Everybody plays "Stormy Monday". Nobody's ever sang it like that. And I doubt anybody ever will again.

This blues singer also sang pop, folk, country, jazz, and rock. She is the most eclectic and overlooked talent in music history. For many of her fans, including this one, she is far and away the most complete vocalist who ever lived. She was able to sing authentically in every genre because she loved ALL types of music and had more colors and textures to her voice than anyone else. What a gift she was. And what a loss.

Better than anything you'll hear on the radio today. Just amazing.

This concert was, alas one of her last. The chemotherapies had already marked this beautiful lady 33 years old. I was at Blues Alley some 10 years ago, I can imagine what was the mood on this day. RIP Eva

Jesus...some "new" Eva! Watched pretty much all of her videos a few years back, but this is a revelation. Perfect phrasing and attitude. Blues queen. Falling in love all over again.

That's the blues, right there, but alas life is so fleeting, but at least with Eva she gave us a glimpse of the divine.

It just blows my mind that music executives didn’t get it. THIS is just so amazing! Magical gifts one and all. As a veteran trained musician and listener I can clearly see that Eva was truly touched by God and her boys loved her so very deeply. It’s just phenomenal how this little gig in the massive world of music rises up to be the greatest moment ever put on tape. Ever! I would give all of my money to have been there sitting in her presence. To play with her. To listen to her. Gifts from heaven to those involved that should be cherished forever. Wow! Just an amazing time. The greatest moments in life are often short and generally few. This is one of those moments. Very special. Thank you Eva! Thank you fellas! Thank you so much. 🎺

Proof of God I suppose - never heard such purity and power - and taken from the world so soon.. can you imagine if she walked onto the set of American Idol - they would have closed down the show - you just can't get any better... listen to her recordings like "Fever" ... etc... amazing...

I just can’t think of any words that truly express how amazing Eva is. All I have is thank you Eva for allowing me to hear your beauty. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

By far, Eva is one of my most favourite artists, everything that comes out of her is TOP SHELF, gone too soon. Wish record companies promoted her, they sometimes have no idea of what talent is, this lady is the meaning of talent.

Eva Cassidy is one of the most amazing voice I’ve ever heard : She sang the blues like a black woman ! And her band perfectly emphasized her voice. Thanks for sharing this with us.

I absolutely love her voice and adaptations. I can't believe I discovered her 25 years after her passing. What talent!

I don't know any other artist that had the effect on me that Eva Cassidy had in that she is the only one I ever heard I still remember where I was and what I was doing when I listened to her voice. It was 2002. I was living in Chicagoland and getting back from work on the train. I got in my car to drive home and they were doing a spot on NPR about her. As soon as I could I went out and bought a CD. I must have just missed the part of that NPR spot that talked about the fact she had died of cancer because I was devastated to find that out when I tried looking up any possible tour dates. Just an amazing singer and musician.

My first thought upon hearing Eva Cassidy sing "A Change Is Gonna Come" was, "I don't think you have the voice for this song." It didn't take long to realise I was wrong. When Eva covers a song, it's as though you are hearing that song for the very first time...

Well, Bobby “Blue” Bland had the definitive version for a long time-Greg Allman’s version was my personal favorite. Then comes Eva! Wow!

Wow very nice, for me one of her best songs, fields of gold for me on number 1 but this one very close after that. To bad she is no longer along with us, very talented singer!

I went many times out to Nashville and saw how many incredibly talented musicians/songwriters are out there, as fast order cooks or waitresses, or gas station attendants. Then I hear what comes out of Nashville from the music execs. Greed does not give one a good ear apparently, and no happy hallmark ending
