Hi Jake, very nice pattern, but I am confused as to why you would use a jig hook and slotted bead for an emerger. Doesn't the hook shape and bead invert the cdc loop? Thanks much.

The cdc loop is genius to catch a nice air bubble. I’ve never seen this technique before, is it a common way to tie emergers?

Hi Luke, this technique is used in in the " bubble caddies " , a true dry fly. Never seen it in a nymph, but should work great. Only drawback is that cdc doesn't go along with fish slime. Tight lines

When you fish this pattern, it is upside down so the wing case is also. Perhaps it does not matter, but wouldn´t it logical to tie cdc wing case to other side ?

When I fish this fly, its usually in fast riffle water so the fly itself gets tossed around so its never really "upside down"

I've experimented with both ways, and it really doesn't seem to make a difference. It's easier to tie on the "top" side away from the bend/point.
