    You had such a hard choice on Saturday. This would have done very well as well, But Ulrikke was my winner. Shame other countries can't bid for other songs to represent them if they don't get chosen by their country. That would make things interesting.

    First of all Ann Sophie has not the same raspy voice that Kristin has, that's what gives "Pray for me" character, and gives the song a mysterious feeling and at the same time the song showes of her vocal tehnique. 2nd The same thing was said about Keiino last year. That they would floop becuase Spirit in the sky reminded people of Monsters by Saara Aalto, which got a low result in 2018.....Spirit in the sky did not floop, 7th. You never know how people are going to vote,...There are so many variables that can influence who wins etc.

    @@donkey1512 My point is we can't compare how one song will do in ESC based on another song's result. No one knows, that's what makes ESC exciting.

    Ann Sophie had a disadvantage that her director decided she should spend half the performance with her back to the audience. Not her fault. 2015 was a very tough year too. I do hope Eurovision audiences respect women with darker, lower voices. The competition is the less if not.

    Probably my favorite thus far. I think it's different in a good way from what we usually hear in Eurovision. Honestly, Raylee, Alexander Rein and Kristin Husøy are all excellent picks. I just hope Raylee doesn't win. I think there's a legit risk of Norway being disqualified from ESC if they do. It's VERY similar to Cyprus entry last year, Replay. But hey, when was the last time someone was disqualified for copying another song anyway? So that would probably slip through anyway. But for that sake, I hope it doesn't win.

  • @Marios_Gr

    Raylee is the most possible to get a good result in Rotterdam, thought. The shocking thing is the low level of the direct qualifiers.

  • @Joahak13

    @Joahak13

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@Marios_Gr I agree. It would make more sense if the juries picks would still compete, but be qualified for that semi-finals final round. So you'd have a Quarterfinal, it would look like the first rounds now. Then the two winning in each quarterfinal would face of in a semi-final. The winner of that duel would compete against the juries preselected entry. that way, the people still gets to decide in the end who is going to the grand final. I really dislike that a jury should be involved in the selection of the artist, it's even worse in some other countries where the entire act is just selected by a jury (we have a lot of preselected entries this year.) The only good act to come out from something like that was Arcade from last year. But that is also, probably, the only exception. I mean, the worst part about Melodifestivalen, for example, is that a jury (an international one nonetheless) gets to say their opinion. This has effectively made it impossible for swedish acts to win, because the international jury tends to vote for acts in english.

    There is no such thing as plagiarism in “Wild”. If that would be the case, this song wouldn’t receive that much appreciation and hype. I don’t see any actual similarity between Raylee’s song and Tamta’s “Replay”. I can see similarities between “Wild” and Bella Santiago’s “Army of Love” tho. Then again these 2 songs have different messages and their structures tend to differ. “Wild” kinda hides this human empowerement message, while it adds those specific “savage” sounds and animals. To me Raylee’s song is actually really well made as I can sense the connections that I mentioned. I just don’t understand how this can be similar to “Replay” or “Fuego”, which lacked that strong message imo. Nonetheless, I still loved Fuego and the live performance in the final is one of my favourite in the ESC history.

    @@_o..o_1871 I think the drop is very similar. Its just more lowkey in Wild, but i feel its very similar. Either way, if Sweden should be trashed for sending generic pop songs, this should be trashed for being like Cyprus last two entries. It's a very distinct type of music.

  • @_o..o_1871

    Joakim Håkansson I mean Sweden deserves its hate. They (/you guys) only send pop songs sang by male for years and years. And when there was the chance to send something that would’ve been very interesting and would’ve definitely impressed in a rather boring ESC edition (2017)..Loreen was eliminated before the final. Norway on the other hand has sent extremely diverse stuff and “Wild” is also something new for them. I hope Raylee wins (unless something in the semi 5 would stand out and impress me, but I doubt it)

    No, that's too easy. I'm from the eastern region, but the other side of the fjord. I feel no loyalty to Ulrikke because of her home/origins, it's far away and not similar to my county at all. I only voted for her because I liked the song over the others (each step of the way).
