance, but if not then you wouldn't. Bear in mind also that three of the current squad play in the top three leagues in Italy, so if you're not good enough to play in the top three leagues in Italy, you're already worse than those particular players.

Liechtenstein has a similar population, yet they have a not so terrible national team and even a professional league. But when you look at it, playing for San Marino is like a reunion with your high school buddies who you used to play football with. They dint havent touch te ball during that game, and altrought I was a defender I scored a goal of head by a corner kick. They didn't score so many goals but most of them are very nice goals especially the free kicks of Andy Selva. It's little country and they don't have so many professional soccer players, but they have at least courage to play against big names. The greatest player of them is Some guy called Bonini, who played for Juventus many years and won the Italian League. EDIT: You can add one more, they finally managed to score a goal. Massimo Bonini (Sanmarinese player) has won it with Juventus in 1985.

San marino should face southeast Asian teams, Caribbean teams and Oceania teams. That way they could actually score goals, win more often and climb the fifa rankings, because if you think about it San Marino is awful because they have to face Uefa teams which are arguably the best in the World.

I have the gol number 13 in an old VHS (san marino-belgium 1-2 of 2005).. A fantastic goal of Andy Selva (al volo di sinistro), assist by Carlo Valentini at 40' for a 1-1 at the moment

They just play for fun and they enjoy it. This is really adorable and beautiful :)

It's a paradise to play for San Marino - you don't have to be anyone great at football, just healthy young man with a will power and you're travelling ATW meeting many famous stars, earning money doing what you love without much consequences since nobody even hope that you're gonna win and once you somehow score - you're a legend for a country and always remain as a part of their history.

Also imagine how fit these players are getting - they're non-stop concentrated defending for the whole game and always have to face players who are much faster and stronger than them. It must add up over time.

Absolutely. That's what I was thinking. I would have loved to born there so I could play with no pressure taking each day at a time. Being a soccer player for San Marino has to be the closest thing to play with your buddies as a kid or teenager. I wouldn't mind if everybody gets to know I play for the worst team ever.

Ahh I remember the good old days of the 2010 World Cup game on PS3 when everyone won the World Cup with San Marino

I like them , they are a humble team who never give up . I hope they won a match one day

This reminds me so much of the team I was playing for as a child / teenager. Some seasons we had to play against teams older than us, and also a lot better than us. We would lose by 7,8,9 goals in many of the games, but if we did manage to score, the reaction was similar to this.

Belgium are real bros for letting San Marino score so many times on them. It's so weird hearing such casual commentary on the most historic goals to happen for that entire season.
