Hyeyun Han a method actor gets themselves into a specific character, usually these type of people go into great depths to get into the mind of their character. For example Heath Ledger who literally isolated himself and only slept two hours a day to be able to portray the Joker's insanity. A character actor can switch between roles and personalities really quickly and the roles they take don't usually affect their personality in real life. Either type can be great actors, they just use different approach.
