Great unit when used correctly. Not a stomp box where you just blow through some presets playing whatever and make it sound good.

Hi Komusou, The guitar went direct into a preamp (Line6 pod on very clean settings) into the Eclipse and played out of my studio monitors. Then used external microphone (Rode NT4) into the camcorder. Hope that helps!

I use my Eventide Eclipse & TC Electronic G-Major for all kinds of instruments. The Eclipse is great for Bells and the G-Major is very good for flutes. Pitch shifting on the Eventide really sucks but it is a very clean FX unit.

You know, I have been thinking the same and havea birthday coming up so *might* treat myself. However, 25 years as a guitarist say "Yes!" but four weeks of learning piano say "Are you crazy?" The simple truth is it won't help you write amazing music and the Eventide gear is big in guitarists minds because of Vai. However, where this gear excels is in recording and processing. I can hear many applications there and this is the bulk of their market. Hope this helps!

I gues if you are into the whole ambient delay sound this is cool. Does it do anything else but delays. I just got the lastest guitarworld and I gues I will ahve to find out because even though the sound seemed really full the large delay settings do nothing for my style of playing.

I used to own the Axe Fx Standard. I parted ways with the Axe because the Eventide Factor pedals sound better. Also, the amp models on the Axe are VERY overrated. Axe makes the guitar sound dark. Eventide is more transparent and does not suck tone.

murterock, Hi, yes there is noticeable delay before the next preset loads - if you need 'lightning' sound switches -then I dont recommend it. Between songs though, it would be fine........ hth Alan

This might be a dumb question but you can plug a guitar straight into this? I have an engl e530 I was going to plug into this but if I don't need to then won't bother. I just wanted this for some clean effects mostly.

Hi Brian, (Slight caveat that I sold this unit years ago now !) But yes, you can plug guitar straight in and the sound is pretty neutral ie what you put in - you get out (+ effects.....) best of luck AL

The harmonizer on this unit is very glitchy, just like in my H3000... On the H8000 is perfect though. I wonder if on the H7600 is works as good as in the h8000?

were the inputs and outputs ran in stereo or mono?

Hi Scott, Honestly it was so long ago (!!) that I am not sure. It was defintitely just mono IN (guitar signal) and I think it was recorded on a single mic in front of the speakers - so probably not capturing the full stereo effect............

123lowp, you must be JOKING. I've been gigging with the Axe FX for quite some time, and IMHO there's nothing on the market that even comes close. Tinny, clear guitar is easy to get recording direct like this, but it's not the right sound for "live". You need to listen again.

+zaerkus SURE - if you want to put keyboards through it - it will 'work' - the manufacturers had studio recording/producers in mind I think when they designed the unit - but hey - experimentation can produce cool results!! Good luck!
