Finial approach sounds like what it is really like to be an air traffic controller…interesting subject and great video.

I think this company had a neat perspective on their games. I think with experienced game devs of the time, these could have been polished solid releases. My father had lost luggage and loved playing it a lot. My sister and I would play it together. It's one of the few games we ever did that with.

Space Cavern is a hidden gem. I found a copy when I was in fourth or fifth grade.

I'm surprised that my family didn't have more of the Apollo library when I was growing up. I will definitely pick Space Cavern up if I ever run into it in the wild. I do really like the graphics and the enemies coming in from the side. I like it; it just doesn't hold my attention like Demon Attack or Phoenix. Thanks for watching! I'm thinking about finally tackling the Activision games in the next Atari ranking video, so look forward to that!

When I think I've already seen all the worst or weirdest Atari games, I'm shown that there's still more. Interesting video.

Guardian - There's no other practical way the paddles could be handled. The paddles return an absolute value based on what position they're turned to. The game will always move your player character to that position. Imagine if it didn't: You could end up with the paddle turned all the way to one side while your character is still in the center of the screen. So the game always has to place your character at whatever position matches the paddle. Now you can argue that they should have allowed you to shoot while moving, but with a laser beam, it would look strange if the beam stayed in one position while your character was moving somewhere else. Maybe not the best control scheme, but it makes sense why it behaves that way. Infiltrate - I kind of like this one. Racquetball - I found this one unplayable due to all the "shadows" bouncing around. They should have with just one shadow and colored it gray. Space Chase - Like you, I really liked the graphics, but found it rather boring.

Have you considered that most of your issues could be due to faulty emulation? Anyways subbed and liked. Thanks for not asking.

@@SoulforSale I know that there are male ladybugs, but the game's artwork makes it clear the protagonist is female.

I never ran across these games back then, but these titles, too me, don't compare with Imagic or Activision titles, which were my favorites.

You don't get finer games for the 2600 than those published by Imagic and Activision, with Imagic being my favorite third party publisher for the console. Thanks for watching!

There are a lot of things that I liked about Space Cavern and I definitely want to own it. It just didn’t hold my attention very long. I like it. Just not my favorite. :)

@@jeremiahthomas8140 I did. I landed dozens and dozens and dozens of them... I try to play these games that I rank for at least 2 weeks on and off before I rank them; this time, however, I kept getting set back and ended up playing this batch of games for more than a month. It didn't take me long to figure out what I was supposed to do, I just did not enjoy it. Playing with the variations offers more challenge and gives you more to have to worry about, but it still didn't make it any more fun for me. I'm still waiting for someone to tell me that they love this game. I'm sure they exist! :P
