Everett Railroad 11: Steam on the Cove Branch [4K]
Фильм және анимация
As the weather begins to warm up, the landscape once again becomes alive, with flourishing plants being accompanied by the sounds of the new season. Along with this, came the sound of steam, hissing and roaring through the valleys of Blair County. One such example is the Everett Railroad's very own 2-6-0 #11 which was tasked with pulling the first Cabin Fever and Steam Into the Cove excursions of 2024. Based in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, the modest yet resilient little mogul worked up the steep grades of the railroad's Cove Branch.
The Everett Railroad 11 was constructed in 1923 by the American Locomotive Company's Cooke Works, initially classified as a 260-111 class 2-6-0 Mogul. Built with intentions of serving Cuba's sugar cane fields, she never reached her intended destination due to post-World War I sugar industry fluctuations. After three years of idleness, the Narragansett Pier Railroad rescued her, assigning the number she proudly bears today. Following a commendable 14-year tenure with the NP, she found a new home with the Bath & Hammondsport Railroad of Western New York until her retirement in 1949. Stored in their engine house until 1955, she sat dormant until acquired by the Rail City Museum. She finally found sanctuary in 2006 under Alan Maples of the Everett Railroad. After an extensive restoration, 11 returned to faithfully serve the Everett Railroad, hauling the railroad's many passenger excursions since 2015.

Great Video of Everett Railroad #11 in operation here. It will one of two steam locomotives in operation here at the ERR with the other being Everett Railroad #38 (A.K.A Huntington & Broad Top #38, built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in April 1927).

@@TrainChamber Holy moly, where do I begin?! So after I made my last video on my KZread channel, I visited my Dad down in Florida for summer vacation. (This was in May 2019. Man, how fast time flies!) But wouldn't you know it, my mom did some real stupid things while I was away (not even gonna get into it. That's WAY too long of a story. Honestly, it goes back YEARS). So while I was down in Florida, my Dad actually gained custody of me! So I had to start adjusting to my new life down here, but you know what, I'm actually doing great! I was 11 back when I made the move. I was 185 lbs (WAY overweight for that age), had a terrible time controlling my autism and ADHD, and had no structure in my life. Nowadays, I'm 16 (going on 17). I'm a junior in high school, I grew a lot, and I have a great job! I plan on taking my driving test sometime over the summer. I currently live with my dad, stepmom, stepbrother, and a large, fluffy dog! Sorry I wrote an entire essay lol. Just filling ya in on stuff!
