@@dashirunrunrun6479 Well George Harrison wrote a lot of gospel songs that became hits in the early 70s like "My Sweet Lord" or "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)", you should check his first two albums for more songs like that. Then McCartney and Lennon released funk songs like "Arrow Through Me", "Woman Dont You Cry For Me", and "Coming Up". The most prominent disco song by McCartney was "Silly Love Songs", but there were other songs like "Goodnight Tonight", "Whatever Gets You Thru the Night", "Listen to What the Man Said", and basically most of the unsuccessful album Ringo the 4th. Paul McCartney's song "C Moon" is the first reggae song of one of them that comes to mind. For Jazz music listent to all of Ringo's Sentimental Journey album, but there are other great songs like "My Babys Request", "My Valentine", and there's some jazz fusion or jazz feel to songs like "I Dont Wanna Be a Soldier Mama", "Learning How to Love You", and "The Hottest Gong in Town". Regarding new wave, listen to McCartney II since that contains a lot of variations and experimentation with the genre

@@HippieVeganJewslim 100%, though there was an element of subversiveness. Considering the era and all. (Some such about it being a protest song of sorts in its earliest takes or something. Courtesy of John lol.)John and Paul envisioned it as a song for the kids. And gave it to Ringo to sing to get this even further across. This makes sense when you consider the context. Whereas LSD made Americans more into spirituality, exploration of the inner self and voyages of the mind. The British on the other hand reflected upon childhood and simpler more fun filled times. And a listen to major psychedelic hits from the time (1966-1967) shows this readily. Such as "Paper Sun" by Traffic or "Ruby Tuesday" by The Rolling Stones or "See Emily Play" by Pink Floyd. With their use of storybook-like imagery and children's music stylings. A great book that covers this and The Beatles musical journey in general. Is the amazing Revolution in the Head by Ian McDonald.

Why some people still think their music was "basic" and their music was boring and overrated...I don't get it, they did many kinds of styles and genres...they evolved every day and pioneered a lot of things. they have influenced even the favorite bands of those who hate them (for no reason, because one thing is not liking their music and quite another to hate them) But well, I will always think that the Beatles were and are the most important band for all the legacy they left, I love so many bands and they all have their importance, but the Beatles are another level.

Paul: Don't you mean just rock? John: Do you know any other song that classifies as classic rock? George: I guess... Elvis and Chuck Berry could be in that category John: But this song and those songs are entirely different... George: I think you're right, my song can't be classic rock if by saying classic you're talking about an standard that appears over time in a genre that has over certain time of existence like what we call classical music today... Ringo: Guys just relax about the things we said today. just let it be, because, you know... tomorrow never knows.

You missed a lot. 1. Circus Music - Being A Benefit of Mr Kite 2. Proto Punk - Everyone Got To Hide Except Me and My Monkey 3. Jazz - Honey Pie 4. Bossa Nova - Till There Was You 5. Vaudeville - When Im Sixty Four 6. Prog Pop - You Never Gonna Give Me Your Money ( 25 chords over multiple time signature) 7. Jangle Pop - Hard Days Night 8. Baroque - She Leaving Home Lucy In The Sky is more psychedelic pop. Psychedelic rock would be Strawberry Field, Because or She Said She Said. Prog rock better choice are Happiness Is A Warm Gun. I Want You is proto doom metal Eleanor Rigby is orchestra music. A Day In The Life is more suitable choice for art rock

Bravo! Great post! From my point of view Till there was you is not Bossa Nova..The harmonies and beats are more in the Bolero form. Also She's leaving home is not really near to Baroque..I can find more baroque pop in In my life (that harpsichord solo in Bach's style) or even Piggies also with a very characteristic cembalo part and that ending Sus4 chord reminding liturgical music...The world of The Beatles is huge and everything can enter..

@@donald60s14 I don't think pop even exists as a proper genre, really. Also rock covers a huge territory and could be considered an umbrella term more than anything.
