European Grand Prix For Choral Singing is the most prestigious choral competition in the world and sometimes labeled as "Olympics For Choral Singing". This video summarizes the Top Five Choirs In the World that won the most awards at the European Grand Prix For Choral Singing.
The European Grand Prix for Choral Singing (in French, Grand Prix Européen de Chant Choral, generally abbreviated as GPE) is an annual choral competition that pits the winners of six European choral competitions against one another. It first opened its doors in 1989.
Despite its name, the GPE is not limited to European choirs. Choirs from other countries are welcome to compete in any of the GPE's member cities' choral competitions.
Since 1995, one chorus from Japan, one from Argentina, one from Indonesia, and two from the United States have won the GPE, with two choirs from the Philippines and the United States winning the GPE twice. Furthermore, the competition is open to choirs of all ages; three of the grand prize-winning choruses are children's choirs.
The Philippine Madrigal Singers (1997 and 2007), APZ Tone Tomsic (2002 and 2008), Youth choir "Kamr..." (2004 and 2013), University of Utah Chamber Choir (renamed from the University of Utah Singers) (2006 and 2015), and Vesna Children's Choir have all won the EGP twice as of 2018. (2000 and 2017).
And in the summer of 2019, the youth choir "Kamr..." became the first and only choir in history to win the EGP three times (2004, 2013 and 2019).

The Philippine Madrigal Singers that performed in 2007 was the best for me. Heavenly voices indeed. The repertoire they prepared was just perfect. I've listened to their other years of their EGP performances but that year was the best I've heard of them. It was perfection. Up to now I would listen to that year's performance every now and then. They could go for #1 if they could repeat this stellar performance anew.

No other choir that I’ve seen who performed the same way as the Madz. What they did is really amazing. Hitting those high notes while sitting is un believable! Not to mention they perform with choreograph. The best choir ever!

It is their first EGP despite the many attempts.. hoping they get another one moving forward…
People in our country are naturaly born singers coz bfre birth mothers already sings for there child inthe womb..thats why even bfore birth a child is already trained by the sounds emotions of the mother to his/her child💗🙏🇵🇭
When singing different songs and choir members vary in number and gender, it becomes more difficult to judge this competition.

Of course we love the Madz! Kamer won the GPE 3x as to the Madz 2. Both are more than impressive though!
The last winner of EGP 2022 is Batavia Madrigal Singer of indonesia
#1 was only based on the # of awards it got mostly in national competitions. Madrigal Singers should be #1 based on the quality; blending of voices, heavenly, arrangements, etc....
I dare all the other choirs to perform Randall Stroope's Riveder le Estelle better than the Philippine Madrigals' version and claim the top spot as the best choir in the world.

Nagkakaedad na ang mga current members ng Madz, Talo sila noong 2017 sa EGP, marami nang bagong choir na magagaling ngayin na mas bata ang mga members. Siguro, Noon kapanahunan niyo, couple of decades ago ay magaling noon ang Madz.

UP Ambassador ( Bro Ed Manguiat, Conductor) has garnered a lot of international awards however, they did not win yet in the EGP. The only choir in Asia and Philippines who won 2x in the EGP is the Philippine Madrigal Singers. EGP is the most prestigious choral competition ( choral olympics, others say)in the world.

Has anyone checked the awards and competitions Madz has received? In the Philippines, the group does not join any national competition since it is obvious that the group will easily win. Internationally, the group picks the competitions the join as I honestly believe the group wants other choirs to win. Am I biased for stating the obvious? LOL

It's not that they want other choirs to win. It won't be helping their reputation if they win a so-so competition now. Imagine Lea Salong competing It's Showtime's Tawag ng Tanghalan.

They are always fully booked and they only joins on the most prestigious and highest level of choir competition. Many Filipino Choir have won International Competitions so Even if Madz is the highest standard in the Philippines, some Filipino choirs will put up a good fight if they go head to head against Madz.
