They are supposed to be resetting the MCU after this next phase I wouldn't be surprised if considering how bad the last Ant-Man movie did 1. We don't get another Ant-Man movie and 2. Her character just quietly disappears

The best portrayal of the Wasp is still Collen O'Shaugnessy Wasp from Earth's Mightiest Heroes. At least she and Ant-Man are founding Avengers and actually names the team like in the comics in that show.

@kendi5391 no doubt. No offense to the MCU Avengers, but, aside from that one party scene in Age of Ultron, they all felt like close work friends rather than genuine friends with each other. EMH Avengers felt more genuine and close like the MCU Guardians and had more closer synergy, making when they split up because of Secret Invasion more heartbreaking than Civil War, which got more emotional and resonant after Tony found out about Winter Soldier killing his parents (seriously, Black Widow and Hawkeye were still being snarky towards each other despite being on different teams, and the genuine emotions was through Black Panther and Bucky).

@kendi5391 same thing with me. Aside from Black Panther hunting down Bucky and Captain America having to defend him, BP finding Zemo, the final fight between Tony, Cap, and Bucky and Spider-Man's MCU debut, it wasn't THAT serious as it could've been.

I just wish the best for her. She is a good actress and hope she will have a good retirement

It’s sad that she was sideline for the entire MCU and she never gets to truly shine as the wasp. I hope they don’t kill her offscreen.

This is the problem when you make the main focus on the secondary support character (Hope) rather than the main character (Janet) from the beginning.

I respect the actress and hope the best for her. As for the character, like doomblazer idrc since they kept changing her appearance in every movie, I wouldn't notice they changed her.

I don't think it's necessary to recast the character or kill him, they just have to say that the character is busy being the director of Pym Tech who doesn't have time to be Wasp. Better, because later if she wants to come back, she has the opportunity.

I dont know about the wasp part, but yeah it makes sense about her retiring, it seems very stressful and all so im glad she’s taking the time she needs to herself

Btw Wasp is always the one who wants to be a hero and be an Avenger while Hank Pym just wants to be a scientist and thinks of Ant Man as more of a responsibility towards safeguarding the world/universe and also the Pym particle technology. Then again this version of Wasp is very different considering that she’s basically an OC created by the MCU due to Scott basically needing a partner/mentor figure. This version of Wasp is a lot more serious. Honestly I think after secret wars they should give us younger versions of Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne.

She's one of my favorite actress and it's sad to hear that she's going to retired from acting but she deserves a break and do what she wants. I hope she'll return for Secret Wars as her last acting for the MCU.

My 1st movie with her was Real steel, didn't know she was the same actress as Wasp in ant man but ey she had a good run.

Kelly Marcel (director of the venom 3) also created TERRA NOVA. Anyone remember that show? It was pretty good.

This just made me remember how much of a more prominent and cool character Wasp was in other Avengers media. I completely forgot about all the other versions of the character, I just now think of her as Ant-Man's sidekick in the MCU who can fly, and who was barely in Quantumania despite her name being in the title. Hopefully she gets recast by someone younger with a more comic-accurate costume when the MCU reboots. But in the current MCU? I don't mind if they just say that Hope's given up the title of the Wasp, and is now fully working for her company, and now no longer wants to be invovled with superhero-ing.

A series called the multiverse saga is the perfect excuse for in canon reboots. There’re so many ways you can get around this without making a big deal out of it.

I really want to see a new Avengers with the original five: Ant-Man, Wasp, Iron Man (maybe a new version at least?) Hulk, and Thor.

My thoughts first of all I am glad that Evangeline Lilly is finding her peace and has chosen this decision all the best to her, secondly yeah they would just recast no? I never knew that Zooey Deschanel was going to be initially before her. I completely agree go with your original choices before her. Don't kill her off cuz you can do so much more with her that they didn't for Quantumania. At least let her have a finishing arc like Captain America or Iron Man

Usually actors will say they’ll retire, but return for their big current role, like Jim Carrey. She might still return to be Wasp, not guaranteed but not impossible. If not then just recast.
