Since 1969, The Philippines are fighting against the Communist Party of the Philippines - New People's Army (CPP NPA), which is the longest ongoing communist insurgency in the world. Its been going on for more than half a century. In it's southern provinces, the Philippines have been fighting against Muslim separatists but peace talks with the rebels have made great progress but occasional skirmishes have happened. Another conflict the Philippines is involved is against ISIS linked terrorist groups, the fighting escalated when these groups occupied the city of Marawi leading to a bitter urban guerilla warfare that lasted for 5 months in 2017 and military operations against these groups are still being conducted along with operations against the communist rebels.

The problem with NPA isn't as bad as FARC in Colombia. The Abu Sayyaf, MILF problems are now over. The only real conflict was the Marawi siege which was instigated by ISIS and although it took time, the Maute group were defeated. Right now, the Philippines is more peaceful internally then ever compared to past decades. The looming conflict is with China as China continues to harass Filipino fishermen and coast guard and military personnel.

@@jonirojonironin5353 Maybe the NPA is just a shadow of its former self but during the cold war they are a formidable fighting force and it's legal fronts are still heavily rooted in the society even today. Islamist terrorists are currently down in strength but we've seen them regain their forces again and again.. For decades has it been that the armed forces are beating back these insurgents but they still exist.

Like how technically the war on terror isn’t a war in the UK because the monarch didn’t declare it officially. Only the British monarch can declare war for the Commonwealth. All these post Soviet states having ethnic problems is by design, Stalin in an effort, more easily pacify these regions, and ensure that they would be too busy arguing amongst each other to worry about the big Russian bear in the room. Stalin not only drew up borders Along national lines, but also community lines. worse yet, Stalin had huge communities of people moved by force (Population transfers). Ethnicities that essentially hated each other. Basically continuing Russian imperialist tactics Like the Czars before him. For all the talk of American imperialism, Russia colonized it’s periphery another words all the areas the Russian Empire had colonized

What is happening in Sudan is not a civil war . most RSF gang members are from the Sahel region, where there's a high fertility rate, while water is becoming less accessible

I think you should change the title to "every modern conflict summarized". For a moment I thought you were going to talk about every global conflict, i.e. the seven years' war, Napoleonic Wars, World War I and World War II.

Hello @kingsandGenerals nice work you are doing. At 38:33 the photo used to represent the Ogoni people is wrong. The individual shown represents a totally different group of people but most importantly, the photo represents a political rally rather than portay what the aspirations of the Ogoni people.

You we’re almost spot on with Ethiopia until you said they came to a peace agreement because neither side was winning. It was actually when the government forces started using Turkish drones and the TPLF had over extended itself. TPLF forces were low on ammo, surrounded and taking huge loses. That’s why they surrendered and called it a peace agreement. The agreement was basically Tigray disarms or get crushed. Don’t get me wrong. I am no fan of the Ethiopian government and their atrocities. Tigray had no choice but to agree to the government’s terms. The Oromo Liberation Army really didn’t play a role in that conflict besides just voicing support for TPLF. I’m sure they did little things but they played no significant role. Great video!

It's important to mention the EU mission in Armenia currently monitoring the borders, which Azerbaijan and Russia are decrying about. Both AZ/RU foreign ministries put out a near identical statement calling the EU mission in Armenia a "de-facto NATO mission".

This conflict has had a relative state of calm since the early 2000s with low casualties. In the 80s and 90s there was high casualties and it's the longest civil war in US history that has had a temporary truce that lasted for almost two weeks due to civil unrest in the city where both groups was founded. These are the two predominantly African American street gangs, the Bloods and the Crips, their conflict still continues today with no end insight.
