Alex Iwobi gave Everton a dream start but the Blues’ unbeaten run came to an end after a narrow 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Goodison Park.
Buoyed by two straight Premier League victories and without tasting defeat in seven matches in all competitions, Frank Lampard’s men looked to be on their way to more success when Iwobi stroked home a sweet 25-yard finish past David de Gea with just five minutes on the clock.
That proved to be the peak moment, however, with Everton the makers of their own downfall as mistakes in possession enabled Anthony to level on 14 minutes before substitute Cristiano Ronaldo netted his 700th club goal just before the break.
The Toffees were much improved in the second half - with the welcome return of Dominic Calvert-Lewin off the bench - but they could not find a leveller despite a spirited response.

Casemiro is class. His defending, covering and passing is very good. He doesn't let his mistakes keep him down. Still rusty a little bit but he is getting better by every match.

Dude, he played terribly causing that first goal and missplacing so many balls too, had some recoveries here and there and gave the assist but other than that it was a very mixed game from him far from ideal. If mctominay made that first mistake you know for sure everyone from our fanbase will be scolding him

A entraining and thrilling encounter. The goal scored by Iwobi was a rare beauty. Everton played well but the few minor lapses cost them heavily.

@@richizzledinzzle5442 yh tbh the way in which the goals where conceded makes it more likely to neglect man's performance coz it's 3 point lost..but still man was the only person on the pitch from both teams he played as a cm,amf,dm,rb nd scored a goal he did good, lampard's tactics of rotating the midfield was what fucked with the game..the midfield was where united won everyone should have sticked to their positions
