What a great, helpful, selfless idea to fill September with horror titles in order to cover them now when most people are planning their own spook shows for this month. Excellent and thanks for your sacrifice, Daniel! 👍

I wish I had gotten that Sleepy Hollow steelbook. Looks amazing. I had a lot of rewatches in September. Some of the highlights were: Mulholland Drive(Criterion), It Follows(Second Sight 4K), The Legend of Hell House(Scream Factory), and She Shoots Straight(Eureka). I completely forgot today was October 1st and I watched I Saw the Devil this morning instead of a movie from my October watch list. It was an excellent rewatch though.

I look forward to your uploads. Really enjoyable. Not watching any new releases, but I have been re-watching the Amityville films just recently. Other dvd/blu-rays I've watched over the past 2 weeks, or so, have been: The Crazies, The Mummy (Hammer 1959) The Hills Have Eyes remake, The Norliss Tapes (terrific film in my opinion) and going through my Kolchak The Night Stalker series plus the 2 previous movies. Great stuff. Thanks very much.

I’m with you as far as atmosphere…to me, atmosphere and storytelling are the two key ingredients for a good horror film. Gore and jump scares don’t impress me and are, in my opinion, signs of lazy filmmaking. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I didn’t care for X. It was like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre meets Boogie Nights, with more of its atmosphere coming from Boogie Nights, with some gore thrown in. Cobweb, on the other hand, was great. I’ve been a long time fan of both Eye of the Devil and Valerie and Her Week of Wonders, so it was nice to see them mentioned so positively.

I have to agree fully with you that "Valerie" was an excellent film. It's truly unfortunate about the underage stuff. The one thing that does indeed blemish the film for me. I, too, found out about it on "What a ghoul wants" channel a little over a year ago. She did a great, dreamy, folk horror video! One last question: Have you seen "VIY" (1967)? What a great Slavic witch tale! Great video, keep up the great work 👍

Has anyone ever confused you with comic actor Chris Elliott? Seriously, though, as a Trekker I just have to add, it was Mark Lenard who first played Spock's father, whereas I'm not into the 21st Century Trek movies. Ben Cross first crossed my radar as Harold Abrahams in Chariots of Fire and sadly I think his career has faltered ever since -- very glad to hear that The Unholy is actually good, plus Cross was okay as Malagant in First Knight. I seem to recall Eye of the Devil once popping up under its alternative title Thirteen, the kind of movie that's not nearly as scary as it is vaguely interesting, a look at an odd little civilization. On the subject of werewolves, I wonder if you've ever caught Silver Bullet, based on Stephen King and starring Gary Busey back when he could still act sane. I've also appreciated The Empty Man, which I thought successfully created a world of creepy dread. On the whole, some persuasive recommendations, thank you.

As a guy who just turned 30, it’s so wild to me that I’ve grown into Chris Elliott. 😂. But yeah, I’ve gotten that comment once before. I kinda see it now. And I’m a life-long Trekker too!

Oh, this is too funny: I just left a comment on the werewolf video about the Beast Must Die. Yeah, I really enjoy the film; watched it for the first time last year and I've been thinking about watching it again soon. I'm truly sorry you didn't like it. I didn't find it at all borinb, though the "werewolf break" is silly and yeah, you can't really say it's a tight mystery plot. The mystery is there though and I think it works, mostly because I enjoyed the characters and their portrayal. Also, the ending was surprisingly extremely downbeat. Cushing is supposed to be a norwegian in the movie, so I guess that's the accent he's doing. APparently he designed those colourful sweaters himself. I really enjoyed the director's commentary track.

  • @HorrorMetalMaestroRedrusty66

Beast Must Die is indeed pretty awful..lol. Red Riding Hood is decent, I enjoyed it in a mediocre way. I need to get Eye Of The Devil considering my new obsession with the film Haunting of Sharon Tate which I "Love Raved" about. New Years Evil is great classic cheese. The Unholy rocks inn the supernatural genre. MadMan is pretty righteous cheese. X and Pearl are both masterpieces, just so surprisingly great in both writing and execution. Both were in the top 5 of my list for that year. I will certainly be grabbing Cobweb next shopping trip,. it and Talk To me are top of my buy list for the next raid on my wallet. Sleepy Hollow isn't in my favs overall but it is one of my favs of Burton's catalog.

Oh no....I love The Beast must Die. I thought it was pretty different and fun. I never found it boring because the characters are so odd and interesting. Very cheesy. Love it. I totally agree with you on Madman. It's one of my favorite slashers. I love it! I know pretty much everyone in the world will disagree with me but I like it much much more than The Burning purely because of the characters. The characters here are so much more likable and interesting. Great spooky feel though and you can't beat that hot tub scene
