So Evan is trying to say that he has feelings for Avril but in September of 2004, he left to pursue his own music career and he had feelings for Avril, but it is to late and this song is Evan saying that he misses Avril and he wishes he never left and about all the good times they had together and how they miss each other. I remember hearing the original version of this song years and years ago and just KNOWING he'd written it for Avril (I mean, everyone knew, come on, he might as well have just called the song "my song for Avril" :P). I never, ever thought they'd perform it together, I cried so much when they did, and then they recorded it together and just, woah. It gives me hope that they'll get back together some day, they were the best couple ever. I love them both so much, I missed Evan!

This song is better as a duet than it is as a solo

September 2004: Or someone discovered the relationship and they had to break up or Deryck proposed Avril in married and she acccepted because she in love with him (and with Evan too). Evan break up with Avril and letf the band. 2006: Avril and Deryck get married, Evan don't go to the wendding and write the song "The World Keeps Turning" talking about a wendding and talking that he not happy with it. 2009: Avril and Deryck get divorced. End of 2010: They (Avril and Evan) date in secret. It was perfect, it was working but all the problems start to growing then they had to break up (again) and he write this song ("The Best Years Of Our Lifes") and "Boy Meets Girl", she write "Rebember When" and "Hush Hush" (Yeah, but the song go to be released in the next album). Present Day (2017): She's working in a new album and (for now) she's writing two songs: "Warrior" and "Crushed". This teory it's CRAZY! I KNOW! But it's just for make the fans that like the shipp (like me) beeing happy. #EvanAvril
