What lens do you use for dancing footage, an 85mm? You always have the best footage of dancing

+Jim K. We rented 2 lenses for this. Zeiss milvus 50mm and 85mm. Used both of those for dancing.

So, I just noticed you don't include stuff like the events at the reception, do you save that for longer videos? Do couples ever mention that they miss seeing that as part of the video? Watching it, it doesn't feel lacking at all, just was something I noticed while editing mine and realizing I always feel like I need to include that stuff for the couple.

+starshipvelcro hey! You're right, I don't haha. That's something I've learned over the years, I can take a lot of stuff out of a wedding day and it still has the essence of it. If couples want things like their first dance then they'll tell me when I meet with them and I ask. I try to not include unnecessary stuff, and usually reception events are unnecessary.

Super helpful! If a couple acts like they want a lot of those details you tend to cut, do you just tell them that you aren't a good fit for them?

Recently purchased a Sony A6300 and was looking to buy a stabilizer, among a few other things I still don't have. But I wanted to ask, do I need a battery grip for additional weight to keep it stable? The few lenses I have at the moment are very light. So far I'm looking at the Flycam DSLR Nano HD or Flycam HD-3000, and also wanted to know which (if either) you'd recommend. Loving your videos and all the helpful content you post, Matt! Please keep it comin!

+Ellipsis hey! I would go with the flycam hd-3000. I haven't tried it but reviews look good. You shouldn't need a battery grip.

Great to know. Yeah, the HD-3000 reviews look promising, and overall, the Flycam stabilizers seem comparable to the Glidecams. Some reviewers have mentioned that with other cheaper stabilizers, the Sony mirrorless cameras can be difficult to balance because they're so lightweight, especially with smaller lenses. A few use battery grips to help with this, but I wanted to avoid that if possible. Many thanks!

Matt, have you done a tutorial on how you edit different speeds through one shot like in the reception parts of this vid? Do you use Twixtor or something? If so, what's the link and If not, could you do a tutorial on this? Thanks.
