FUN FACT: The music that's playing in the first section of this video is from Kirby Air Ride.

You should have mentioned that Miramax is now distributed by Paramount, which owns a minority stake in the studio.

You also forgot to mention that Avalanche Software worked on the Tak games for Nickelodeon and are now currently owned by Warner Bros.

I hope you make videos again, not only are they extremely thoughtful but they're also very entertaining. btw, your vids are appearing on my YT suggestions.

You didn’t even mentioned DiC Entertainment and Power Rangers, both included in the Capital Cities/ABC and Fox Family Worldwide respectively.

A ton of the bottom tiers being games studios is saddening. Disney interactive could've been amazing, and Disney 100% had the talent, IP, and money to go up against heavy hitters like WB games, but their lack of interest killed it. A shame, I hope that one day Disney reconsiders the game market and gives publishing a second chance

As cool as that would be, a December 2021 interview with Bob Iger threw cold water on game publishing. He basically said the company couldn't make it work, accepted defeat, and now licenses to established publishers. It's worked so far: see the Sony Spiderman, Square Enix Guardians game, and Star Wars EA games. However they have yet to do anything with traditional Disney IP outside of mobile games

@@SuperMakki The Lucasarts revival and the Marvel games craze have been early signs of Disney's renewed interest in games, maybe the new Disney CEO could be the one to go all in on gaming again?

It's a shame Port Disney failed but at least they got Tokyo DisneySea. But again Disney doesn't own DisneySea so yea I agree on its place.

You're right! I had it in my first draft but I completely missed it when I started working. If it was in, I would have put it right near the bottom with the other game developers that went nowhere

@Jonathan Pal not exactly, a handful of episodes contain a disclaimer warning about potential stereotypes that would be considered offensive, the show is mostly uncut, though 2 total episodes are not on the service and some sketches were edited, but they were due to music copyrights, which was a big thing with the muppet show, the music copyrights also made disney not carry one of the two missing episodes, the brooke shields one, the other missing episode is with chris langham, who disney wants to distance from after it was revealed he possessed something terrible. I am just happy the muppet show is on disney+, which I have noticed lately they have been giving more love to the muppets with merchandise as well as a new epcot restaurant.

WED didn’t own the monorail and the Disneyland railroad. All train based attractions at Disneyland was owned by Retlaw - a company that was 100% owned by Walt Disney himself. WED and Retlaw were two seperate companies.

This topic can get pretty murky but my research told me Retlaw and WED were indeed the same company: after Disney bought the engineering and design groups in 1965, WED became Retlaw, and Retlaw did own the trains until 1982. I mention the “Transportation Division” in the video for simplicity’s sake.

I feel like Ranking hulu so much higher than the software used for disney+ makes no sense considering hulu is just a U.S service whereas Disney+ has the Star brand for more adult-oriented content internationally.

As far as I know, Netflix still has the rights to the show. Disney has been rather incompetent with the Muppets since the 2004 acquisition, so I don’t think they’ll take on another Henson production. But they did just add Dinosaurs and the Muppet Show to Disney+, so never say never

@@catherinecarterrhondacarte6094 I heard and Disney will now be in the candy business since it'll acquire Tootsie Roll Industries, the well-known makers of the Tootsie Roll candy which is one of my favorite candies of all time. Though the acquisition will be great and hopefully after Disney acquires, Tootsie Roll Industries, they'll do a Tootsie Roll animated movie with it's division Pixar and an animated TV series based on Tootsie Roll too from it's other division, Disney Television Animation. And Tootsie Roll will have a crossover with Mickey Mouse, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, 20th Animation, Marvel, Star Wars, Phineas and Ferb, Gravity Falls, Amphibia, The Owl House, The Ghost and Molly McGee and etc. in the future as well! Cool, right?

I can see why you put ABC first, but I respectfully disagree. ABC is a failing network. Fewer and fewer people are watching it and its relevance becomes less every year. Personally, neither I nor anyone in my family watches anything on this network. ESPN might still be relevant, for now, but even it is not popular as it was at the time it was acquired. I would have put Marvel or Pixar at the top and ABC after them, maybe even lower.

Yeah, Disney looks more like the vast Galactic Empire from Star Wars, while Warner Brothers and Paramount are the Rebellion.

I’m tired of that disney touch being everywhere
