Disclaimer: A Hecate is better than a T1 destroyer because with tech 2 blasters you can bring down the haulers before their defense fleet warps in.
However, for beginner alpha pilots, a cheap Cormorant destroyer does the job, it's just a bit slower because you have to hunt down the haulers. The entire process from start to finish should take less than 30 minutes per hauler.
