This is VDNH, the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy of the USSR. I got lost there a long time ago as a teenager.) All the time I was circling around the cosmonautics pavilion. And in that pavilion the Japanese delegation asked me to make a video of the docking of the ships. That was the first time I saw Sony's Video8 mini format. It had just appeared at that time.

my little town just has a tree in the bandstand but nothing else. in 2018 we would have had nothing but the business owners all chipped in for some lights and the forestry commission donated a very sad bald looking tree.

Actually this place was in ruins in 90s- mid 00s. Our current major, Sergey Sobianin, rebuild and restored this place(and many others) in original beauty. Moscovites really thankful for this

Russel, Cosmos pavillion is not a back section. There is a large pond and several more pavillions behind it, and a big botanic garden and park also. ) So you could walk there couple more hours.

And there is a great training zone for water ski jamps and a famous "Golden spica" fontain. Plus there was just made aerial ecotrail and a rope-park. We, who live nearby VDNH prefer that far part of it in fact))

Москвичи совершенно не понимают в каком выдающемся месте они живут. Им кажется, что такие катки есть везде в Европе и наверняка побольше. Им кажется, что везде такое огромное, чистое и великолепное метро. Им кажется , что Кремль это как везде, что такси приезжает в течение 3 минут везде, что в воскресенье можно пойти в магазин везде. И ещё они жалуются, что в Москве всё очень плохо. Вот такой парадокс.

15:15 This is not an last part of VDNH. The last part is behind the Golden Spike fountain. And another large part - southwest from this point, is the Ostankino Park, which is now part of VDNH. There are mainly forest, its can be seen on the map)

Right, I've walked back there a few times in day light hours. I will get back there for another video at some point, i've even see them water skiing on the lake with the golden spike.

@@nelly3300 ХОЧУ!! У нас много лет были теплые зимы с температурой от -5 до +5. В такую погоду на улицах грязная каша. Только последние три года снежные зимы ( включая этот год). Я думаю что лучше снег и морозы , чем ледяной дождь и грязь.

That is actually where my wife and I purchased our roller blade skates - about 20 years ago, when there were a lot of little retail shops everywhere. Don't remember us going during the winter, so this is interesting to see.

It's very nice to see Moscow 😍 how beautiful it is! I was in this park a lot of times including winter, but I've never seen the flowers decorations. That's something new. Hope, I'll have a chance to see them this winter, and I want to slide! I was at this ice rink a few years ago, it was the beginning of January and crazy cold like -30°C. That was something. I miss Moscow when I watch such videos. Thanks, Russell, for your work

It's the largest ice rink in Europe but not in the whole of Russia. The longest ice rink in the world is in Novosibirsk right now.
