I have one of those, and arguably the best thing about this bass is how well balanced the weight is. Even with a 35" 6 string neck, there is practically ZERO neck drop. Is it heavy? Sure, it's definitely heavier than your standard SR bass. But it's MUCH lighter than my German made 5 string Warwick. I play most of my gigs with Warwick basses, but the songs I play with this bass sound good ONLY with this bass. Such a unique sound!

It’s always been a shame to me that Ibanez’s bass department has always been so much more innovative than their guitar department.
Mate that bass is gorgeous btb basses sound thunderous and they have a 35 inch scale so if you wanna tune down to A or G sounds great still
I wish ibanez would bring back the early 80s musician series.

I agree I used to own an Ibanez Les Paul copy from that series and I wish I had held onto it was a great guitar.
I need this in 7 string and multiscale, maybe headless. I looooove the BTBsc and SRsc, they need more attention for sure.
Sick bass, great vid I subbed
i was able to get this thing recently, and the range of sound it has is insane!! also didn’t even know you could detach the little finger thing LOL
My brother has a very similar bass, it’s basically the same thing just has a upper horn instead of the whale head thing that connects to the neck, and I can say it plays and feels awsome
This bass sat at my guitar center for a couple months and it was still one of the funnest ones to play
If only the same amount of thought and design was the norm when it comes to guitars. But the moment something is more ergnomically designed than a single cut, offset, a superstrat or any conventional shape then it’s “controversial” 😂
I had a 5 string with a rosewood top and maple board I miss that bass

I have a terra firma from their first run. Its a smooth bass that packs a lot of punch and its lighter than you think it is. If you get the chance to sit down and play one i highly recommend it.
bartolini makes some of THE best bass pickups
I own two Ibanez basses. They are by far the nicest basses I've ever played per dollar. Of course a $2k+ custom shop J bass is nicer than the SR405E that I got for $150. However, this $150 5 string is STILL one of the best basses I've ever played.
I had a BTB 5 string a few years back, one of the nicest basses I’ve played and felt like an acoustic hanging around your neck. Boy I miss that thing
I've played one before. It's been like 6 years, and I still think about it.
I have a BTB in walnut with 2 cutaways, active bartolinis. Absolute favorite bass, it can play Anything!

I had one of these. I loved this guitar. I gotta get myself another one
Bought an ax star new in 87. Always loved Ibanez
My favorite bass is my left-handed Thundercat signature autographed by the man. I also have one of Buckethead's actual bass guitars from a show I went to. I got him a fertile chicken egg in a portable incubator.
i love that the front looks like a picture of a bass printed on a block of wood
brbr deng 😈
Just by the woods alone this must be a growl machine
Got the BTB 805 multi scale. Massive boom from the 38 " Big B , also clear as a bell , and sustains forever.... Thumpin n plucking forever....
That logo is dangerously close to the black veil brides logo
I owned an Ibanez BTB1206e and it had many of these same features, except for the zero fret. IT WAS *THE* BEST BASS I'VE EVER PLAYED. I miss it, but I needed to trade it in for a bigger, better amp.
My wife said if I bought another bass, she'd divorce me. I'm gonna miss her.
Dude you need tongs for hands for that beast... I ❤ it
That looks almost exactly like the Black Veil Brides logo, that was what caught my eye from the thumbnail
It's interesting to see Ibanez use "BTB" in one of their models as they used it for one of their JS (Joe Satriani) signature guitars and it stood for "burnt transparent blue"
That's a beautiful bass. Plus, with Bartolinis...I'm sold.

Divided opinions? I think we can all agree it’s gorgeous
Thats a sick guitar. Unfortunately it was proven that only pickups and strings matter for actual sound (plus the onboard EQ etc) but it looks nice.
I hope Charles B reviews this too. 👍🏼👍🏼
Ibanez: “what features do you want on your instrument.” Designers: “Yes.”
Wth I'm sometimes overwhelmed with 4 strings not knowing what or what not to do with it. That thing is nuts!
“The BTB866SC Whaterver” I love that we all just give up on Ibanez names😭
I used to hate this shape when it came out. Then one day at a store I saw one in person, and I fell in love before I even touched it. Idk what it was. I always like the BTB’s but the necks were a little too uncomfortable to me (just seemed bigger? Idk if they actually are or if it’s just an illusion but I was also used to warwicks.) I’m considering getting a 5 string version of one at some point.
@michaeljarvis5489

Yeah, when I first saw one of these types, I thought it was one ugly cabinet maker's project. But after I've had some later looks, I really want one. One that has that lobe pushing up a little before the slight curve into the neck, like this one. Not so much the ones that have a nearly flat turn into the neck or even cut back away a little, like most of the single cuts that I've seen.
And it comes with a free chiropractor's appointment after your back goes out
I’ll be getting one of these very soon
I like a more "subtle" single cut design, maybe with a light brownish woody finish and overall simple design.
now... shred on it
I know that one ! That's the bass Kita buys by mistake thinking it was a guitar in Bocchi the Rock !
Surprised BVB(black Vail Brides) hasn't said anything about that BTB logo. Awfully similar. BVP probably doesn't even know and if they did might not care but still. Look up the BVB logo
I LOVE that bass! It's fantastic.
Love their SR 5string❤️
I got the 6string maple fretboard version. I love it. It's big but it is pretty comfortable.
I'm not even a bass player, but DAYUM
One of those basses that looks kind of over-extravagant but if a big-name player in the jazz/fusion/prog rock scene started using it, it would become a "famous" model.
That's a hefty chonker!
I am a guitar player but everytime I look at basses I just want to get one because they look so sick
BTB series are freaking amazing, regret getting rid of my 2009 BTB-575FM
I worked on a similar model also by ibanez not too long ago, yeah that thing was weird
BTBs just get better as time goes on, I remember pining after one in early 2000s. Got a Warwick Rockbass 5 instead and always regretted it, awful neck dive and sold it after about 12 months
I have this bass and it is awesome. It is heavy but sounds fantastic.
fully thought he was talking abt the ibanez half fretless for the first bit there
I have the BTB 605MS, it is so sick.
I love my BTB845. Beat the pants of all the American fender and music man basses I was trying to choose from, in pretty much every way. I’ve been gigging it regularly and recording for like 5 years and it’s never faltered.
I miss their old BTB6 strings, they made a fretless that just absolutely shreds. Unfortunately out of production for a while now.
You had me at zero fret
I thought he said “instructions reinforced by graphite” and really though the user Manuel on the back was somehow being held in place by graphite
The single cut is gorgeous but i prefer the double cut. Wish we saw more neck through body guitars
Rumor has it Tesla was shut down when he played one in his new York Lab.
I got the SRAS7-RSG, the rarest color, mint condition.

I have the harder model to find The BTB845SC-NTL (Ibanez really needs to fix their model names) I’ve owned guitars and bases from all price points (from a few hundred, to $5,000 custom shops) and various companies It’s the greatest instrument I’ve ever played. It’s perfect. Everything is right with it. Perfect out of the box. I had a 5 String, and I strung it to Jazz tuning (E-C) I wish there were guitars that good The BTB series needs a guitar equivalent
I play a BTB 6 without the single cut. Its just a great instrument for anything really
When I first saw that, I thought it was a guitar because of the amount of strings
PERFECT!
I used to want this more than anything when I was 13
Is that the Black Veil Brides logo on the headstock?
That “BTB” logo looks pretty close to the “BVB” logo
