Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of Mazda MX-30 2020
Update 2023: The MAZDA MX-30 PHEV is a variant of the MX-30. Some additional tests and checks have been done to ensure that the rating of the MX-30, tested in 2020, applies to the Plug-in Hybrid variant.
Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
- a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h
- a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier
- a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
- a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole and the robustness of the centre airbag is evaluated.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

In spite of the unique free doors, MX-30 has shown splendid results as other world leading cars.
The news euroncap videos are very good ! The tests also. Great job ! And congratulations Mazda for this results 😍
I love the middle airbag.
Finally you're doing multiple crash tests for November. Next month, I expect results for the new Hyundai i10 and new Audi A3.

Why does this comment come out at every Euroncap video? They’ve already explained why they don’t do it: the percentage of crashes with a small overlap is very low in Europe.

@@edipires15 That's too bad. The IIHS tests are much tougher than the EuroNCAP, that's why I take the IIHS more seriously than the EuroNCAP.

What do you mean? They've tested for that before, but most cars don't have that feature
Why bother using a moving barrier? Isnt't it more difficult to aim properly and doesn't yield much difference to crashing into a standing deformable barrier?
Love the blind spot with steer assist test
MX-30 uses 1.5 GPa steel for the A-pillar.

Li-ion batteries can catch fire pretty explosively, so keeping batteries and fuel tanks protected is equally important.

No the Mazda MX-30 is an electric car, completely different from the CX-30. It’s being sold in Europe and other markets, it has not made to U.S. market yet. I’m pretty sure it will be sold in the U.S eventually.
Next crash test: BMW X7
Nice test, but as some who's 197 cm tall and weighing 125 kg, I think the small dolls used in these tests are not very accurate for my own safety.

Can you believe that in Iran we have a car named Tiba which it's mirrors are not electric?!!!! It is producing by Saipa car factory. Iranian cars have actually nothing! No safety, no beautiful appearance, no options, no qualities, non standard... Tiba is 130 million Toomans and a simple employee's salary is 2 million Toomans. It means that an employee should work for 65 months to buy a Tiba!!!!!!
