Queen Elizabeth II would have eventually become Queen. If her Uncle remained King and died without children, his brother would have become King if he were alive. Since he wasn’t it would have passed into Elizabeth. Duke of Windsor died in 1972.

Agree with you that King Felipe and Queen Letizia have inherited a very 'shaky' throne. But, I believe Princess Leonor is not all about the Palace's PR campaign. She's such a public darling and high achiever in her own right. If you watch her closely, Princess Leonor is very natural and spontaneous. Always kind and friendly to people around her (see her adorable interaction with her cadet friends--they really look out for her--very genuine). Never seen her drinking or partying like other teenagers, always hard-working and of course, being incredibly beautiful also helps. No wonder there's Leonor Mania going in SP.

Princess Leonor is such a beauty and seems very responsible and disciplined. I think she is aware of the threat against the Royal Family which is why she is doing her part responsibly. Politics in Spain right now is very intense. Their speeches seems to have double meaning. When the Prime Minister talked during the Princess' birthday and oath taking ceremony, there seems to be a tense aura seen from the Princess and defensive aura from the King. And the King's speech implies about preserving and following the constitution of a united Spain. (considering how the Prime Minister backs the amnesty towards the Catalan separatists). Princess Leonor needs to really prepare herself since she got a lot on her shoulders but she does really seem to be aware of that. You're right it's startling when you see how Harry & Meghan acts in comparison to a very young royal.

Queen Fabiola of Belgium had many pregnancies, but sadly they resulted in miscarriages; after her husband King Baudouin I died, the family showed support and helped her right up until the day she died. The thing that stood out when I read about the royal women who married Kings and Princes, is that she was from Spain; she learned Dutch AND French; and in that regard she was always being compared to Queen Paola; because even though Paola learned to speak French...she vehemently refused to learn Dutch. Thank you for another video. 💙💙💙

After her marriage to Leopold in November 1926, she assumed the title Duchess of Brabant. As in for every George VI you get an Edward VIII, every Elizabeth II you get a Margaret, for every Charles you get an Andrew, and with every William you get a Harry. God I hope and pray that won't be the case with George and Louis because of their very stable loving family home with The Prince & Princess of Wales.

As for Belgium it's not just our royal family that has an unsure future but in fact the whole country. We're a deeply divided country that's been growing apart for decades. King Baudouin was very beloved but King Albert II made some 'mistakes'. He never expected to be king so had a pretty 'wild' youth. He was the spare that ultimately became king. King Phillippe is actually well liked. He and his wife are quite low-key and a bit old fashioned. I'm curious to see how Elisabeth turns out.

I know people who couldn't visit their dying parents in the hospital during Covid. Also, I couldn't see my children and granddaughter who live in a different country during Covid. So I understand how the behavior of the Dutch royalty would anger people. Pride goeth before a fall. Just thinking of the indelible image of the late Queen Elizabeth sitting alone during Prince Philip's funeral reminds me of the importance of royals setting a good example. To me that is true royal behavior, which far surpasses wearing tiaras and unveiling plaques.

Ingrid Alexandra will definitely need to step up her royal engagements bc you don’t really see the RF much anymore. The King’s health is declining and he has difficulty walking. The queen, while healthy, is in her mid 80’s. Princess Marthe Louise is now living in L.A. with her shaman. Mettle-Marit is rarely seen due to her health issues, leaving just the Crown Prince and their daughter (possibly) to carry out royal duties. The Norwegians tend to like their RF but they still need to be seen.

For The Duchess of Brabant, her name correctly pronounced would be "Elee-zah-bett". Also, Leonor, Catharina-Amalia, and Elisabeth will inherit their country's thrones directly some day, whereas Ingrid-Alexandra and Christian still have their fathers to be kings first. It puts more pressure on the former three than on the latter two right now.

To compare Meghan Markle to Princess Leonor is ridiculous. Princess Leonor like Prince William was raised and groomed to be a Regent. Meghan was raised an American wannabe actress. We are no longer in medieval times when a king divorces his much-loved wife over lack of an heir. Belgium is interesting in that an illegitimate child can sue for and receive HRH status. In Monaco, Prince Albert has two out-of-wedlock children and neither of them have a legal role or rights, although they are known. And in fact, they still have the antiquated rule in which a younger brother trumps an elder sister. In the UK, an illegitimate child of a monarch or heir apparent would have no succession rights either.

Wonderful, informative video Brittany. It's lovely to highlight the future monarchs of Europe and provide an insight that royalty is not just British, although I love that too. I think it's tough being a young heir in the modern media driven world. You touched on how this impacts their lives. I will watch them from afar, hoping they do not become ensnared in anything unpleasant or dangerous.

One also has to take into account, that Prince Henrik of Denmark was diagnosed with dementia not long before his death, which does explain his weird behaviour in the years leading up to this. That degradation of the brain can change you.

Queen Isabella ii actual reign was from 1833 -1868. She became Queen when she was three years old. And I think she was forced to abdicate. Her husband the Duke of Cadiz was her double first cousin.

She had a lot of problema: they didn't give her a proper educación in any sense, her mother was a piece of work (exactly as her father, who was even worse, a traitor twice at least), and she was forced to married her first cousin, Francisco, more know inside the family as "Paquita". He was gay and he can't hide it perfecto, but they built a friendly relationship and he gave to her children the Borbón surname. But when she has a girl as the heir, Princess Isabel, she try to gave her a way better education. Princess Isabel were the heir twice, during 13 years untill the birth of Alfonso XII, and when he lost his first wife and wont got married again. She was the only one who could convince him and she helps to picked the new one... And she chose cleverly. The history of Princess/Infanta Isabel, well knonwn by the people as La Chata (The Short), it's very interesting. I think that our History could be very different if she could claim the throne.

Baudouin and Fabiola's story is so sad - she miscarried 5 times. So it certainly wasn't for a lack of trying, but they weren't able to have children, and I don't think devout Catholics use IVF or if was even available back then. But that's why Albert II became king.

Loved the video. They all seem like lovely young people. There's going to be so many queens, it''ll be amazing! Question. Theoretically, if two heirs to thrones did get married, what would happen? Would one have to give up their claim? Would both? Or could it somehow work out? Just curious. :)

It's an interesting question, as there are definitely dynastic implications. I would imagine that it would be simplest if one person gave up their claim to the throne, but it's also possible to perhaps briefly unite two kingdoms, especially those with historic connections like Denmark and Norway. That could potentially work, though they would have to split the time between the two kingdoms. Thanks for watching!!

  • @dorisschneider-coutandin9965

In case of Norway and Denmark one could see the slight possibility of uniting the kingdoms and have a joined reign over them. All else seems more than far-fetched and will most likely not happen anyway. What could happen, though, is that for example Princess Estelle will fall in love with - let's say - Prince Emmanuel of Belgium. No big deal, as he is "only" third in line to the Belgian throne, and can easily hop over to Sweden to become Prince Consort of a future Queen Estelle. Btw, I've heard that the most eligible royal of marriageable age right now is Maria-Olympia of Greece. Her wedding will perhaps be the next big royal one to watch.

QEIi still would have become queen since the king if he didn’t advocate and Wallis wouldn’t have had children so it would have passed down to her anyway!

  • @nicolamarchbank1846
    @nicolamarchbank18468 ай бұрын

PS - the Queen of Denmark's father was Frederik IX, her GRANDfather was Christian X (whose brother was the first king of independent Norway Haakon VII) and she counted herself as the Christian in the order when she chose to name her first son after her father when the now Crown Prince was born in 1968. It means that there will only be one numeral difference instead of two now, with the next Danish kings being Frederik X and Christian XI. Had she been male, she would have been Christian XI and so Prince Christian would be number XII and they might not have felt the need to change the constitution when they did to allow female succession, potentially leaving that until much later given she had two sons. Bit of alternate history there....

King Albert did not abdicate because of a scandal. He abdicated to make way for his son who was ready. On July 3, 2013, King Albert II announced his abdication with these words: “I note that my age and my health no longer allow me to exercise my function as I would like. It would be failing in my duties and in my conception of the royal function to want to keep myself in office at all costs." We, Belgians, are very proud of Princess Elisabeth. She is extremely intelligent, she accumulates diplomas, she is completing a long course in the army. She has a natural ease and kindness. She doesn't take herself seriously at all and she is a very balanced young woman who grew up surrounded by a lot of love.

A few comparisons I looked up for context of the photo that's supposedly "Meghan and Harry with their kids." First of all, the average height of a human head is 18-20cm. Secondly, the heels would add about 8cm. First of all, the late Queen was 1.63m and with the heels Meghan was taller (example: the "white" dress which looks like a mummy according to Beebs Kelly in one of her video) shows Meghan towering where the top of the Queen's hat reaching her shoulder and that's kind of what is going on in the photo. And apparently Meghan is 1.68m so Harry is 1.86m so based on the head height average, the height of Meghan should be 1.66 to 1.68m. She should reach the nape of his neck, and not as the photo shows "barely reaching it with the hat." The math don't lie... 1.68m plus 15 cm from "six inch heels would 1.83m. Then why is she half head height with the heels and and below the shoulder without??? Queen Camilla is 1.65m and she stands almost at the same height with Meghan who is 1.68m. Princess Catherine is 1.75m and Prince William is 1.91m and with her six inch heels in she's not reaching William shoulders in this photo: wwd.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/GettyImages-1422556859.jpg Here's a good comparison between the three Queens (past, present and future): i.insider.com/5fd1404f240ebd00126be0f0?width=1000&format=jpeg&auto=webp (Catherine with shoes is at 1.83m, Camilla with her shoes at about 1.68cm and the late Queen with her shoes at about 1.66m and using the hat to give off the illusion of being taller). All this was researched on Google btw. No, I have not got a shoe fetish. 🤣 Also, nothing here is said in defense of Meghan and Harry.

Not to include Sweden or the UK like you did this time, because the heirs are older and so the spares are nowhere near them in age. Just take the same countries you took this time.
