These people need to stay in their own country, and hold their government accountable. These people are not citizens of Europe.

How desperate must these people be to make such a dangerous crossing. It’s sad to see and it’s sad that these countries cannot or will not support their own people. Europe no longer has the infrastructure to take in this huge number of immigrants. It’s insane. Something needs to be done.

Does anyone have sympathy for these people? If so, how long will it last? They spend so much effort coming to Europe and changing the society there, why don't they just do it at home? I really can't see a good end to all of this.

But the vast majority of migrants are men coming from countries that are perfectly fine, they just know if they can make it to Europe they will get free food, money and housing. So instead of making their home a better place for themselves and their family they leave and instead make Europe into the same exact "hell" they fled from. They aren't helping themselves and are hurting others.

These are desperate people.The more, conflict, food source problems, climate extreme, the more these people will try to find ways of escaping it. Shaking our heads isn't going to stop this turning into a tidal wave of humanity. Worse is to come.

Heartbreaking..Good on Nick!!..what a hero..And the fantastic team.

My question is if they are “humanitarians” why don’t they provide help; water, food and medical if needed and take them back to shore. But if I’m not mistaken they are taking them to Italy or Malta right? So aren’t they actually helping the smugglers get them from point A to point B? I watched another documentary and clearly the Italian immigration pointed out that one of the migrants was the smuggler that had been caught in the same “rescue” mission 3 times and said he comes with your help, collects the money and leaves! And the answer the mission lady gave was “ well someone has to guide them” WTAF? That’s helping to smuggle people into Europe!

I agree. The same thing is happening here in the USA. No country can sustain millions and millions of people from every corner of the world floating the country. America gives billions of dollars to all these countries every year and their corrupted politicians steal the money. That money comes out of tax payers pockets. Governments don't have money - The money they give away is not theirs.

So much respect for those who risk their lives to help others in need.. I'm so saddened that ppl have to try to escape where they are from just to make a better life.. heartbreaking 💔

This reporter is awful and is gaslighting! He says, "After all we are just people saving people". What an *ss!!!! He is wrong! THOSE PEOPLE ON THE RESCUE SHIPS ARE HEROES (!), not just people! What an idiot reporter! If it wasnt for the rescuers, many immigrants wouldnt stand a chance, many more would perish! These rescuers dont HAVE to do this. They CHOOSE to because they are wonderful loving people. And those rescuers can die too! Plus they can also suffer long term PTSD from all the awful things they witness and the emotionally/psychologically turmoil they have to endure and go through, as well.
