Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of Honda ZR-V 2023

Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
▶ a frontal impact test where 50% of the width of the car strikes an oncoming deformable barrier, travelling at 50 km/h
▶ a frontal impact test where the car impacts a full-width rigid barrier
▶ a side impact test where a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
▶ a pole test where the car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole and the robustness of the centre airbag is evaluated
▶ a whiplash test performed on a sled.
A series of pedestrian tests are also conducted with different impactors : adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form. As well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests. In 2023 a test scenario for Cyclist Dooring Prevention was introduced.
Active safety is rated based on the performance of the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car and car-to-motorcycle scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders, fatigue, distraction and impairment), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

    This tests isnt same than mercedes EQS. It seems to be going at a faster speed😂

    Seems like Hondas glory days are over. They were such a legend in safety and reliability here in Germany in the 80s till the early 2000s. What went wrong?

    Have you ever looked at the detailed report it gets 4 stars because of the LKA which should not be used on country roads - as always it is an assistance system and should not be used for automatic driving... The crash behavior of the body is absolutely superb

    Another lane keeping failed. (Though I still not consider it as representitive. There's too many other kinds of "road limit".)

    It's actually good. The lane assist system didn't kick in on a country road like setting, how euroncap thinks its a bad thing is beyond me. just search lane keep assist on forums and you will see numerous people saying how dangerous it is on country roads. Well done Honda for listening to the customer instead of some organisation that does not seem to know what is safe. LKA should not be used on country lanes, end of.

    Euro NCAP's standards are higher due to testing and taking into account safety systems instead of simply crashing and testing the structure, and it lost a star because pedestrian detection failed at night.

    You have to see WHY they gave 4 stars instead: you have to see all of the percentages at the begin of the video: inside safety is good in this vehicle, as you can see from the percentage

    Lateral impact test has really poor result , the passenger’s head is not protected at all
