I have Celiac disease, and it sucks. I was diagnosed about 5 years ago on Christmas Eve. Because I went so long without being diagnosed or tested I only weighed about 94 pounds because my body kept rejecting anythying I ate. I was constantly throwing up almost daily and I was extremely weak. I don't know why the doctors didn't do anything but eventually I got tested and it came back positive. It sucks not being able to out of to lunch with your friends, or needing to always reject food from people while you're at parties or a gathering, and I'm still getting used to such a big diet change.

One thing about vitiligo, people don’t usually think about Sun exposure. The vitiligo patches are extremely sensitive to sunlight, and can react badly to constant exposure to the rays. Overexposure will lead to severe burns, sores, and possibly skin cancer. Sunscreen (50+) can help a bit, but when there is no pigment in the skin at all, there’s not much to be done except to keep covered, and monitor yourself to make sure you are not getting burnt.

I wasnt able to eat much and i drank like a fish. We went to the doctor every other day and my doctor just kept saying I was fine and to force me to eat. This went on for 2 weeks and caused me to lose 20 pounds. If it wasn't for a med student that was there at my last appointment id probably be a goner. The med student insisted that the doctor should check my blood sugar. My doctor was hesitant to check at first followed through. My sugar was 583. I was rushed to the hospital and they got insulin in me as soon as I got there. That doctor then tried to micromanage my diabetes. That doctor didn't last long to say the least

I actually have a rare autoimmune disorder called chronic uveitis, which causes inflamation inside the eye. Prolonged inflamation can cause cataracts, glacouma and scarring. I got cataract surgery at 26 years old in my right eye, and my iris muscles are so scarred they no longer move, so its perminatly dilated. Despite all that, i still somhow have about 85% vision, so it could have been a lot worse in retrospect.

I have hypothyroidism as shown by my blood tests, but my thyroid isn't enlarged and I have very few associated symptoms. I'm treating it with my doctor accordingly, but it shows how hypothyroidism isn't very understood.

My dad died from complications from an autoimmine disease called polymyositus. It was awful. 5 long years of watchinf him slowly deteriorate from a healthy man to someone who needed 28 pills a day and took 10 minutes ro get up the stairs. In the end covod+ lung cancer + myositus killed him off.

Missed the biggest symptoms of ms, brain fog and the infamous "hug" where you feel like your chest is being squeezed. I get numbness when it flares up pretty bad too, like the entire right side of my body going numb for a week. Heat, stress, and anything inflammatory make symptoms much worse

Ulcerative colitis here. Asthma but in your intestines. My diet has to be very soft and bland, as the fiber in some fruits, any amount of spice, or foods that cause gas are a major no-go. Fried foods are one of the worst offenders. Usually it's just stomach pain, presenting as a nasty, lingering burning feeling and a lot of pressure from swelling. It can cause malabsorbtion, which leads to weight loss, difficulty building strength, and some nutrient deficiencies. Painful and tiring. My gastro doctor also suspects I have a secondary rheumatoid issue, I have a lot of joint pains and a handful of other minor issues like eczema and generally having a weird immune system. A bottle of 30 pills that keep me normal for about a month cost $10,000. $120,000 a year to be normal-ish.

I developed celiac while in the womb. One un-fun fact is that if we do accidentally ingest gluten, we can get diarrhea for around twelve hours. Those are some of the only times I've ever pulled all-nighters. I've often gotten upset that I can't have everything my friends can, but I do like to bake, so that definitely mitigates the loneliness.
