What other mods not covered in 1, 2, 3 do you remember and love?

A major one you missed is called Evil Minecraft for 1.2.5 and the Legend of Notch for 1.2.5, quite the large scaled mod back in the day that was basically an expansion/overhaul of the game. On another note I think a video discussing the modding scene for older versions like 1.7.3 beta, 1.7.10, and 1.12.2 as it is today, especially 1.7.10 since in the past few years some amazing mods have been created for it. Just look at mods like ManaMetal, Angelica, and Et Futurum Requiem to see that the community is still very much alive while still being smaller than the community today.

Remember the John mod? It was the original horror mod that got famous. I mean, it wasn't really horror. No less than most of the modern Minecraft horror mods lol. But it was still such a nostalgic mod for me. And it became one of my favorites next to the twilight forest mod.

Fun fact: A recreation of OreSpawn for modern versions by the name of Chaos Awakens is currently in the works. Although, they themselves call it a 'spiritual successor' and are completely remaking all of the art assets for the features they add, presumably not to attract the ire of TheyCallMeDanger. Not sure why they would want to use the original stuff in the first place, anyway; half of it was clearly self-taught (and not in a good way), and the other half he directly stole from other people without any credit...
when are you going to include the necromancy mod in one of these videos? you know, the one where you can combine parts of different mobs to make any freaky Frankenstein creature you could possibly want? that mod was so cool.

Funnily enough I remember a different invasion mod infinitely more. You set up a block to defend and waves of monsters would try to break it by slowly progressing and getting stronger and smarter, destroying and creating ways into the structure housing it. You try and see how long you can last before the block is destroyed. I loved combining it with other mods to see how good of a defense I can manage.

Minecraft Comes Alive- stopped in 1.12.2, but it was incredibly funny and thorough, especially with the villager editor (that used to crash my game sometimes).
That could have been an epic segway to one of those food delivery sponsors 5:18
An old one that I loved and I don't think you've covered, The Erebus. Or, the bug dimension. It never got passed the 1.7.10 wall iirc, but the mod was great for adventure seekers.
@Lanuzos
2 ай бұрын
Erebus might not be further updated for a while now. However this mod didn’t end on 1.7 like witchery for example did. Erebus did get updated to 1.12.2 just like Galactictaft did. Whether it got new content or just got ported, I don’t know. But Erebus can also be played in 1.12, in fact, I did with a friend. We fought the tarantula boss and got to see all those insects, and the dreaded wasp as well. Since you‘ve addressed the Erebus, I‘d like to list some more mods that ended on 1.12.1: Abyssalcraft The Betweenlands Galacticraft OpenBlocks Morph
Clay soldiers mod was like a core memory of my childhood playing minecraft with mods
Witchery was actually made popular by SSundee, but hey, cant blame you for making that mistake. he had an extensive long=running series in which Witchery was most prominent due to it allowing him and crainer to constantly prank each other with various curses and voodoo.
I remember having lots of fun with a mod called Hack Slash Mine. It got discontinued super quick and I always wished someone would bring it back one day. Man I can’t believe that was over a decade ago now..
Maaaaaan, IC2 (and in extension, Gregtech), and thaumcraft were two of the largest mods that consumed my time playing Modded mincraft. Wish either would get picked up again and brought to 1.20
@zeromortalsplan
Ай бұрын
GregTech is still maintained, but the mod developer has made the choice to stick to 1.7.10 alongside a small portion of others (Reika's mods are also an example) that didn't want to rewrite their mods for 1.8 and above. There are unofficial ports to newer versions as far as I know. Thaumcraft has been picked up by the CoFH team (the guys behind Thermal Expansion) and is being ported to newer versions IIRC.
There was "little blocks" it made nimi block sort of like chisel and bits
Clay Soldier Mods is one of my favorite mods made. I remember making arenas for them to fight in. I remember spending hours building maps and then spawning all the units and getting the parts to give them weapons, horses, etc. just to have a 3-5 minute fight, but it was always worth it
Fun fact about Cory Scheviak: not only is he the creator of Tropicraft and an organizer for Love Tropics, Cory also became a Minecraft dev back in 2018(Just like how Kingbdogs created the Aether mod then later became a Minecraft dev)
This video title could not be more accurate. I had COMPLETELY forgotten about clay soldiers. That mod was so much fun
That thumbnail unlocked some core memories, I loved watching the clay soldier mod back when I was little cause I didn't have minecraft on PC and didn't even know how to mod it
Never have i *EVER* forgotten Clay Soldiers. I just randomly thought about that mod earlier this month. Without it I wouldn't still be trying to run Mini Empire servers a decade after lol
I remember messing around with Electroblob's Wizardry, I *loved* that mod. It adds magic in a way that feels pretty vanilla friendly (Not quite as much as something like Spells & Shields, but much more vanilla-friendly than stuff like the plethora of tech-y magic mods), so I'm happy to hear an unofficial port in the works! :D
tale of kingdoms, clay soldiers, and millenaire are my all time favorite minecraft mods just for how much they added with what little they had
Witchery is a certified hood classic for magic mods, I miss it because it honestly set the gold standard for me with what a magic mod can be.
I could never forget the Clay Soldiers mod, it's honestly one of my favorite mods.
One of my favourites growing up was "Custom NPCs". Making entire armies with different factions took up a lot of my time as a kid. "Gulliver's Travels" was also another one I messed around with. I also really loved "Modular Powersuits" which I never hear anyone talk about but apparently it's updated to 1.20 and has over 12 million downloads so I'm not sure what's up with that. There's also "Mutant Mobs" which isn't exactly niche but is still mostly stuck in the past. "Adventure Craft" was also a lot of fun back in the day, especially as a big Zelda fan
Minecraft mods are something special
Tropicraft and clay soldiers were my favorite mods back in the day. Thanks for reminding me :)
I still remember the Ars Magica mod for 1.7.10 it was one of the best magic mods ever but sadly it doesn't work anymore in 1.7.10

Not sure what you mean by "doesn't work anymore", but if you are interested, there is an unofficial version called Ars Magica 2.5 for 1.7.10 as well.
I loved Millenaire so damn much. When I was a kid I spent hours in creative mode giving the villages with so much resources and watch the villages upgrade and expand themselves. Iirc you can also make them wage war with each other.
Thank you thank you ryan, I was searching tale of kingdoms mod for a long time.
Millenaire is what got me interested in history in the first place, I was always fascinated about how the Normans have Norse ancestry and the Byzantines are essentially just medieval Romans. I still hold to hope that it may someday update to 1.16.
Hours? I spent WEEKS building Clay Soldiers arenas back in the day. Such fun times
the clay soldiers omgg, I felt like nobody else remembered that
Ive been looking for clay soldiers for ages! thank you!
Oh these mods. Back then was so pure😭. Miss those
tropicraft was my go to mod back then whenever i was a wee redstoner, the items from the mod are just so pretty. same goes for clay soldiers, i REALLY hope someone makes a new version of it, it'd be so fun to have the little clay friends back.
The thumbnail alone takes me back, back to a time where i made areanas for those guys to fight in.
I'm honored two of my suggestions commented on the last video were used as the top 2 in this one! Just now got around to watching this. I so miss the days of Minecraft that I experienced as a child. Minecraft felt more like a world to get lost in, whereas now in modern Minecraft there's goals and progression that can tend to make the game feel more like a chore than an immersive experience. Thanks for the nostalgia!
those clay soldiers are ingrained in my head from Dantdm, I don't remember most episodes but I vividly remember his clay army one
NGL, I have a separate modpack specifically for Millenaire. I literally consider it one of my CORE mods because of how much fun it STILL is. I hope it gets updated once again.
Clay soldiers mod actually inspired me to buy Minecraft. When I did get Minecraft java edition, the mod didn't hold up to all the recent and modern mods so I didn't even play the mod. I'll never forget the clay soldiers mod because I wouldn't have found out about Minecraft earlier if not for the clay soldiers mod. Also does anyone remember the alien vs predator mod or custom npcs?
i used to want clay soldiers SO MUCH when i first learned about it from Dan TDM's video on it way back in 2014. im sad to know that the mod is pretty much dead

Chocolate Quest is another one, there’s also a team working on Chocolate Quest Repoured to bring it to newer versions. You could maybe do a video about old mods and newer counterparts like Cobblemon/Pixelmom, Chocolate Quest/CQR, and Orespawn/Chaos Awakens (a project, a bit unlike CQR, as it’s entirely reworking and enhancing Orespawn content, still very early in development though)
I miss Clay Soldiers. I tried pairing it with a player shrinking mod, and it was fun watching their interactions and battles from their POV. If the 1.20.1 fork's development ever continues, I'd pair it with Pehkui and Chisels & Bits. Gonna build em appropriately sized homes/towns using the latter and use the former to shrink myself, which also nerfs my strength, so I could actually join their battles myself, heh.
Wow.. These are forgotten mods huh.. I think I still have many of them in my Minecraft mods folder, it's funny how time flies and how I enjoyed those days so much, but hey, things happen.
Man,I remember when redstone lamps first released while I was a kid.It was such a great leap forward, alongside all the technology-based mods that it spawned as a result. Anyone remember Bluezephos being utterly incredulous at Sips & Sjin creating a fccking black hole bomb?
Millenaire is the reason why I love 1.12.2 so much !
Aww man I remember wanting to play with the Clay Soldiers so bad but not understanding how to mod as a kid
I remember Millenaire! I used to play with that mod back in beta 1.6 Oh the nostalgia :O
Clay soldiers mod was such a neat little idea.
To answer that one question, I feel you're too used to saying "Tears of the Kingdom" that you say "Tales of the kingdom" instead of "Tale of Kingdoms" I know that feeling.
You should mention fossils & archeology someday, It even returned with much more scientifically accurate dinos and a bossfight!
4:50 have the bewitchment mod, is the continuous of witchery
Also checkout NetherCraft mod. Maybe the oldest nether expansion mod.
Millenaire has always been good for a fun time. I would install different mods to go with it, things like mo creatures and aether. There was another I remember installing called the magic wood mod, which would add additional trees into the world as well as their respective subblocks including chests. I was legitimately shocked when the villages used some of the blocks from the magic wood mod. It wasn't extensive, they just used what trees were in the area during generation, but it sticks out in my memory as a unintentional interaction between different mods.
Creeps and Weirdos mod I remember a lot from Slyfoxhound. And timber was a classic as well.
I NEED SOMEONE TO BRING BACK CLAY SOLDIERS
Another old mod that got a bit popular was the Hack and Slash mod. It turned the game into an rpg with classes and overhauled a lot of mechanics.
witchery is being continued as bewitchment, I almost made it a part of my personal 1.12.2 pack, I also have tropicraft and birfrost (a fan continuation of orespawn) as pretty integral components.
Electroblobs wizardry is not forgotten, its still a very popular mod that is used in a lot of modpacks.
i think about claysoldiers on a weekly basis. i will never forget the clay-shed
Man the Call to Battle 2 mod was amazing. Shame it never has players now.

Clay soldier is my childhood.
I remember clay soldiers i was seeded the mod years ago on a video.i still like these little dudes
There was a mod/modpack back in beta (iirc) which made the game incredibly more difficult. I can never remember its name but I remember that you had to create braces any time you went mining or else roof would cave in. I also remember there being multiple stone variants back way before they were a thing, and it being difficult to get to stone tools. Basically like an OG RLCraft. If you could find this mod, I'd be incredibly grateful
i remember mod called overlord and there was alos one with spaceships but i do not remember it's name, i still remember flying to the mars and searching for domes
I am going to watch your other videos, But my personal memorable mods from Beta were Train Craft, Plastic Craft, and the airship mod. Plastic craft was such a weird little early tech mod before technic or build craft really got popular.
I remember this oddball zelda themed minimod that had a boomerang, bombs, hearts and grass that you could cut down to get most of these things, it also had some fancy star shard that occasionally fell from the sky at night sort of like terraria, though the name escapes me it was neat to add a bit more spice to exploring. I remember another with medieval knight style armors and shield or dual weilding long before minecraft had shields or an off-hand slot.
God Tropicraft was one of my favorite mods back in the day. Absolutely legendary.
I remember having really fond memories of playing with early versions of Thaumcraft back when it was just kind of a janky mess; retextured silverfish that turn into normal ones at the drop of a hat, items with metadata bordering on what Minecraft could handle back then, as well as mechanical jank like stopping cauldrons from spilling their sludge by just surrounding them with pipes. Another mod that has long been forgotten, but laid the groundwork for so much was mDiyo's inficraft. I still laugh at how he had the idea of being able to make tools out of varying materials where each material had its own unique properties to the tool, but the easiest way for him to implement that at this early stage was to just make a unique item for every possible combination of materials. Now there are several mods that have continued it legacy, from mDiyo directly he made Tinker's Construct, but there's also Tetra Tools as well as Silent Gear now filling that niche as well.
Tbh I never really realised how long it has been since these great mods, and kind of explain why I stopped playing Minecraft, most of the mods like millenaire never were updated. It's also sad that community even then were better developers than mojang, we still don't have official mod support and promised mod tools is unheard of. It gives a clear message.
Electroblobs witchery is the best magic mod personally bc it was way more simple while still having some complexity compared to like all the magic
i miss Electroblob's Wizardry so much, is my favorite mod ever
I remember Bibliocraft and I miss it, I remember checking the website just to see the progress on Bibliocraft, I hope the author behind it is doing something they enjoy, regardless of they’re modding or not.
Clay Soldairs should be picked up by a Golem Mod Developer you know build actual big castles with different colored golems that can fight for you and against each other that would be cool
Ah, I remember playing a modpack that included Witchery with my older brother. Thanks for reminding me of it dude
i remember lion's king mod, it was also completely new dimension and sadly stopped being updated
Worth noting there is a Clay Soldiers mod someone made for versions 1.18 up to 1.20.1 for both Forge and Fabric.
Old Red Power, Buildcraft, Industrial Craft, Divine RPG, Mo Creatures, balkon’s weaponsmod, Railcraft, old GregTech, Forestry. Buildcraft with pipes, where you can see actual items being transported was so freaking good, or even fluids, like you can literally see fluid in pipes, thats insane. In current mods that adding any type of pipes, nobody added this, it is just invisible, so boring... I miss so much old technological modpacks old GregTech with BC and Red Power, and then Applied Energestics came out, after him everyone started to use Applied, and that is so sad. I cant believe 10 years have passed so quickly, man... bring me back in those old days please...

i remember one old mod Portal Gun, it's give more stuff from Portal game I even have proof of the existence of this Mod on the channel where the atmospheric music of Turrets is recorded because in this mod it was possible to place Turrets from Portal, Turrets that attacked everything in sight, including the player, and there was a chance that the turret placed would be "different", i.e. peaceful towards the player, and then if you placed 4 of them next to each other, they would start playing

Witchery did get updated as Witchery: Resurrected that was only available for 1.12.2. It's a remake of the mod but has everything from back in the day. Sadly it was last seen in January 20th 2022 as it's last updated on version 1.12.2.
How has there been 3 episodes without ever bringing up the old 1.7.10 godzilla mod 😭🙏
Clonecraft, or the My Peoples mod which has been last updated since 1.7.10, while not being the most popular mod- It is rather unique as you can use syringes through a process to clone mobs in the game as a sort of offset to creative mode's spawn eggs. You can also clone yourself in which you can set the clone to target certain mobs, harvest or do all sorts of tasks for you. Too bad it seems like no one has ever made a more modern remake since then because it is one of my favorite concepts for a mod I watched DanTDM play with back then. Also, I been looking for Tale of Kingdoms for so long man, you do not know how much I longed for to play that mod since Paul played it and I got Minecraft years later before getting MC in 1.6.4 and even years later after that. It is certainly a big mod for its time to have been discontinued like that.
