Weird as a 90s kids I have literally no memory of the brief name change, but I'm so glad they returned to the original name. Also surprising to see there were THIS MANY ads for the cereal and most are 90s onwards and that they actually got to make new ones for CITV since the UK law changes.

As an American who grew up watching Snap Crackle & Pop instead of this monkey, I can definitely tell just how memorable and iconic these adverts were in the UK, especially during the 1986-06 period when Coco just couldn’t stop singing. I’m jealous of the Brits, is what I’m saying.

@@cerealmadActually, I only found about this recently, but apparently Coco DID have a few appearances in American commercials in the mid-to-late 90s. He replaced Snap Crackle & Pop as the mascot for Cocoa Krispies (the Coco Pops of the US) but he failed to make an impact, and so the elves took back his spot by the early oughts. By the time Coco was gone, I was a wee little kindergartner, so I never saw Coco on TV when he was around. Rowdy C. Moore made a video about Coco’s history in America if you’d like to learn more.

I loved the adverts with Coco and his Friends, at times I wished they had there own cartoon. Also, was that Brian Wilde who voiced Shortie!?!?! O__o

I wasn't even born at the time, but I'm glad they kept the name Coco Pops, sounds much better than Choco Krispies. Also, Kellogg's already used the word "Krispies" for one of their other cereals Rice Krispies.

I didn't even know they'd done new ads since the law change a number of years back and dear god the new ads are just...why?! Barely 10 seconds long with literally nothing of substance to em. I'd say Kelloggs wasted money making em, even though I give em props for making the parents be the ones wanting Coco Pops since it kiiiiinda gets around the law of not advertising junk food to kids, but still, very bland adverts.
