I love to think about how we had made up brands at release because the licenses couldnt be afforded and now we get new trucks in co-operation with the brands on their irl release dates. very impressive.

I was a sworn Majestic driver until the very end! Really great to see where they are at now. I remember them saying how awkward it used to be when they went up to brands early on. "So yeah, we already have your truck in the game but it has like... a funny badge."

I know right? I remember seeing the first teaser of ETS 1 . I went crazy when I saw the Scania steering wheel with the actual logo on it. OFC on release it wasn't there anymore, but even so, coming from Haulin' with mods it was indeed something fresh and long awaited and now this. Gave it a run in VR yesterday and although I was kinda skeptic about the cameras for mirrors I gotta say, they are waaay more comfortable than the real mirrors.

Wasn't it also because some of the brands did not want to appear in a "video game", or am I mistaken? Great story anyway, for those of us who started with ETS 1, it's so good to see what SCS managed to build over the years. Happy for them and the community!

i thought those mirror camera's would take a bit of testing but nope comes right with the truck on release...

We went from seeing a DAV, to seeing a brand new DAF before we see it in real life, that just gives you to show what kind of respect SCS has right now. Fantastic job!

A great truck, thank you very much, SCS! Only one thing bothers the blinking. If you blink, the daytime running lights come on from time to time, this should stay off until you stop blinking. If you switch on the hazard warning lights, the daytime running lights stay off, but only with the hazard warning lights

Congrats to the artist(s) who model/integrate this truck, it's beautiful work!!

Ok, on first glance, I really like this truck. The 3D modeling is as detailed as ever, as you would expect. The screen mirrors are interesting and a nice breath of fresh air. I was however surprised that there are no axle options. So my first thought was that the new DAF isn't built with more than two axles in real life, but after checking their website, there are product shots of a model with a midlift axle, so why don't we have it in ETS2? But again, I really like this truck, it looks great in real life and the game version captures it with high levels of detail. Edit: nevermind, I checked the SCS Blog, the irl truck will only come with a 4x2 for now, so the game version does as well. Let's hope we get more axle options along with the release of the XF model.

Honestly the best truck I've ever laid eyes on.

Holy moly didn't even notice it didn't have mirrors, but cameras, until it showed the interiors.

@@kornaros96 Yes. Especially since Scania from 2016 and Volvo from 2012 have shown innovative designs. But it's sad that each brand's individuality is disappearing and all truck designs are becoming similar...

Thank goodness. I've always wanted to use the DAF since they're assembled where I am in North West England but could not get on with the 3 wipers on the older model at all

The Scania S is modern. Yes it was released in reality in 2016 but it is very modern still and so is DAF XF 2017
