Appreciate your breakdown, I ended up buying a new Bolt EV a few weeks ago

I just bought my 2020 Bolt from the Paola KS Chevy dealership you mentioned. They were very helpful. The buying process took 2 days, and it's going to arrive at my house 2 states away in less than a week. Thanks for your helpful info!

Nicely done! Getting the tax credit, new or used, at the time of purchase is huge. However, I'm not sure how many dealerships are going to sign up for the program. I've noticed a couple of dealerships near me that are already reflecting the tax credit in the final price but another dealer lists it as a "potential tax credit" but does not reflect that in the sales price. The other issue is for chevy dealerships is they may not bother because they simply won't have any EVs for sale once they run out of Bolts and Bolt EUVs. GM ended Bolt production and their other EVs are trickling out so slowly (including a stop sale on Blazer EV) that it may not be worth their time. Nice job on the details of the tax credits!

Just another item for the dealership to swindle from you. I remember when they lowered the msrp on my Bolt by like $5,900 and the dealership turned around and said take it or leave it while charging me a “green car package” for exactly the same amount, this was after I had waited like 4 months for the order…I ended up buying the 2LT EV for the original msrp price at ~$36,500. At least I love the car and got a 3.59% interest rate. Good luck and be very willing to walk away, I was not.

Missed out on a 2020 Hyundai Kona EV for under $20K, low miles, SEL.

Yep

so the 4000 dollar government program that the car lot got me was the tax credit. it works for us we needed a car quick and I didn't have a downpayment. do you know anything about battery replacement if anything goes wrong. sales guy told us after we signed the papers if ever we have a problem with the battery to bring it back in, that the government will pay to replace it at no charge to us. not sure, and sofar love my bolt. I lovingly call it my power wheel.
