Probably just to hide their close relationship with venti, otherwise barb and klee could suspect something. It's better for the bard to stay equally distanced ftom everyone in the eyes of most people. idk about klee but i can imagine barbara is at least not dumbfounded enough to not start suspecting something if the important people of mondstadt all exercise too much friendliness with someone who was supposed to be a bard who coincidentially happens to be able to call a dragon with his melodies (remember barbara doesnt even know about venti's role in dvailn incident yet, also there are a lot of coincidences and miracles in all of teyvat, so i understand why barbara has a hard time realizing much of a connection there)

@@nonachase1530 it's not that she doesn't believe in the gods, it's just that she has strong feelings of opposition towards their methods, particularly rex lapis. though we see in her character stories that she actually does hold reverence for rex lapis.. and to add, rex lapis actually used to descend physically into liyue for his yearly predictions or whatever so no you can't be an atheist if that's the case... mondstadt however is a different story since they barely see barbatos physically-- we see that in venti's story quest 'stanley' says something like "i've always believed you existed" so it's implied that there are some people who don't believe in barbatos' existence.. though i still think that they believe that gods in general do exist, just not barbatos per se. sorry this was long

At this point I want to think that Barbara actually picked up on Venti’s identity. She probably is looking all over the place for him but now Venti purposely avoids her because he doesn’t want to attract attention.

POV: Barbara always knew that Venti was barbatos so to seek for forgiveness she pulled out a great act.

There were so many things wrong with that cutscene it makes no sense. Venti having the lyre, Barbra hearing/saying Barbatos’ name and then completely forgetting it. What even, really wish we had a quest where she found out about Venti’s identity before this.

the Holy Lyre Der Himmel and Venti's personal instrument are two different lyres. the normal one he uses is documented in his character lore and is stated to be one he just created out of Anemo.

Considering that everyone with a vision has been summoning weapons and other stuff out of thin air, that's not a stretch.

Even after all venti has done, legends say that she never thanked venti for fixing his own lyre and letting them ride on his dragon.

He literally fixed the lyre and called a dragon right in front of her eyes, and she's still like, "Nope. Normal bard stuff."

I think its better if barbara doesnt know who i am- Coming from the god himself it would only be *disastrous* if the most devout nun found out her god is a drunkard who free loads 😶
