To me, the lyrics make it sound like she's grown stronger and more resistant, yet she's still coping with her trauma. The bridge shows she still repeats the words of her abuser to herself, and the chorus sounds like she's reflecting on the awful truth about their relationship. The thought is emphasized by the music, since the bridge sounds like it's going to crescendo into this epic drop, yet the chorus subverts this with a somber and painful melody that really gets the point across that, even though she's moved on, she's still deeply hurt by this person. A clever remix that follows up and builds on the story of the first song.

She fought back the fallen angel and took her power back!!!! This song completes the story

In High School I looked up every Evanescence song...and I never came across this one...huh.

​@@ginociambotti9256actually imagine a woman and a man falling in love with all the odds against them the man is a helpless romantic but not a man who knew love because he was orphaned for instance this person will not be in the presence of love to know a loving couple we can all see a romantic relationship on tv or a movie but love is a comfort bond that children make even more important right? Say you're the 2nd child of this road to nowhere the man speaks from his heart promising a moment of overcoming the odds but as the 2nd child is born the woman is more concerned it's become a matter of life and death with the children have become more important than romance which is an exaggeration of longing to love but most people courted their interest so it was a growing process that becomes uncontrollable to keep suppressed love is being on a plan and direction to make it work it's undesirable it's having to sacrifice a romantic date to keep the spark alive to keep the goal in site it's having irritation of the other and saying things you can't take back it's not having that imagination of love where you wish you could have moments last forever and other's be forgotten it's mundane consistency but who else can you trust in life when everyone is wicked and intriguing to betray the only person you have built up with might not seem like much but from nothing to something is hard to understand. Being conceived in love is knowing struggle and sacrifice I was the middle child my father named me after his brother my oldest brother named after him he redeemed my father's name I inherited his spirit I guess and don't have the heart to love as my brother's the oldest being the strongest has to be twice the man for all of us my younger brother is a man born to do the best he can and is doing well me I take the curses happily because I will carry the sins of everyone gladly and break them all if God allows me knowing where I stand it doesn't bother me anymore. I look at all the demons and devil's eye to eye and to the sinners I have come to die with you.

My wife passed away five years ago an is my angel from heaven !! She gave me greatest gift in life 2 beautiful sons , who i have been raising alone !! Amy Lee is an amazing wonderful woman an is my angel !! Amy Lee has helped me through an inspires me an keeps me strong lets me know im not alone !! She has best voice of all time with all that emotion an power sends chills !! Its crazy after all theses years they're still badass as ever

The Cocktail Critic They recorded this for Fallen, this is a pre release version of Everybody's Fool actually, and it was after Origin. That gives away the fact that Everybody's Fool evolved from Lies.

MisterMistyEye Wait that doesn't make sense what you just said. Lies was recorded in Little Rock for Origin, which was the demo sold at their shows. It was after Origin they recorded demos in a different state, I believe Nashville, to get a record deal, and then when they got a record deal they moved to LA to record Fallen. If Origin was also used to send to record companies that I am not sure of. But I don;t see how this has anything to do with Everybody's Fool or how the timeline you said make sense.

The Cocktail Critic the chorus has the same exact rhythm as the everybody's fool chorus. And it has the exact same message in both choruses. I think lies was the first version of everybody's fool.
