EVE Online: Causality

Ойындар

You have entered a universe where the path to glory is paved by one's choices. Those choices do not come without consequence, and every action taken can carry one closer to their highest goals or drag them down to unimaginable depths. EVE Online's Summer 2010 trailer, "Causality," presents a scenario where each participant's decisions lead them to their respective destinations, for better or for worse.

I love Eve Online. Of course, it was confusing as Hek (pun intended), but that's why I love it. It presents challenges you would normally encounter in the real world (economics, politics, military strategy, corporate management, manufacturing, research, communications, corporate theft, manipulation, market scam, etc.). Right now, I'm an industrialist that can manufacture disposable ships that my alliance uses to go into battle against yours.

Actually, I just hmphed, checked my balance to see when I could afford to replace any lost head gear, got into another ship and tried something else. I have heard the folks you talk about in local, though, and sent them messages explaining the game and the real chances of payback if they were smart enough to listen. Some were, some weren't, but most of us care-bears know what's out there, we just also know we don't have the interest to become pvpers. So we learn to avoid ganks as much as possible and build you guys the ships and ammo you need to keep shooting. Kinda a messed up system, but oh well. I don't enjoy Farmville, I do enjoy internet spaceships, so that's the price you pay :)

This game is a ton of fun. Complicated but I love the risk reward aspect of it. In other games, if you die, you respawn in a safe area or go back to a checkpoint or have to sit out for a small amount of time. In EvE, dying is a huge deal. Scamming In-game is allowed making you have to watch your back all the time. It's do or die in EvE, so you better do. You owe it to yourself to try EvE, the tension and excitement of the game is amazing.

They then performed a virtual assassination on the target's CEO and proceeded to steal corporate property to which they had gained access. The target corporation lost billions of ISK..." Major events such as these happen in EVE from time to time, such as Burn Jita and Hulkaggedon which happened very recently.

@Fleabr , Depends honestly. Some have mangaed to turn over a corp/alliance in months or years, I would think it depends alot on your game play experiance. As well how good charater you have. ;), [ skill points have a say in how effective you can be. ] Some do it for ingame currency others for revenge or just fun. But.. starting from scratch and trying to accomplish something along those lines might take a while ;).

@Albiorix2 Thanks for the info. Im not sure if the "waiting for hours bit" is something for me I am more into quick paced combat. I love the whole idea of eve with the space setting and the complex economy if just the game had some more action, then I would play it day and night :(

indeed, one of the most famous stories is about the biggest alliance in the game being infiltrated and taken down ruthlessly. literally thousands of members lost all their stuff because of it

@warhawk9566 It's hard to explain it. It's an open-world, sandbox MMO where you control a ship. Movement is done through the interface. Most of the features within the game is player-driven. This video kinda shows you the consequences/benefits of your actions.

@Persason Combat is about making right decisions quickly rather than dexterity and precision with mouse. Game mechanics are complex enough to make that challenging and dynamic at times. In Eve you can loose (or destroy) a lot in pvp so it pumps more adrenaline than most games. Also, its more like real war than like real sports match - there are times when you spend hours of waiting or hunting and kill nothing, Battles are almost never balanced and its common to run or chase running enemies.
