Ziggy Stardust is currently my candidate for greatest album of all time, by anyone, ever. I find nothing I don't like in it, I listen from beginning to end without any desire to skip anything, with nothing able to distract me.

Diamond Dogs is the better Album by Bowie.
My top three 70's Bowie albums would be: 3. Ziggy Stardust 2. Hunky Dory 1. The Man who Sold the World
Hunky Dory has got to be my absolute favourite Bowie but as you said with Young Americans, it does depend on your genre affinity and I'm a massive folk/acoustic guy so this album ticks all the boxes for me.

I'm probably the only person to love Aladdin Sane so much as to say it is my favourite Bowie album. All the songs to me are flawless and I could replay the whole album over and over without getting bored. The guitar riffs are something special and the whole album just seems grand. Great work from the legendary David Bowie. R.I.P

Aladdin Sane is my Bowie favorite album, not only that Panic in Detroit is my fave song in the album and probably my all time favourite song in the world ( well maybe on pair with Pony by Annette Peacock)
You should do Radiohead someday if you dig them as much as I do. A very consistent discography and a diverse bunch of musicology unlike most bands they inspired such as Muse and Coldplay would go to the bottom of the pit of marketing sacrifice. I love your videos so much, mate. Keep it up.

Honestly, the top 3 albums could have been in any order for me. It’s like, Hunky Dory is Bowie’s perfect warmer/folkier album, while Low is his best album of the Berlin Trilogy, and Ziggy is his perfect glam rock album. (Also, thank you for the kind words :)

Hmmm. It would have to be a band that has lots of albums and lots of distinct periods, so that you can jump around genres and have lots of content… I think I would go with Sparks.
Im going on 50 and i always had maybe three or four bands i really got into and i stayed loyal and was happy with. I knew in the back of my mind i had to seriously get into two artists: The Beatles as well as David Bowie. Both have been such a heavenly experience. I knew i was wrong to think each was epic and legendary. Bowie has been blowing my mind. I really am in the phase where i gave them all a great listen and really overwhelmed at how good his stuff is. What i really love as well is going on KZread and seeing what the fans chime in about. Both good and bad. What a great artist and some of his stuff really touched me at such high level. What i loved more than anything is his massive energy he had and it effected everyone around him. You really can feel the void he left us with when he passed away. There have been quite a few times I've actually really cried at such a deep level just because he's so passionate about his lyrics. Like two songs that really get to me deep are Five Years, and Heroes. Just two masterpieces.
1. Ziggy 2. Hunky Dory 3. Low 4. Heroes 5. Aladdin Sane 6. Stationtostation 7. Young Americans 8. The man who sold the world 9. Lodger 10. Diamond Dogs 11. Pinups That’s my rating, but your’s was really great too! I think your channel is very underrated.
i literally dont know pretty much anything about david bowey but this guy still makes it fun to watch. props
Low was the first Bowie album I bought with my own money when I was 11 in 1977. The next year I won 3rd row seats to see him. It was on the level with see Elvis.
I despise people who think they rank rank bowie albums. Bowie is the only artist I know that is a crime to rank his albums because of their individuality and how *different* literally each album is from character, music, genre, even person
Lodger is my favorite bowie album, I got fascinated by it years ago. Though I am much more partial now to station to station.
You're putting all of my faves in the lows🥲

Great work! Good ranking! Thanks! For what it’s worth I have: 1. Ziggy 2. Hunky 3. Young Am 4. Stn to Stn 5. Heroes 6. Low 7. Diamond Dogs 8. Man WStW 9. Al Sane 10. Lodger 11. Pinups So I agree with you on 1st & last. And it’s Bowie, so being 3rd last is no disgrace - I love Aladdin Sane. The top 9 are probably all masterpieces. This is the greatest output by anyone in the decade - possibly by a fair margin!
Lady grinning soul has been my favourite since I know Bowie
These type of videos are the motive of why i Watch yt
Hunky Dory is my favourite, but Aladdin Sane for me is at least top 3, a crazy Setlists with special songs
I love the David Bowie soul sound. I think Young Americans is S tier, and yes, Pin Ups is the worst.
Diamond Dogs is a sweet thing (no pun intended). The transitions between each song make it a perfect soundtrack for night walking around a industrial and messy city. It just really feels like the paradigm of 70's exploitation for me.
Lodger sounds a bit like some of the Talking Heads middle years, food for thought.
Finally!!!!!
Can't believe you didn't mention Changes when talking about Hunky Dory. Anyway, here's my ranking: 1. Aladdin Sane 2. Ziggy Stardust 3. Low 4. Station to Station 5. Hunky Dory 6. Heroes 7. Diamond Dogs 8. Young Americans 9. Lodger 10. The Man Who Sold The World 11. Pin Ups (still a fun album)

Personally for me I absolutely love The man who sold the world, It is my favourite Bowie album tied with Station to station
Nice list. I am one of the few who likes “pinups” and would have it near the top. Mainly because I remember “sorrow” when it came out as a single, and my mom bought it. Also as a teenager I bought pinups 2nd hand, and really love its raw energy and up front production. Love “Roselyn” also. I think my top 5 would look like this: 1. Alladin sane 2. Low 3. Ziggy 4. Pinups 5. Hunky dory The rest are just ok for me. I am not a fan of “hero’s”, only the song.
Life on mars is such a great song
Epic
Station To Station would be much higher on my list. I even put it above the Berlin trilogy which pretty much makes it my favorite of his

Station to Station no. 1
Preface: Anything after number 10 is basically joint 3rd for me. 1. Station to Station 2. Ziggy Stardust 3. Lodger 4. Heroes 5. Hunky Dory 6. Low 7. Aladdin Sane 8. Diamond Dogs 9. The Man Who Sold the World 10. Young Americans 11. Pin Ups

My absolute favorite by him is Scary monsters but we're only talking about the 70s so: 1. Aladdin Sane 2. Ziggy Stardust 3. Low 4. Station to station 5. Hunky Dory 6. Diamond dogs 7. The man who sold the world 8. Lodger 9. Young americans 10. Heroes 11. Pin ups
We will not tolerate the Big Brother slander.
Why don’t you do an album ranking of queen albums
Yo creo, q el álbum the man who sold the world, suena tan distinto a otros de Bowie es porque Mick Ronson tomó las riendas de la producciones de las canciones, en esa época Bowie se habia casado, pero el tipo de letra si suena a su estilo, pero la música si suena mega distinta muy proto metal
In my opinion you could get one great Album from the Berlin trilogy! I personally don't agree with your order of choice, but that's me!
Mon préféré est Lodger puis Ziggy Stardust et enfin Hunky Dory.
Aladdin Same easy #1 coz he’s literally me fr
i agree with diamond dogs .. i like the first half a lot but that end song is questionable…. i laughed at this part tho LMAO 2:13

When I hear it, there is nowhere else I'd rather be.
Eno! Man Who Sold the World too low
'Queen Bitch' was *definitely* a predecessor to The Killers 'Mr Brightside' 😆
I've been a Bowie fan for over 50 years and we are all entitled to our own opinion but I cannot agree with your ranking of the 70s albums Hunky Dory is in my opinion his greatest album just for one of the greatest songs ever Quicksand
My ranking, more or less, is: 11. Pin Ups 10. Ziggy Stardust 9. Aladdin Sane 8. Heroes 7. Young Americans 6. Low 5. Station To Station 4. The Man Who Sold The World 3. Lodger 2. Hunky Dory 1. Diamond Dogs
1. The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars 2. Station to Station 3. Heroes 4. Aladdin Sane 5. Hunky Dory 6. The Man Who Sold the World 7. Diamond Dogs 8. Low 9. Young Americans 10. Lodger 11. Pinups
As I Bowie fan of over 50 years I always find it intriguing that people ranking his albums always rank 'Low' very high. Side 1 is phenomenal but the other side never did it for me. Probably because Bowie's vocals are sublime to me.
My brother in Christ, please rank The Beach Boys discography

I’m in the process of it, it just takes a long time, cause there is like 30 and a lot them I haven’t listened to. It will come out this year, but probably much later.
Ziggy Stardust is a Master piece. Please dont forget the songs you mention (sweet head and velvet goldmine) are NOT a part of it. At least in 1972 when I bought it. That songs are not in the story of Ziggy. The album finish with the sudicide of ziggy. That is how it was concieved. In 21 century i guess they added that songs that spoil ( in my humble opinion) the concept of the album. 😊
Pin Ups was great.

Interesting, music is subjective so no two lists will ever be the same. For example 'Diamond Dogs' is Top 5 all day long ..... for me. Along with Aladdin Sane, Hunky Dory, Station to Station, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust, and Scary Monsters. Oh that's 6 😆 however Scary Monsters slipped into 1980 so it's fine.
@Daniel.Barret.Official
7 ай бұрын
Well Scary Monsters is the best album in that list other than Station to Station imo so it's best that it's not a 70s album
Young Americans is a great album tho
This ranking is a crime, haha. But I enjoyed your comments while majorly disagreeing
I hope you have Young Americans a couple more listens. It's ranked two spots too low
Low is better than Ziggy Stardust
If the best songs from Low and Heroes were combined into a single album it could have been as good as Station To Station.
How don't you skip Rock N Roll with me? It so doesn't belong on that album.
It aint easy from ziggy is out of place
XD
It's a pretty obvious question, but who are you to decide which Bowie album is the best? I mean that in the best way. Maybe you knew Bowie, maybe you knew his band, or maybe, I mean it's a long shot, but maybe you are just trying to get views on KZread?

Its opinion mate😂 he never said the ranking was objective 😂
You loose a bit of credibility with the cartoon stuff.....I can't take you seriously like I can Barry from Classic Album Review.
Yes, I know it's just your personal preference, but, apart from "Ziggy Stardust", your choices are ridiculous. "David Live" was atrocious and obviously the worst. And "Pinups" and "Young Americans" should be far higher, and "Lodger" and "Low" a lot lower. And that isn't just my personal opinion, it's the last word on the matter. 🧐
70s start from year 71 there is no year zero so your list is flawed
@TheWaterlooWatermelon

I know, but it’s weird to say “Bowie’s 1971-1980 albums,” and most people just consider the 70s to be 1970-1979 because of that reason. I had a dream about it once where my teacher called me stupid for calling it “the 70s” and not “1971-1980.”
