This is why Amy is so amazing. I have never been in a situation like that, but she puts SOOO much emotion into her voice that I cry EVERY TIME I listen to this song. Never fails. My heart just breaks for people who feel like this.

I can relate to this song so much on a personal level. I used to cry to this song every night for a long time.. By no means am I expecting anyone to read this all lol, but I guess I just feel like writting this right now. Since before I could remember my father used to come in and out of my life when he felt like it, and would abandon me for 6 months- a year at a time. He always used to tell my mum to tell me that he was comming to get me, and I'd be sitting at the window from early in the morning till after sunset waiting for him. And when he was in my life he would tourcher me, and abuse me. I've never been the person to have any friends all my childhood either, but once I got to high school, I actually gained some very close friends; but they all ended up abandoning me in very hurtful ways. One of my male friends was badly abusive twords me, and would beat the shit out of me and threaten my life/threaten to rape me with knives (so when he left the school I was finally able to break free of that after 3 years). My other male friend who I became attatched to tried to convince me to commit suicide, knowing I was in a bad state in my depression, and abandoned me. My female friend (which I had been friends with for a long time), got angry with me because I was depressed and used me, then told me 'to go fuck myself and that she was done with me period'. My boyfriend who was abusive/narcissistic to me, constantly cheated on me, played with my head, manipulated me, used my pain from my past against me, and then tried to tell me to commit suicide, abandoned me in a very hurtful way. Oh and when I would call my boyfriend (who, mind you, I was planning on marrying, we both were planning on getting married soon and having kids) to tell him about my male friend that was abusing me, I would be sobbing over the phone begging for his help, but he would just laugh at me and say "Well, life sucks"; I closed off to everyone else about it after that since I was convinced no one cared about me at all, and just kept on being abused for a year. All of them abandoning me was all with 2 weeks/ on my birthday. My mother and I were at bad standings I guess for a while, so she wouldn't really interact with me. *I hadn't seen my father for 4 years at this point, because my mother thankfully seperated him from me after finding proof that he was grooming me, and was not only ofc very abusive to me, but also a pedophile twords me as well.* And for 6 months I spent my life in complete solitude, no human touch or interaction At All.. Which, long periods of that actually deteriorates your mind. But I remember just wanting to go up to my mother, to anyone on the street and started begging and sobbing for them just to hug me, just to say something to me, let me know that I was still alive and not some ghost. But 6 months went by, and though that was 2 years ago, it still badly affects me and my ability to give affection. I still suffer from depression and loneliness, and I still play this song every so often and feel so much more pain flood back into my chest..
